  • MAESTROOO!!

  • @medicitv I have an idea... what if you get a page full of advertising and make us watch it for watch you concertos and documentaries, you can earn money and offer a free service, would be nice ;D.

  • my favorite cellist

  • @insomniawheesung and mine...

  • beautiful kodaly, too

  • Beautiful Elgar.

  • I thought the masterclass was charming, and her smiles were reflective of the wonder of a true moment of realization brought by the advice of an absolute master. I've seen this moment before, from the perspective of both the student and the teacher and it's hard to explain, but it's a wonderful thing...

  • @maestrophil1 This is absolutely correct. I know that whenever I have one of these "eureka" moments in a lesson or masterclass I react in very much a similar manner. For those that think the girl is trying to "play" Starker, LISTEN to the difference in her vibrato before and after he instructs her and then tell me you wouldn't react the same way.

  • I don’t know where most of you are coming from with the comments about this young lady. You either have a problem with your own sexuality or are just totally and utter nasty people and for what reason ? I would imagine that not one of you have ever been in the position of this young woman.

The way I read the signs as a cellist, is a look of utter surprise, in that, what he had told her to do with her thumb at the neck, actually made sense.

Get a life you sad bloody people.

  • I suspect you're all american?

this girl is like totally nervous, and her way of dealing with that is smiling appologeticly. That's very common in europe.

Oh and the most smiling occurs when she has like no idea what to do next. (play on or get another comment)

is that so hard to see? it's not all about reproducing ourselfs

  • @kleineschutter 'I suspect you're all american?' I see you make your own assumptions, also false in this case! We all project our biases to some degree onto our interpretations of others' reality. Pure empathy is likely impossible. Your interpretation is quite logical, probably likely, and smug. German, I'm guessing?

  • @nphaydu I like your answer:) guess I went overboard, by assuming. but I did try to make a point, as the video is about the masterclass (which was very inspiring for me btw)

also I made clear that I am not sure but that it's my opinion, by saying I suspect. I am fully aware that I'm human and also make mistakes.

But you're right to be offended. it does sound a bit offensive if I read it back like this.

  • @kleineschutter I think that you were right, I did project my own sentimentality onto someone else, and I felt all of a sudden so obviously silly. I struck back because my pride was hurt. I'm sorry.

  • @kleineschutter Especially in front of such an Icon in music

  • @kleineschutter Lol I like you

  • @kleineschutter : Deutsche !

  • Okay, so the girl is coquettish with Starker - I don't know why anyone should mind, after all, Starker HIMSELF doesn't seem to mind in the video!!! Let the old man enjoy winning a few bashful smiles and awing gazes from a cute young lass. Live on, hearts young and old!

  • Forget Starker, who is the beautiful cellist playing Elgar? The expressions on her face of childish sincerity, playfulness, embarrassment, joyous discovery, the delightedness on her brow, indeed, beautiful is the music maker in her music making!

  • @nphaydu hahahaha you seem like a cool guy. quite a poet. but forget starker? thats impossible. musicy88, ok, you were born in 88.................

  • Lessons are importants!!!!!!!!

  • doesn't like all the unnecessary smiles and coquettish attitude of the girl.

  • @musicy88 oh stop it she's charming

  • @musicy88 are you gay rofl

  • @musicy88

I agree, she seems to be totally trying to play him. Hot, yes, but CUT IT OUT ALREADY. Rolling my eyes.

  • @mrsquirrelcpw I am just disgusted by these other nasty comments that are praising this girl's LOOKS. (they hear nothing) you saw it right. it's easy to see that the girl is trying to show her smiles rather than to concentrate on the music making.

  • Great maestro.

  • Wonderful!
