This test took place in 2010 it looks like. It seems as if all MB models have these crash test videos dated a year before the car is released and approve final designs 3-5 years ahead.
after 11 years of great service and reliability our w163 ml320 will be soon put to rest for a new ml350 bluetec, cannot wait! However our old ml320 will go into storage, were never letting it go!

@boy638 I think it's so that the footage from the high speed cameras can be more easily analyzed.
