Depends what Battlefield you're talking about. If it's 1942, then the Mac mini can handle it fine - it's a relatively old game. If you're talking about 2142, which you probably are, then no you'll need a more powerful graphics card.

You OBVIOUSLY just proved you're no expert gamer (as I am). So let me explain, for FPS games, it should be at LEAST 45fps, and I personaly get a maximum of 18fps with 1gb of ram. And as for "lag" I obviously mean sys-lag (system lag) meaning it's a delay caused by the system in SP. For example, when I throw a nade (grenade) into a field with a lot of dust, the explosion happens and drags down to about 6 or 7fps and the sound is delayed (or lagged).

And 60fps in an FPS game means it has the FASTEST moving and updating refresh rates, meaning when someone jumps out in front of you you see more than a moving blob (ps. the human eye sees at about 27-30fps) And in a movie you won't notice it because you're not trying to control it.

No, when people benchmark they use the average FPS, so at average you're scraping by at only 27fps, when the graphics get intense or an action sequence you're going to drop frames, so 60fps would mean that when you move the mouse a lot (to aim and stuff), you'll have enough extra fps so that the lowest it'll ever get to (with dust and all the high graphics crap) the lowest will be around 30-32fps.

Apple use quality parts which are made for the mac, The Intel Core Duos that go into a mac is desgined diffrently from a pc so intel are gona make apple pay through the nose on those. And besides, when you move the mouse around a lot (which you do in FPS games) it slows the frame rate, so when MEASURING it it should be 50-60fps so that when you move your mouse around a LOT and explosions, dust, lots of corpses, characters, etc. it should only drop down to 30fps so that you get smooth action ALL throughout the gameplay, not just staring at a wall

There isnt a lot i can say about this as i dont spend my time playing games. However, at work i use a windows XP machine and at home i use a Mac. There is no comparrison between these Mac is so far ahead. Ask yourself this, is Vista a 7 year advancment (7 years? i dunno maybe 5, but its somwhere around that). If you think it is, just go and look how Linux has changed over those 5-7 years and how Mac OS has changed over that time period.

The mac mini is the same specs as this and its great, its almost gets a better ffs than my macbook pro :P ( i think it needs a re-image lol) Apples are built far better than any windows PC on the market and they hold value, as a designer i really admire the work that goes into the whole apple range :), Im using a mac all day for designing and its a dream.
