Living Today, thank you for the today's that we are given. Let me live this day and do the things that need doing, help me to forgive what needs to be forgiven, help me to love and not hate, help me to have courage, help me to have faith, give me wisdom, help me to bend and not break, help me not to cause anyone heartache or pain.
If I stumble and fall, help me to get up and get going again.
More than anything else, get Bruce up from his knees.
And R.I.P. Clemons as well... how sad. But Bruce is always trying to write songs about holding on hope and moving through, and he's right. Hard times aren't called hard time 'cause they're easy, but we need to change them.
Down here in Europe, we understand that America feels tired of war. But if id had not been for America's albeit limited involvement, Qaddafi would have taken Bengazi by now(cause us Europeans are big mouths that do little - remember Bosnia & Kossovo). But the Toxic Texan (on the War of Terror pretext) fetched America quite far from its foundations - the Patriot Act, the CIA Extra Renditions, the Abu Ghraib debacle, Hurricane Katrina, the 2004 election, the mln$ for Halliburton. Boss is right.

Isn't it funny how our current President, (an idiot), has kept all the Bush policies? I'm a huge Bruce fan and have been for years. He really needs to sing and shut the hell up about politics.
He's a great performer and he's spot on with his social commentary. Bruce once wrote we should embrace the America we "hold in our hearts." For eight years under the Dim Son the beat of that great heart was dimmed. I don't know if Obama is the answer; history will be the judge of that. We must embrace the moment and move forward.

I'm a HUGE Bruce fan so I forgive him for his dangerously naieve political views. He's an artist. What do you expect? Still, he makes the Jersey Shore proud. As far as his political views (I wish he'd keep them quiet), his heart is in the right place. He's a very sincere nice guy. Thank you Bruce.
The strange thing is, Magic was only released 3 days before this and yet when he performs a track off of it, you can see people in the crowd actually singing along. They actually learned the lyrics that quickly.
Are we still livin in the future or is everything peachy now that the One is president ? Gitmo is still open, illegal wiretapping is still going on but no more speeches ? Bruce is a Dem partisan hack.
excellent job of getting these songs up,i missed this when it was on and i really enjoy these versions of these songs especially the magic stuff, bruce's new stuff always sounds so killer live when it's fresh whatever album he's supporting always sounds better live sign of incredible musicians who know each other well.
I was at the Greensboro,NC show when he played this song and i held my 11 yr old brother on my sholders and Bruce came over and reach out within inches of him and said "That's Livin' in the Furture". Still get chills today. Love Bruce I'm 21 my Dad got me hooked and im sure my kids will be hooked!

the rape of the middle east? really? and yes, i'd keep my mouth shut.. plenty of other people do it and keep their legacy just fine, just wothout the controversy surrounding their political views
Listen, you are all misunderstanding me! I am not criticizing his politics or performance or anything, he just looks slightly out of it - slightly inebriated at parts (muddled speech, swaying, etc.)
I'm a Springsteen fan as much as any of you, this is just a lighthearted jab. The guy's only a man, after all, not a god. Chill out.
I'm a big fan and respect the fact he's allowed political comment...Hell..where would modern music be without the Woody Guthries, Pete Seegers, Dylans, Richard & Mimi Farina. I suppose CSNY were out of line with their song about Kent State? And you are tight on Chillin' out. At the Vancouver "Rising" tour he commented that we were known for good pornography . At the " Devils & Dust" concert, he made mention that he hadn't tried many drugs and was saving up those experiences for his retirement.
Omigod - this is a rap! Didn't strike me as such until this video, with Bruce not strapped up to the Telecaster. Caught tour at Verizon last night from the pit - astonishing energy, enough to light up whole Eastern grid, devotees singing along with new album (what artist can pull that off after 30-plus years? Sing along with the new Stones? CSN? Spare me.)
bruce , C'mon, wire taps spying , hoover , the biggest trani in history who blackmailed presidents , senators , anyone with any clout, was in his pocket, even had a building named after him, his name should be ripped from it , in the name of decent Americans, he openly flaunted his boy friend for decades, it's gone on for years Although it is time men in power do become accountable , remember for the people by the people
westphalianprinz , I'm sure Osama knows all about this "record" and it makes him very happy. Bin Laden is a patient man who knows what he wants and knows how to achieve his goals. He loves seeing Americans divided and fighting and he really loves seeing American who don't realize the threat they are facing. The truth is, Bin Laden probably knows America better than most Americans.
Bin Laden loves that Bush is president. He wants another Republican to win. Why? Because they have no interest in catching him, and they start wars that make no sense and make the US look bad.
I support and respect the troops, but the President is a liar, a law-breaker, and a total incompetent. I can't respect someone like that, and it says alot about you that you do.
I stand by our troops but I refuse to stand by an incompetent leader who has abused his position and misused the trust of the American people. I'll stand by Bruce any day though.
All I know is this performance got The Boss on O'Reilly's extensive enemies list. Anyone on that list is really a friend to this country and tis people.

If this is a rap this is damn good! Bruce can make a shitty music genre good!

No matter bout that have some respect for our president. STAND BY BUSH AND OUR TROOPS.
buckeyesrule10 4 years ago
I support and respect the troops, but the President is a liar, a law-breaker, and a total incompetent. I can't respect someone like that, and it says alot about you that you do.
brownlo 4 years ago
I stand by our troops but I refuse to stand by an incompetent leader who has abused his position and misused the trust of the American people. I'll stand by Bruce any day though.
