  • emailtonadia, Thank You - how about writing part 1, part 2... so I can follow the video ??

  • good video. lousy audio,

  • Audio is useless. Re-do it.

  • WELCOME...visit GPABSKY.com website for the ARTIST. ty!

  • I didn`t even know that, Oil paint, would adhered to Acrylic ! ?

  • @jazzmanzoot but not the other way round !!!

  • @ghike30 Thanks Bud.

    I`ve a lot to learn, I know ! LOL

  • I really enjoyed one of your other videos, but there's just not way I can listen to two people speak at once. Is there any reason why the audio for both needs to be included?

  • oil paint is toxic and no good for the environnement. Acryclic lasts longer and keeps it color and shape. Even Art Galleries are beginning to refuse oil paintings.

  • where did you get this information?

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks From my professional painting teacher.

It's only logical when you think of it to say that acrylic lasts longer, it's like plastic.

and some acrylics are also toxic though, you need to read the label.

  • thank you!

(but im still not totally convinced) anyway i was actually refering to your other comment....''galleries are refusing oil paintings''

ive not heard of this either!

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks well, I'm in Quebec, maybe it's only here :)

  • I rarely draw. Why draw when you can paint right on it?

  • ok to make sure I am correct of what the old master is saying I am going to each stage if I am not correct please correct me thanks

1 draw what you going to paint

    2 use the black thing

    3 use Acrylic paint

4 paint the final panting wirh oil paint.

NOTE this include preparing the canves.

  • can someone please tell me what the black thing he is over doing with the original drawing?

  • what is this paint by numbers with grandpa.

  • oh cool... i dident knew that the old masters had acrilic... haha

  • no ground color ? kinda selling one's self short . When I was in school we didn't utilize such a ridged drawing . just blocked it out in underpainting.

IMO a strict drawing ( or as some do cheat and project onto canvas ) you might as well open a coloring book.

and he should be stretching his own canvas for the video instead of pre stretched.

any color theory videos around ? good ones ? truly masters ? advanced ?

  • Thankyou for sharing

  • not a single particle of graphite has to touch the canvas.

  • what do you think about velasquez 17th century

  • Subtitles please!

  • I think it's fine. I am sure most do. I understand English and can distinguish the original language from the English. It's also a sort of respect to the artist to not mute his voice. I think ultimately subtitles would be best but how can one complain when it's free :)

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • The translator is talking because it's not in english. You wouldn't be confused if there weren't someone explaining the techniques?

  • That there's a translator isn't a problem.

The problem is that the original language and the translator are at roughly the same volume, and have similar tonal pattern in their voices. This makes it difficult to distinguish between the two speakers.

In short, the audio needs tweaking. Original audio needs to be dialed down, and the translation up.

  • I REALLY wish only one person was talking...I had such a hard time understanding.

  • isn't it kind of unessesary to make the corrections to the black acrylic with the titanium white? doesnt this all get covered anyway?

  • i learned how to do this in art school. If you had to meet a deadline like weekly homework. It is just a shortcut with the understanding that if you didn't have the time restraints, you would be doing all these layers in oil.

of course in this market. you need to produce more work to survive.

  • Comics, as a whole, are a great way into the world of art. Check out the work of David McKean or Kent Williams! Anime is a bit too formulated, but whatever gets kids motivated I support!

  • Your Videos are EXCELLENT! Only one complaint,

    The interpreter is too loud.

I only speak English, but the other voice is louder than yours.

I do appreciate getting to watch it though.

Thank you for sharing with us.

  • Very good! where did you get it?? i really like it!

  • I draw amateur Anime I'm 14 yrs old m

  • there is nothing wrong with drawing anime but try to draw some real people aslo you will see that your anime/real people drawings will improve.

  • With the exception of a few of the highest talent, almost all of the animes you're a fan of will have been done by people who have training in traditional artwork. If you really want to improve your artwork (anime or otherwise), I would highly recommend taking some life drawing classes, as it is an excellent way to learn the theory that was used to create the formulas for anime drawings.

Best of luck with your art, hope we get to see some of it in an anime on the big screen some day :)
