  • whoah, i love her...I am trashy not her :-)

  • Too cool school ... great tune

  • Lovely!

  • i would deffo do her.

  • Raffaella is unique! I'm so glad to being Italian when I watch her videos xD But in this clip there are so many mistakes. She didn't won "Canzonissima", she hosted it! And it wasn't a cross between PopIdol and Eurovision at all!!! She is an huge icon here in Italy, for her songs but especially for her tv programms. I think most famous was "Pronto, Raffaella?" (83-85): first Italian "telephone-quiz show" with contact between people at home and her. First af all, she's the Lady of Italian Tv!

  • Thumbs up if the Doctor Who episode "Midnight" brought you here... :)

  • I just saw her giving Italy's votes for the Eurovision contest. She is still loved after all these years... The English version of this song is not as good as the original but it's still amusing to watch and testament to the fact that the melody of the song is catchy and she's entertaining to watch.

  • typical British idiocy

  • Sounds awful in English, it's far better the Spanish or the Italian version

  • there are three mistakes in typing her name and surname : Rafaella = Raffaella and Cara = Carrà = Top of the Pops UK should pay more attention ... Italian is so easy, how they could make so many mistakes in typing two words ...

  • FA SCHIFO IN INGLESE..........

  • Raffaella is a pure icon ... she was copied by Madonna later and Lady gaga after ... She gave scandal with her songs and showing the bell on tv in the 70s .... Her revival album "Raffica" is simply amazing .... Luv herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • This English version is really awful. You really need to listen to the Italian which is called A Far L'Amore I think. I had never heard of her until I started visiting a friend in Italy in the 90s. I can't tell you how huge she is in Italy and I think most of the Spanish speaking world as she recorded a lot in Spanish as well.

  • Raffaella Carra is the one with truly talent. Lot of celebtities has copied her with the years like Madonna and Lady Gaga.

  • great ... luvvvvvvv herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr check out her song "Rumore" in the 70s ... amazing ....

  • Shame about that nervous tick she had throwing her head back like that!!

  • @Kroaky that was part of the show .... and I luv it ... I do like her in office .... when people propose me stupid things or ideas ... :D LOL

  • I remember this from when I was kid - I see where Margarita Pracatan got the idea from

  • @steve266344 - I thought it was Margarita Pracatan. Either her or Britt Ekland.

  • class

  • One of the records that you hear little, that it takes you straight back to the time.Irritating though

  • This is not Trash...You Idiot! This is Fenomenal....Lady Gaga copied her now!

  • @RiaSophie2277 Well spotted, I came to this expecting someone to have seen some familiarity. This is incredibly cheesy though. I was 6 when this came out, so at least it's not forgetable.

  • exactly and success is NOT spelled succes (?)

  • I saw this song on Doctor Who and wanted to go find it on You Tube. This song is so old - but it still swings... We should never forget are oldies...

  • Very interesting.

  • i didnt know this version and also didnt know about was that famousç11 good for raffaella!!

  • memories of my Mum and Dads parties in the late 70s along with Baccara and Abba I grew up on Euro disco!!!

  • I was 5 when this came out - i remember it. Ahhh disco at it campest, love it

  • I can remember seeing this on Top of the pops and liked it because it was abit different and what a crazy and rather sexy foreign woman I was only still 13 at the time!

  • I cried my eyes out laughing when I first saw this in an episode of Dr. Who... I had just moved from italy and couldn't stand the woman (she was bloody everywhere)..just bought a telly, and there she was!

I never even knew that this song had been done in english as well...what a way to find out!

  • in italian - a far l'amore comincia tu

in spanish - en el amor todo es empezar

    in german - liebelei

  • @giocresta21

In French: Puisque tu l'aimes dis-le lui

  • See the sexy version of this great song on

youtube which it's video was watched over

1 million; it is Turkish version. Write Nez(

    singer's name ) Sakın Ha( song's name )=

Nez Sakın Ha. You won't regret it.

  • I had never heard of her until I went to Italy as I had a friend who worked in Rome. There was simply no escape. She may be a one hit wonder in the UK but in Italy - and I think Spain - she is the equivalent of Cilla Black.

Then when I first saw Lady Gaga I had flashbacks. Rafaella should sue!

  • straordinaria dal vivo e in inglese.

  • Rafaella you are my favorite.. i love thats song x x x x xx

  • wow, rafaella you are amazing , the one, i saw your videos , in spanish, italian, now english, even german , i love uuuuuu

  • LOL. part of this video was in an episode of doctor who...

  • SUPER DIVA ; I LOVE LA CARRÁ

  • we r proud of her!

  • omg this song is annoying *squishes up face*

i'm sorry, but ugh... terrible. like at first kinda catchy, but later... ugh!

  • i think the french version is frappe sur son coeur...:)

  • not trash at all! XD

  • And the most famous versions are in Italian and Spanish. I encourage you to look up for them here in YouTube. You'll realize they amazing!

  • There's also an German version also sung by her: "Liebelei" for those interested.

  • Wow. I just saw this on Dr. Who. I was 11 in 1978 and had forgotten this song, but hearing it on Dr. Who brought it back. I love it. She should re-release it :)

  • Please no encouragement!! She might be a novelty to you but I can assure you my poor Italian friends back home would be very happy to see the back of her, who's been on Italian TV since the 60's and has just turned 65. The Italian title of this song is "A far l'amore comincia tu" for those who want to hear the original song.

  • I almost choked when I saw a clip of this performance on Dr Who. I had no idea she got as far as being on TOTP. She is the Italian equivalent of Cilla Black: a four-note singer who later reinvented herself as the doyenne of trashy TV. Not for the first time, she is lampooned as the epitome of the trashiest Europop. Oscar winning director Gabriele Salvatores has a despairing Diego Abatantuono shoot at a TV set blaring out a Carrà song-and-dance routine on Mexican TV in "Puerto Escondido".

  • Yeah, I discovered this song from Doctor Who, I just had to hear the whole thing to make up my mind up about it. I think its rather catchy!

  • Doctor, please -- I beg of you -- throw her off the transport!

  • Feck , what a good handle, thumbs up just for having the best Ytube name ever.

  • Right now I'm watching VonRyan's Express, yeah, she's in it.

  • *Interuption* DOCTOR.. DOCTOR!!

  • you are fantastic. this is exactly why i sought out the video.

  • Whiplash injury?

  • wow, this is my 5th time watchin this video

    feelin extra gay

  • check out the video of Raffaella Carra' IN THE NAVY or THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA...she's great!

  • Damn this song is really catchy!

  • One of the first women I fancied -ahh the memories.

  • Good to see this! I was 9 at the time this was out and i loved her! Especially those head jerks! Blimey!

  • now at 64 years old Raffaella Carra' still sing this song sometimes and she's amazing!

  • The most complete woman in the world!

  • Grande Raffaella!

  • meravigliosa anche in inglese...

  • Desidero ascoltare esso in italiano :-)

  • Mamma mia che trash

  • Do it do it again Raffaella!
