I dunno. Earth is kind of a puny, under-developed planet. If I was a female Lavos, I wouldn't be too impressed. Coruscant on the other hand. Now THAT is a planet.

Magus is... kind of the precursor to a what's kind of common in Chrono Cross... a character that you can only get by *not* making the obvious gamer's choice. Any normal gamer would probably jump right into the second fight with Magus without thinking, on their first time through, unless they were curious and were expecting some kind of amusing response from "no."
I myself only refused to fight him 'cause I knew ahead of time that he'd join me.
Magus's only real disadvantage is that he lacks any Dual Techs or Triple Techs, except for the ones that involve Rock accessories--none of which involve Crono, anyway. So the fact that he's not a team player kind of limits your options, although by the time he gets his stronger techs, that ceases to matter.
That he's the best spellcaster AND has decent physical attack kind of overpowers that.
Here's the really fun part of the "600 AD people don't know Magus" fuck-up... if you do the Rainbow Shell side-quest with Magus leading your party, before reviving Crono, Leene will ask the king to store away the Rainbow Shell... FOR THE SAKE OF MAGUS.
It's one of those really sad moments in the game where you are asked to switch of the Nu that holds all the memories and the mind of Belthasar. He basically asks you to switch if life support.
Magus is my favorite character i this game. He's my avatar if you bothered to look at my little section on Youtube. I also have an awesome background. What bothers me is that when I put something on Youbtube for my background or avatar. It doesn't animate properly. My computer is Vista and things won't animate on my Desktop either. What's with that?

I like using the preview ending for major events or battles. It makes it seem even more epic. Otherwise, the old ending is fine because it lets you maximize gameplay time.
Actually, since HC often has to cut a video short because there's not enough time left to finish an area or event up ahead, he often has enough time left at the end to insert a preview anyways. So you really aren't losing anything.
Magus doesn't have any dual techs because he doesn't play well with others (if you haven't noticed, he's not exactly a nice person). And the only way he gets triple techs is through using the special rocks.

Basically, Lavos reproduces by crashing into a planet, adding the DNA from the planet's living organisms to its own, then exists the crust of the planet (destroying all live in the process), then replicates itself as smaller "spawn", when then launch themselves into space.
@Zarggg Throughout the whole game. The DNA reference is from comments party members say during the final battle. The "exiting the crust" detail is the "Day of Lavos". Death Peak itself is assumed to be part of the Lavos shell, since it's right near where he came out; that can be determined by comparing the era maps.

Yeah, I think agree with most of the other people on here. I would prefer more gameplay over the "Next Time" ending. I like the preview videos on occasion for a big event that's going to happen, but otherwise, I like to have a whole lot of gameplay in the video. Sometimes I'll be watching them and just all of a sudden it's ending, and I'm like, "Didn't I just start watching? :("

I liked the Ending I think if you could do more dramatic ones or ones to make the viewer think something else besides what is wanted to happen would be cool
You can do the majority of them on your first new game+ with relative ease and they can be done on the same file without having to start a new game+ for each one. So, he doesn't have to play through the game 11 more times to see all the endings, just activate them at the appropriate times and not save afterwords.
The only ones that might be an issue are the first two possible, those might have to be on a 2nd new game+
I would imagine Magus' magic is better simply because he's a more experienced magician, as opposed to the rest of the team who only just recently learned magic.
Personally, I prefer the old endings, for mostly the same reasons as others have said, it takes up time.
I think i prefer the old endings better, it allows you more time to fit actual gameplay into the video, and also, later on in the future when people are watching this LP all the way through, the "next time" endings will be a bit redundant.
I don't know why, but I always feel sad turning off that Nu for the last time. It's sort of like when Yoda dies. In both cases, the music really enhances the feeling.

Triple Techs are great if you're under-leveled, but not so great if you've been farming Black Omen like crazy. I still think you should show them all, because they do look cool.
I like the ending it was good but you could get a little more adventuring done. You had a less then a minute left before you did that teaser ending which could be used to explore more. In my opinion you should keep it the old way.
He actually had more than one minute-- less than two minutes. Youtube lets you get up to about 10:59. He could've gone through another whole screen, I'm sure. :s
Well, Lavos may not need another one of it's species in order to reproduce. The ending was good, maybe it is a good idea to do that from now on for your previews. Yeah, Magus is probably one of the best party members to have, although he doesn't have any dual tech or triple tech (other than with the rock), his spells are more than enough. Besides, his element is shadow, which most of the double techs' element is anyway, saves you MP this way.
I think Lavos is simply bisexual (or whatever word do you use for describing things that are Male and Female at once) and it simply multiplies like germs. And the reason why he is sucking planets energy is revealed, when you fight it with Robo in party.

I think the ending was a nice touch, but you should keep the previews short (maybe 15-20 seconds tops) and have more adventuring content.
I say use the previews to fill up the time and bring it up to 10:59 (for Youtube).

I don't think they do. If memory serves, Magus only does triple techs with other party members. All of his techs are just magic.

Magus doesn't have any dual techs because he doesn't play well with others (if you haven't noticed, he's not exactly a nice person). And the only way he gets triple techs is through using the special rocks.

@Zetimenvec Not quite. It's explained later, but since this is two years after he showed the ending, I feel the statute of limitations on spoilers is over.
Basically, Lavos reproduces by crashing into a planet, adding the DNA from the planet's living organisms to its own, then exists the crust of the planet (destroying all live in the process), then replicates itself as smaller "spawn", when then launch themselves into space.
Basically, it's a giant, interstellar parasite.

@Zarggg Throughout the whole game. The DNA reference is from comments party members say during the final battle. The "exiting the crust" detail is the "Day of Lavos". Death Peak itself is assumed to be part of the Lavos shell, since it's right near where he came out; that can be determined by comparing the era maps.

Yeah, I think agree with most of the other people on here. I would prefer more gameplay over the "Next Time" ending. I like the preview videos on occasion for a big event that's going to happen, but otherwise, I like to have a whole lot of gameplay in the video. Sometimes I'll be watching them and just all of a sudden it's ending, and I'm like, "Didn't I just start watching? :("

You can do the majority of them on your first new game+ with relative ease and they can be done on the same file without having to start a new game+ for each one. So, he doesn't have to play through the game 11 more times to see all the endings, just activate them at the appropriate times and not save afterwords.
The only ones that might be an issue are the first two possible, those might have to be on a 2nd new game+

I would imagine Magus' magic is better simply because he's a more experienced magician, as opposed to the rest of the team who only just recently learned magic.
Personally, I prefer the old endings, for mostly the same reasons as others have said, it takes up time.

I think i prefer the old endings better, it allows you more time to fit actual gameplay into the video, and also, later on in the future when people are watching this LP all the way through, the "next time" endings will be a bit redundant.

I don't know why, but I always feel sad turning off that Nu for the last time. It's sort of like when Yoda dies. In both cases, the music really enhances the feeling.

Triple Techs are great if you're under-leveled, but not so great if you've been farming Black Omen like crazy. I still think you should show them all, because they do look cool.

I like the ending it was good but you could get a little more adventuring done. You had a less then a minute left before you did that teaser ending which could be used to explore more. In my opinion you should keep it the old way.

He actually had more than one minute-- less than two minutes. Youtube lets you get up to about 10:59. He could've gone through another whole screen, I'm sure. :s

Well, Lavos may not need another one of it's species in order to reproduce. The ending was good, maybe it is a good idea to do that from now on for your previews. Yeah, Magus is probably one of the best party members to have, although he doesn't have any dual tech or triple tech (other than with the rock), his spells are more than enough. Besides, his element is shadow, which most of the double techs' element is anyway, saves you MP this way.

Nice ending.
I think Lavos is simply bisexual (or whatever word do you use for describing things that are Male and Female at once) and it simply multiplies like germs. And the reason why he is sucking planets energy is revealed, when you fight it with Robo in party.
