1-He cracked his skull and is coming back less than a year later
2-He had eye surgery less than 5 months ago and is already sparring. He also still needs to wear sunglasses in doors
3-He obviously has brain damage due to how awkard+ uncoordinated he looks in sparring
4-He hasn't won 1 round in a championship fight in 3 years
@boxingjessie Margarito is "willing to die" in the ring, but he give no effort to actually win. It is completely stupid! Does being Mexican nowadays mean to be stupid and get embarrassed for 12 rounds. Yes, He didn't give up against Pacroid but he gave no effort to win the fight. Margarito shouldn't quit, but his trainer should know when to pull him before he gets a serious injury.
Robert didn't pull him out bc he's a Mexican warrior that wouldn't give up. But as a trainer you have to make the judgement call to stop it. Plz Robert don't let any of your fighters go thru Marg vs Pac again.
People keep saying cotto quit..quitting suggests that you have the option to continue but he just didn't have anything left. The last thing ANY undefeated fighter would do is quit.
Cotto has never quit. During Face-Off he didn't suggest he would do so. People are twisting it as if he wouldn't give it his best in the ring. That is not the case. In the fight with Marg it was Cotto's trainer who threw in the towel. And in the Pac fight it was the ref who stopped the fight. Cotto has never himself surrendered.

Cotto is a warrior and has done enough to earn respect. You survive and live to fight another day. Every smart fighter and trainer will tell you this.

Cotto got first got hurt in the 7th rd I believe, and continued to fight. He even won a round or two before getting stopped by Margarito. Cotto took too many punches and there is no good reason for any man to continue. It was dumb for Marg to continue fighting against Pac because now he has a damaged eye and Cotto could end his career this weekend.
