  • sing this one every night in my garage on karaoke, don't laugh sound good

  • feels my cup...today!

  • @mommasrilanka The line is.....

Fills my cup,,,,not feels my cup.

  • This song is about manic-depression and the spectrum of moods (seasons) that the person goes through " in one day" and the conflict within.

  • btw, that is Johnny Marr from The Smiths on Harmonica... amazing :-)

  • this song is like the weather get in ireland great band.

  • SUBLIME.

  • I love the Finn brothers. This song has become a standard in my opinion. Thanks for posting.

  • Their music has been such a massive part of my life, like a musical photo album. White Elk once said " When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice".. these guys have certainly kept their side of the bargain.

  • great video thanks for posting

  • Perfect song, perfect performance

  • Love Crowded House.... beautiful performance!! :-)

  • crowded house can be so dark, i love that about them.........

  • I was there. :)

  • The Harmonica adds a suprising dimension to this live version.

  • Love these brothers harmonize, stunning!!!

  • @shpankyfunky blood dries up (pain) ... like rain like rain as rain dries with the sun coming out and pain is taken away.

  • oh my god.....brilliant performance

  • I loved it when the two brothers got together

  • As always, lovely harmonies, with Neil Finn, who is so good..

  • THE LEGENDARY JOHNNY MARR!!!

  • I don't know about what the rest of you think but I would say this tune is quite beatles-esque. Very simple... very effective. A great example of songwriting!

  • I agree 100% drop. I've just been listening to this song on their Woodface DVD. I came here to make the very same comment, but you beat me to it.

Anyway, Kurt Cobain actually copied his Smells Like Teen Spirit guitar intro off one of our favourite live bands in OZ, called Australian Crawl. Check out their You Tube clip " Daughters Of The Northern Coast (1982 "

Kurt was a massive fan of Crawl and when he came to Australia, he pleaded with the band to reform so he could see them live!! - True

  • well it was Boston who sued him successfully for nicking it from "More than a feeling"....

  • a very fine work, and listening to it feels pretty fookin' good :)

  • incredible song, simple but very effective..I am so glad to came across this song today.. :-)

  • haha, great compo!

  • This live performance is absolutely astonishing!!!!

  • Beautiful xD

  • Love this life version too, awesome..

two brothers just blend and the harp is fantastic at the end...=)

  • Quality..absolute quality!

  • The Finn brothers are so talented... hands down!!

  • love this song. makes me cry, don't know why

  • @vonstarksky because you understand the meaning of the song...

  • Comment removed

  • @vonstarksky

this song makes me cry, don't know why too.

  • a really great song...

  • lol, you're just as bad for answering, no matter how desperate and horny you are.

  • I love them !

The man playing the piano is Neil's brother, Tim, isn't he ?

  • Yes. Tim Finn. The harmonica is played by Johnny Marr. I was there. Best concert i've ever witnessed.

  • I really love CROWDED HOUSE. I couldn't choose one song as the best. All of them are really wonderful. In the 80'S, when I was just a teenager, I knew "Don't dream it's over and you'd better be home soon" Since then, I never forgot thier name. Now that I am adult and know English I can only enjoy this group, especially the voice of Neil, I love him!

  • I'm with you on this one, well said

  • Simply precious

  • quality ! Love the Johnny marr appearance too !

  • Love it so much!

  • only 19 days to see them in poland :)

  • are there just 2 of them ??

    still it is great music

  • i love it!

  • fuckin brilliant

  • I think this tune is great both acoustic and normal it s freakin good luv it!!!

  • personally i m just happy they got together.we may see amazing music once again...

  • Crowded house are 'the dudes'. If you have anything to say about that then fuck you!

  • Is Crowded House Live at the ST James available on DVD or CD?

I have abunch of CH bootlegs- but not this one.

Does anyone want to trade audio bootlegs? contact me!

  • Hello,

yes this is available on dvd and cd. it's not crowded house but the concert en dvd is called:

    7 WORLDS COLLIDE-NEIL FINN & FRIENDS LIVE AT ST.JAMES

Look at ebay (or elswhere on the internet) or at your local store.

    greetz

    Ronnie

  • These Guys work there arses off to get where they are,and then people like the Spice Girls turn up with no talent at all, and suddenly there songwriters.WTF

  • You're right, but I wouldn't worry about CH. The Spice Girls got no royalties and their rewards lasted as long as their fame. These guys will be deservedly reaping it in for years because they wrote their own songs, and quality like this does not go out of fashion. What a great, great band.

  • Don't mention the Spice Girls and Crowded House in the same fucking sentence.

  • Catch Crowded House after 12 years apart on PBS's Austin City Limits 1-11-08

  • It is totally awesome when the crowd sings all by itself the refrain!!! What fabulous fans for fabulous performers.

  • the harmonica too is beautifull, i think.

  • Fantastic as this song (and version) is, that harmonica solo is terrible.

  • Harmonica solo by Johnny Marr of the Smiths, no less. Who should probably stick to the guitar.

  • Indeedly doodly. He did a much better solo when i saw Neil in Manchester. And he then did How Soon Is Now which was marvellous for us ageing shoegazers.

  • Amazing song

  • luckily we have this great brother act...we truly are lucky and fortunate...

  • Truly, pop music done right. I love this band.

  • yeah i agree smiling as the shit comes down is my fav song line ever

  • Excellent video, spectacular song. I LOVE those Finn brothers =)

  • "Smiling as the shit comes down." Best Neil Finn lyric ever! Love this song! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • there was an alternative version of the single. "smiling as the shit goes down". weird. just one word different.

  • He actually says "ship goes down" so that it could get radio airplay.

  • @kaspervalentijn Is he saying "Ship" instead? Can't tell...

  • @piper77 I agree> ive listened and rewound that line over and over again when i was going thru a bad time at work, it made me realise that others are always having bad times too.
