  • Some dirty, dirty blues. Fuckin love this guitar sound

  • I remember flipping channels and seeing something called Black Snake Moan on showtime. The title interested me, so I check the info and saw the cast, and wanted to slap myself for not knowing about this movie when it was release. Needless to say I watched it and was blown away. Such an amazing and overlooked movie.

  • Rose's roses, and the tractor. Awesome movie.

  • Ladies and gentlemen...this is the real shit!

  • @wolfxix man... you are stupid... ;)

  • From reading the title of this video you would think that this is a porn video

  • Great movie

  • Song needs to be longer!! D:

  • @musstakrakish hell yeah man

  • Wadsworth Constant is in effect.

  • Grimiest, sexiest song to dance to! Love it!

  • so what exactly is he singing about?

  • @mikewashere01 His wife got pregnant and had an abortion, even though he wanted kids. The black snake he's singing about is just the dark side of his soul that kinda krept up and took control of him afterwords.

  • The guitar he plays in this movie is an Gibson ES-335.

  • I came to youtube to watch at pictures!

  • black snake is ...

black snake is all I see!

  • Oh, black snake moan, baby!

  • its the blues baby look up BB king and muddy waters

  • I am no American and I am not familiar with this kind of music but I really like it. Can someone please tell me what kind of music this is, and maybe be so kind to tell me some of names/songs that are a bit similar to this? Would appreciated a lot. Thanks!

  • @PeopleOfAr any thing by john lee hooker, bb king, eric johnson

  • @weathermaker91 thanks, I'll look into it. :)

  • @weathermaker91 Eric Johnson, sure you're not thinking of Robert Johnson? Eric Johnson is a hell of a guitarist, and definitely has a blues influence, but hes more of an instrumental rock/jazz fusion guy. Robert Johnson is as blues roots as you can get.

  • @RivieraStudios oops, ya your right

  • @PeopleOfAr Leadbelly Leadbelly Leadbelly

  • @PeopleOfAr This is the blues, man. Nothing fancy or weird, not a funk style or smooth mix or what have you. This is plain and simple, just "the blues." And it's the great grandfather of American music as we know it.

Artists: Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters would be good places to start. The soundtrack album from this movie is actually a really good place to start too, because it's a bunch of different songs, and I'd say a pretty good representation of the style.

  • @mummyjohn yeah thanks, this is so close to the soul and I don't mean the music genre but the real human soul. maybe it's just me but this music I would even describe as existential. Great thanks for the tips, I'm looking forward to discover this genre in more depth.

  • who's playing this music?

  • i say heeyyyy motha fucka do you know who i am? he said hell naww nigga, i dont give a god damn!

  • 0:50 dear lord ! the tone of that guitar sounds great !!!!!

  • this goes soo good with ayahuasca

  • this movie made me think so much

  • This movie is is controversial and powerful as Zeus in this scene especially, with her having flash backs she needs to get through inner healing she must do. One of the best movies I've ever seen, of tens of thousands. The director made 5 movies featuring different kinds of music in each one; Hustle & Flow was Rap, this one was blues. One was rock, not sure the others have been made or released yet, but all are massively powerful.

  • Great song, now Go the Fuck to Sleep.

  • @Mex250 lol

  • its a great flim that they poorly advertised they made it all about tying her to a radiator which brings out all the creeps from their basements and teenagers swoon

  • Sick movie, great music. Fuck critics, this is worth watching.

  • Highly underrated film. Pure blues...you either get it or you don't. Great work by Jackson and Ricci.

  • Is their anything else that's like this? Please tell me

  • @TheGoonkie its delta blues if you mean the music

  • this blew me away, played it for a lot of people.

  • one badass fucking song! he can sing the hell out of the blues!

  • dont ever let the black snake win

  • This is some of the heaviest shit i've ever leaned my ears upon.

  • Samuel L. learned to play the Mississippi blues for this movie. Its like he was friends with Son House or Blind Lemon Jefferson.

  • This is MOTHAFUCKIN' heavy. Deep shit man.

  • i am not into blues at all but ole sammy boy can sing the hell out of the blues

  • cuts you deep and to the bone. love it.

  • Can anyone give me some tip on blues that sounds like this? I freakin love it, it sounds fucking amazing.

  • @Lymesloop delta blues mate.

  • @Lymesloop Try...Howlin Wolf - Spoonful (Psychedelic version)...it's about the madness people can get lost into when they become obsessed with lust.

  • I've heard my share of stank blues but 0:50 might be the sexiest sound in the history of sound and sex

  • This is one of my favorite films. Great music, great writing, great soul. It's really a modern classic.

  • shivers down my spine !!!

  • @Magenta367 oh hell it does

  • where i can download this song?

  • @Haribasas ahhh.. Itunes?

  • Love this song!

  • Black snake moan is one of the best movies of it's kind that i have seen! I have watched it 20 times over ! Samuel L. jackson's voice is just so hypnotizing to me

  • man that song i AWESOME!!! :D

  • @crackawise how does fuck you sound!!!

  • This scene in the movie more than made up for the presence of Justin Timberlake.

  • black snake moan is better than those motherfucking snakes on that motherfucking plane

  • @dguitarman2244 LOL! Man, that was better than well said!

  • @dguitarman2244

    ahahahahahahaha fuck yea it is

  • @dguitarman2244 HELL YEAH MAN

  • es-335 <3 best playing guitar ive ever picked up.

  • I have a whole new outlook on this guy. He can sing the hell outta the blues.

  • damn the guitar and thunder give me the chills

  • damn the guitar & thunder give me the chills

  • amazing

  • i wish my olume went louder!

  • Pure Genius!!!! That man can sing!!! Sure he acts, but he sings way better!!!! Nobody could have done this movie better!!!!!

  • what kind of guitar and amp are used here..?

  • @3kadosh Gibson ES-355. The amp you SEE is a Peavey. I doubt its what you are actually hearing. Studio recording dubbed over the film most likely.

  • can you send me the audio?

  • where can i find the actual video clip of this scene??

  • @Myladypeace7 in the movie

  • @Myladypeace7 if you have netflix then you can watch the whole movie instantly. or just look it up.

  • Oh yeah...if you feel like your chest and eardrums have been raped, you've gotten sweetly molested by Sam's music. Pure orgasmic sound waves baby

  • I don't think this was a "slutty" movie. A lot of it was true to life, and sometimes real life isn't very pretty. Nor is it nice. I think Samuel L. Jackson is one of the greatest actors of this generation, and damn!, he can kick out the blues!

  • The rain really gives it an awesome vibe.

  • Folks say to me,that was a slutty/shitty movie.I dont mind 'em,they cant feel the blues like i do,apparently..

  • According to the book "Jeff Beck "Crazy Fingers" Jeff Beck did alot of the recordings in this movie including this track. And I doubt those are humbuckers growling. Probably a very hot Strat with single coils running through an old 100 watt Marshall Plexi or a cranked up Marshall JTM 45 50 watt

  • Fuck can you hear those humbuckers crunch!

  • She done had it cut out.....love this movie

  • anyone kno any blues like this, distorted and dark

  • @retephgiel /watch?v=FU1e9i-vlvY&feature=related

  • @uverdadeiro cheers i like it (: ..got alt with more distortion

  • @retephgiel Try "keep your hands off her" by the black keys or "everywhere I go" by the same band.

  • @retephgiel hey if you like this look up blind lemon jeferson and others from that era, the bloody rock the blues the way it ment to be played

  • first thing i did when i saw this scene, is playing this tune :D

  • Cool.

  • Replay.

    Replay.

    Replay.

  • 22 people dont know true music when they hear it

  • @MrClevidence 22 people preferred Samuel L Jackson in Star Wars.

  • that some savage ass guitar playing

  • 22 People. Done cut it out and had it no more...

  • this was played on a 3 string cigar box Guitar

  • @mrdirtdriver It was not. It was just a regular old guitar, By a fucking good guitarist

  • Goosebumps anyone?

  • this song proves that it doesn't take technique to make a good song, but emotion, passion, and power

  • Robert Johnson, Son House, Leadbelly, and John Lee Hooker are some of my favorites.

  • This is a great scene. I just love his oratory on top of him playing. The music gets scarier, suspensful, and more insistent as he plays. This is just truly a work of cinematic and musical art. I love old delta blues.

  • @Jaycue24 "I love old delta blues." You and me both man.

  • @GhettoWerewolf ,

Sorry, but this is not delta blues, its north mississippi mountain blues :)

  • Theres not a guitar or an amp out there that can make that sound come from a guitar Thats straight from the soul.

  • @JakobRyan722 *sheds a tear* that was deep dude hahahahh

  • Does anyone know artists who make blues like this? I have been looking for a long time.

  • @fragmeister2000 look at the black keys, their old stuff is good. like the song busted

  • @fragmeister2000 Dude you should seriously check these songs out by Burnside, its not completely the same, but still, give it a shot:

    /watch?v=hrp0jkdLUIw&feature=related

    /watch?v=H9XW2v3tYfw&feature=related

  • @fragmeister2000 straight delta blues man haha. gotta look up son house, robert johnson (for sure), muddy waters, john lee hooker, all that good shit :) then you'll start finding good shit. :P but this song is actually a version of the actual song black snake moan played kind of in a muddy water's style i'd say

  • @fragmeister2000 Look for Mark "Porkchop" Holder, Kenny Brown, RL Burnside, T-Model Ford, Keni Lee Burgess, Bukka White, B-Side Jack White shit, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, really really old Bob Dylan, Son House, etc..... its everywhere man

  • I came.

  • 22 ppl like DICK

  • This movie wasn't all that great but this scene made it all worth watching.

  • @goulldspellah Thanks! I got a few songs by the Black Keys and the White stripes. I'm not so much into the heavy metal solo guitar (stripes) but I want something a lot more soulful and edgier just like this, so thanks!

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 Then we're two, I started listening to blues the same way

  • You know the L in Samuel L. Jackson stands for Legendary. He was sent from a far off planet called Kickassorionsinus, and he came to rock us all. Sure, he's an actor right now, but the people of kickassorionsinus are like the Doctor, they don't die. When he "dies" he's gonna become a blue musician in the year 2090 and sing us into Armageddon.

  • @ELREndLondonRule Whatever you are smoking or taking, may I please have two of? Pretty please? ^.^

  • @hotforteacher24 Only if you barter some twiddle cheese past the hand of the mighty snake from the blue canyon of doom!!!!!!!

    KABLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you most likely did lol kickassorionsinus? lol

  • @ELREndLondonRule

waz really set back because he rocks

  • does he look like a bitch!?

  • Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel - Jimi hendrix

  • Nice montage using only static frames. Great music and movie also. Music is like a separate character in that movie.
