  • i thought they were going to show him doing the embalming.

  • This would be great without the f'ing music.

  • I enjoyed the presentation but the music is the most annoying thing I've ever encountered - especially when it gets so loud and you haven't touched the volume control. Maybe you could remove the music and just leave everything else? Thank you for sharing, and I don't mean my comments about the music to be mean or anything, just simply telling you the truth.

  • Usually most people in the death buisiness look creepy and mentally

off to some degree? dealing with funerals and dead people can cause you

to loose contact with the living some what.

  • @globehunter2

I'm not even an embalmer yet, and I'm just fucked up.

  • Death is the greatest fear most people have, knowing they will eventually die and become DEAD. Religion is their only hope to escape the reality of death and the cold rotting flesh

    that awaits them.

  • only £5 a week?? xx

  • upload it again without the shit music

  • for organ doners they use ping pong balls to simulate the eye (cornea donations)

and usually the remove the internal organs and stuff the body cavity with cotton or saw dust..of course that is a old way of doing it. most just use super glue on the lips which gives the deceased a very weird look..cause there is no pressure in the lips to make them full,so they tend to wither and shrink..and injection of warm water before the viewing i imagine would cure that at least temporarily.

  • people use to sit straight the fuck up during the viewings..cause they didnt snip the spinal cord ..it didnt happen often but it did happen.lol id shit brix if it did.

  • get embalmed beotch.

  • is same to my job......

  • I saw In another video that the blood is disposed of down the sink If this is the case isn't that Illegal because blood is considered a bio-hazard & It has to be disposed In a special way.

  • @casperblackcat1975 no because when blood mixes with embalming chemicals it is totally harmless

  • The good thing about being an Embalmer is that you won't have to worry about being out of work because people die every day.

  • "This will happen to you in the end"...Who are you to say that? It won't happen this way for everyone in the end.

  • @LadyYuzuki

    LMFAO idiot

  • @LadyYuzuki What do you need to study to be an embalmer?

  • Comment removed

  • @kimkrisrich You should have a very specific knowledge of anatomy. Raising vessels is hard if you don't know where to look.

Also, you should have a basic grasp of chemistry, since you'd be dealing with various forms of alcohols, phenols, and aldehydes (mostly formaldehyde and gluteraldehyde).

One thing you should understand is the need for respect for the dead.

  • @LadyYuzuki Embalming is not that big of a deal. You, being the dead person, won't feel a thing and won't know what is going on. Plus, depending on where you are, how you died, and how long you've been dead, your body may be required to be embalmed based on various circumstances.

  • PURE BUNK

  • The music sounded like a scratched record. The interview was good. The embalmers gave good honest answers I believe. They explained in good layman terminology and were professional, too. This pushes the old saying of making sure your last wishes are known and easily accessable for loved ones to find when the time comes.

  • this will not happen to me in the end. since im a moslem i wont be embalmed. moslems doesnt embalm

  • @xzaxx it's muslim !!, can you try at least spell you're own religion correctly :/

  • thumps up if u ever dated embalmer

  • dumb, super dumb, fake,,,,,,,no one is working on a corpse

  • @papoocanada embalmers do?

  • omg

  • No this won't be me. I'm being cremated. This is morbid and archaic.

  • @noelygirl I agree, but you need to make sure you put that in your will because if they have a wake and funeral for you, then they will still embalm. I don't want any type of service for my body, just my ashes because I don't want this crap done to me!

  • turn that fucken music off!!!!!!!!!

  • LAME Music Asshole!

  • I want to become an embalmer too, this is my dream job !

I want more details about this job, where can i study?

  • dats dat pcp

  • i have no soundcard so all you people are bitchin about the music for no reason! did i mention i am the only one on this planet? lol

  • i dont know but this guy sounds like he's gonna cry!!

  • Hmmmm, the staff puts the stuff in the stiff.

  • very fascinating!!! thank you for posting this video. I'll be starting the schooling for this within this year!!!

  • mnmcatwomen27 they dont embalm thier own family

  • ...this wont be happening to me. i'd rather be cremated.

  • Can't watch this with that music! You don't need it...

  • leave em alone i say unnatural practice

  • You chose the dumbest music EVER for this video.

  • At 6:43 the music starts into what sounds like a digital remix of the main sound track from the movie Phantasm (released 1979). If so it is very fitting even though it is annoying. Fitting because the main Character in Phantasm of course was an embalmer.

  • Yeah I asked my self why am I watching this .....

  • I KNOW OF A FEW EMBALMERS WHO HAVE KILLED THEIR SELF,WHEN IT GOT TO WHERE THEY WERE DOING FAMILY AND FRIENDS,GOT TO BE TO MUCH FOR THEM.ALLSO FOUND OUT YEARS LATERTHE FUNERAL HOME WHO TOOK CARE OF MY MOM,THE GUY WAS HAVEING SEX WITH THE DEAD BODIES HOW SICK IS THAT.

  • @mnmcatwomen27 ...woah

  • @mnmcatwomen27 OH NO!!! :-(

  • you don't have to get imbalmed,I for one wont be when I die

  • I assist at a funeral home, it's money to pay bills, but rewarding and nerve wrecking as well.

  • I want to be a mortician for a living, I looked around and only found ONE school in New Jersey (Mercy County College) that has it, which is an hour away from me. I am interested in just want to embalm and dress the body, I don't want to deal with the family of the deceased, I'm not good with grieving family and friends. Anyone know any good colleges or funeral homes that would hire me?

  • @keepout7 People who assist in a funeral home but do not embalm and dress get paid crap money. To do what you want to do requires education and a licence, but there is the part of dealing with the family, paperwork, doctors, coroners, clergy, insurance companies and lawyers. If you are not ready to deal with the rest of what happens outside of the preperation room, you should consider another profession. Take the time to talk to a FD and see what is expected of you outside of preparation.

  • Thanks a lot really good information... thought me something I didn't know

  • THE UNDERTAKER. REST IN PEACE.

  • shit death is scary i dont want these fools probing me id rather they throw me in the ocean since i also loathe cremation

  • Lame! I was hoping to see some acutual embalming- all I got was a shot of a dead guy's toe tag the entire time. Lame.

  • Stopped watching Music was too much

  • the music's distracting!

  • Thumbs up for Organ Donor by Dj Shadow at the end! xD

  • seriously.. whoever made the music choice needs to re-think what they've done.. bloody rediculous... theorywise, great explanation

  • The background music was very annoying. However, I like this video simply for the words of the embalmer. He stated how important the job was, that he was providing the last image the family would see of their loved one. I never honestly thought about the importance of this job, but hearing him say it-I completely agree. I am glad there are those in this profession who take it seriously, and understand the importance of seeing your loved one at a funeral. Thanks for a job well done...!

  • I have been an embalmer/funeral director for 13 years. I am 33 years old now and I love this profession.

  • This video tried to be creepy but the embalmer and the funeral director were very professional and concerned with doing the best job possible for the family of the deceased.

  • stupid soundtrack dude!

  • the backround music was VERY annoying!

  • @727steph Yes, very difficult to hear the narration!

  • @727steph do us all a favor and get embalmed.

  • the guy sounds so sketchy!!

  • I'm going to have myself mounted like those talking fish everyone thought were so cute. Maybe I can even sell advertising, saying something like 'Brylcreame , a little dab will do ya.

  • I of course am Immortal

  • fuck,i got ribs in the oven right now too....i just lost my appetite

  • mortuary school! It must be very curious to be around dead. Very curious! HAHA I mean, outside of this and medicine..you will NEVER see this.

  • Very sad and necessary. I plan to attend a funeral school. You are doing your job. To make the grieving content.

  • They embalm because there was too many people coming back to life....and no you dont wanna wake up six feet under and no way out hahah!!

  • Why would anybody want to do this as a job? ughhhhhhhhhhhhh.................

  • it will NEVER happen to me cause im gonna become a ZOMBIE and walk the earth in search of BRAINS TO EAT !!! MMMMMMMMM YUMMY

  • Rubbish. The music and scary black & white does it no favours.

  • @plainjayne81 I THINK obama IS EMBALMED ALREDY !! CAUSE HE IS ONE STUPID FUCK !!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • RCI is good, however, It's another incision thats needs to be sewn. I prefer one incision either the carotid or the femoral.

  • this man is a fool if he thinks you can show someone how to embalm in 10 min . lots of exams and a practical exam . it took me two years

  • gusto89>>>Embalming will not necessarily happen in the end. It is not a requirement, it is an option. The requirements for disposition of human remains is different in each state & country, but embalming is not a 100% requirement in any state.

  • I am looking forward to working in this field! I can hardly contain my glee!

  • @MeiMeez me too! i am super excited as well!!!! :)

  • A dodge embalming machine is the best available, its interesting there is a Jar being used with gravity, it works but outdated. Restricted Cervical Injection is the best injection technique.

  • it was ok

  • Sorry, but dead is dead. This is superstitious mumbo-jumbo.

  • interesting

  • This video kinda sucked. Didn't show anything. What's funny is the more you watch these things, the more you realize that that's no longer you.

  • Death is not the end. Do you know where you are going when you die?

  • @julieification im going into an urn

  • @themooseisontheloose Only your body is going into an urn. Do you really think only the physical world is real? What about Love, Hatred, Intelligence, Pain. These are not physical. But they are REAL! Your brain is only an organ. It is not the originator of the emotions. Your soul is. Repent. Get on the ark Jesus Christ. He is coming for HIs bride made spotless by His blood.

  • @julieification whatever you say there reverand

  • @julieification

Emotions are chemical reactions that occur in the brain. -.-

  • @MeiMeez Then God is just having chemical reactions when in Psalm 2 it declares "He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh..." when the nations of the world unite to war against God's "Annointed "...who is Jesus Christ by the way. Or, "God is angry with the wicked every day..." Or "Jesus wept." The Bible says God is full of compassion and mercy. Maybe those are just chemicals astir. If someone murders your loved one or ones, your emotions are just chemical reactions, right?

  • @julieification There is no God. Get over it and stop whining.

  • @julieification TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I went to see my nan in the chapel of rest she looked very much at peace BUT... they made her look at least 20yrs younger which unurved me but upset a few of her daughters too but were too upset to comment on this but on another there were loads of messages of love for nan in the coffin including a letter and a picture of us both together I did think of seeing but I am glad I did and see her one final time though. I also plea to other parents to take their to see their love 1 final time though

  • I AM OLD SCHOOL I WILL BE BURIED ON MY FAMILIES LAND ILLEGALLY

  • Burn me, don't let me rot when i die

  • Party like a mortician.....grab a cold 1

  • Comment removed

  • i wana be thrown into a tar pit when i die:D

  • I don't know what's more disturbing...the content of the video, or the theme music of the piece.

  • What's wrong with embalming? I'm in school for Mortuary Science.

  • @IndyItalian

how interesting... how is it? what have you guys learned?

    i'm interested in this career.

  • I absolutely don't want to be embalmed, but I don't want to be burnt to ashes either! I guess it's up to my kids. Maybe they will just leave me in the woods....

  • @AshaleeDanyell you will be dead so you wouldnt know

  • @AshaleeDanyell plus u have to be embalmed

  • Some emo kid probably made this.

  • I won't be embalmed... I find it more than obscene to try and avoid the natural process of decay by pumping up your corpse with chemicals just so your relatives can gawk at you and try desperately to make you look as though you're still alive. It's sick. I'd opt for cremation... or even a 'green burial'... if the circumstances allow it.

  • Cremation is the best way and that’s what will happen to me when I die. Its more environmentally friendly too. Why the hell do you want to take up so much land when you are dead. If you are dead, you need to move on from this world. Unless you are some head of state or royalty.

  • Wont happen to me as I am being cremated.

  • wow

  • I am an Embalmer and was pleased to see the Funeral Directer portrayed in a good light. I also ran Cremation equipment in Florida. My wife is British and was raised in jamaica. She can sometimes feel the spirits and even descibe to me to a tee the person I embalmed. I also seen tables move ands lights black ou. So I know there is another world and believe in Jesus when he said "My Kingdom is not of this world..But now my Kngdom is from another place" John 18:36

  • @anchovyangel r u really seriouse

  • @MegaTweety79 Yes Mega I am serious. I was once a Doubting Thomas and a man of science. My sister died young and visited me in a dream. I said that this is just a dream and she started to fade. Then I saod I believe and she spoke to me about Christ. When I awoke I was still skeptic untill the volume on my radio began to increase on its own. It was beyond human physics and opened me spirtually. Then I had an epiphany when I remembered what I heard from the bible.

  • @MegaTweety79 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to hem: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."

  • @MegaTweety79 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:25-31

  • Enjoyable job as he mentions, is making that person (the deceased) as natural as possible. I wasn't as pleased with m y mother's embalming. It goes in more details like the lips and eye lids being glued. There are some funeral homes that take pride (and of course price) to make that person as natural looking in their pictures and even better. . We went through it with my brother and it very emotional.

  • No way, I'm getting me cremated, I'm not taking a chance on having an appetite for live brains!

  • my aunt told me that once a wake. they put too much liquid in the body and the body sat up in thw middle of the wake.

  • And the problem with cremation is half the time you are cremated with a few other people. . So whos ashes are your grand kids gonna be walking around with in their necklaces? heh

  • too dramatic and hyped up... Cut the thunder sound effects and just film the damn embalming in its natural glory ! Voilas ! There you have an educational video...

  • I hope when my day comes I'm sleeping, then after I'm dead feed me to the vultures.

  • A noble profession.

  • I've always found embalming to be a disgusting practice, and I've told my family that it's not to be done to me. I wish my state had a place where I could be buried naturally... Let me go back to Mother Nature by just putting me in the ground and planting a nice oak tree on top. Let me do some kind of good after I die.

  • If that is the case, you can't really do an open casket wake and the full wake-funeral-burrial. You'd have to be kept refrigerated and only brought out for the last phase of the ceremony and burial. If the body is allowed to get at all warm it can make the whole affair very unpleasant

Also, if you had the body viewed after just a a day or two being dead and unembalmed, it would look just plain gruesome with blood pooling and skin drying out..

  • Since a "green burial" is not allowed in my state, cremation is my choice. There will be no viewing, ceremony, or burial. My family knows my wishes and will abide by them.

  • @AdrienneAce in some states you can be buried on you owm property,

  • This was incredibly boring, it is not a must watch. And also a cause of death must be on the death certificate. If that takes an autopsy no one can object. Fatiguedout is wrong about the will. A will is a division of property. You may put funeral wishes in it but they legally can not be enforced.

  • Everything is good!

  • I took a course with the professor who started the Body Farm, & you either 1. ) wimp out, turn green & excuse yourself to puke your guts out, or 2. ) you suck it up & get used to it PDQ. I got used to seeing bones, skulls, dried flesh & pictures of same.

  • Now THATS entertainment !

  • it sucks that we are all going to die one day

  • ik datz y u gotta live life to da fullest bcuz 1 day datll b u

  • @stealth1692 death is only the beginning...

  • why whats after that

  • wow that's sad lol.

  • ?????

  • Heaven or hell, YOU DECIDE! lol

  • err none lol

  • u don't have a choice, either 1 or the other lol.

  • Buckethead! Thumbs up if this rings a bell ;)!

  • my dad does this and he drains the blood put the fluid in threw the artery in the leg and it makes them look much mch better,

  • do you have to get a autopsy when u die cause i don't want one. i don't want to be all cut up and all that.

  • If you die young or under unnatural causes---autopsy. If you are old and sick, usually not.

  • @ladybug19791 Don't worry you won't feel anything you will be dead. : )

  • @cphtec :I know i will be dead but i don't want to be cut up. I want to go out the same way i came into this world, whole.

  • only if the cause of your death is unknown

  • WHERE IS COSMIO PROPELLOR?

  • its not all about draining the blood and the orange stuff. youre suppose to do their hair and make up

  • I drink 151 Whiskey, I'm already embalmed,.

  • LOL You so stupid LOL!!!!!!!!!

  • @ Alrozz---ROFLMBO ...you're a damn fool..HAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • @alrozz Hahahah true that me too

  • @alrozz its pretty bad when the bottle says "CAUTION: HIGHLY FLAMMABLE"

  • @alrozz i can't keep it down

  • This is really interesting I have always wondered how they managed to preserved the body & stop it from decomposing before someone is laid to rest.

  • This is why people get cremated!

  • @kaniela42 they still open u up and cut u up if you get cremated. If you die outside of a hospital and are not on hospice, the fucking government needs to peek inside of u to see what you died of. I know it sucks, but what can we do?

  • Not so long ago and throughout early history people were buried in the ground without any of this U S government regulated BS.

Many Indian tribes bury their dead without government interference. Forced autopsies and Embalming is wrong. Dig a hole, stick em in the dirt and fill it in if that is your choice. That is certainly my choice. This old body has been through enough and it don't need some (asshole) cutting it up at my families expense.

    :)

  • yes i know. natives have it somewhat good. I think you can request not to be autospied if you put it in to a WILL and then have it notorized.

  • This was one of the best docs on the subject I have seen so far. Wish it was longer...

  • be ready, cause in the end, all of us will be dead, only pic and a tag on our toes.......

  • now lets all go watch Night Of The Living Dead!

  • To spend so much money to preserve and store a corpse. Cremation is cheaper, and religious - uh - diatribe aside, all cultures do it relatively differently. Ideally, I would be left in the woods and critters could feed and I could go back into nature. Any creator that can make a universe isn't going to have trouble finding your spirit - not like a coffin keeps your soul like friggin tupperware.

  • I agree. There are these newer "green burials" where you are wrapped in a shroud or put in a simple pine box & buried without all the embalming & fanfare & instead of the typical headstones, they will engrave your name & dates on a boulder/natural stone. Sadly, with so few, the ones in existence are quite pricy. I live in NJ & the closest on is in North Carolina. So, when I bite the big one, I choose to be cremated & would like to be used as bone meal for a flower garden.

  • lol I thought you said engraved on the shoulder bone for some reason XD. You didn't, but now that I think of it, dood that's a good idea... o.o!!

  • Well said, kerry5101971. I would like to be fertilizer for a nice oak tree.

  • @AdrienneAce What's your favorite oak? I love pin oaks & how awesome to be nourishment for the symbol of knowlegde! In our living wills, our survivors have the options of donating our bodies to science or cremating us, but we clearly stipulated that we don't want to be pumped full of chemicals & painted up to be put on display. May neither of us have to worry about where our mortal remains wind up for a long, long time Adrienne, but let your family know what you want, just in case.

  • @kerry5101971 I am partial to red oaks as we have many here in my part of Pennsylvania. I, too, appreciate the symbolism of wisdom, long life, and strength of the oak. Yes, my family knows of my wishes. I also told them that if they embalm and bury me I'll come back and haunt them for sure. Not that I believe that, of course. lol My usable parts and pieces will be donated first with the remainder of me to be cremated and given back to Mother Nature.
