Go to the berkey site and buy the filters, go get 2 food grade 5 gallon buckets with lids. buy a spout for the bottom bucket and you have a berkey filter for under $90 bucks. take the other $100 and buy extra filters.
Berkey filters , flouride filters, whole house filters , and much more at mahaffeyiti(dot)com just take out he (dot) and put . Atmospheric water generators and filter sport bottles too
You know...you can do the same thing with two water jugs, a $5 spigot from Lowes, and a Doulton candle ceramic filter for $55. Total less than $65...and after about 2,000 gallons, you can use a 3M abrasive pad to re-clean that Doulton ceramic filter. Again, same idea...but cheaper by 75%...same comparable water quality.
plastic is good for ya, helps keep your arteries smooth and your liver clean. Shaneshop (dot) net has a great line up of berkey systems and free gifts.
Yeah, the berkeys are great, I have the travel berkey stainless steel one with the pf-2s to remove fluoride. I didn't know water could taste so good. They are also pretty fairly affordable as well, I paid a little over 200 dollars for mine and just will have to replace the filters every 6 months or so.
Just received one of these as part of an efoodsdirect one year storable dehydrated food supply. Am on city water and am thinking of going ahead and making use of it.
Pricey? A system without the lights runs about $209. The black filters remove so many things I wont even list them here.
A set of PF-2 filters can be added for flouride and arsenic. $59. Black filters good for about 6,000 gallons. PF-2's about 1,000. How much would bottled water cost in the end?
they are made from #7 plastic which is not good. if i ever use their filters i'm going to find glass or metal containers and drill holes in them

@303Miles I heard stainless steel is bad also. Making dogs sick. So it must be bad for humans too. I am just saying.
