This is still one of the coolest songs that I have ever heard. The laid back beat, the lush background vocal, the way that the lead Bernard Jackson and Regina Belle put it down up front, this song is a masterpiece in it's own right. Like another commenter on this page said, music will never be this way again. Thankfully, we have the internet with sites like YouTube, Rhapsody, etc., that allows us to go back and listen to those wonderful songs of yesteryear. I am very thankful for that:)

Thankzillion Suttles1972 for all the updates. I was only teen when 1st heard of "Surface". Love their music. Sad to know that they can't make GREAT music together again.

Surface was a great band. The lead singer, Bernard Jackson with bassist and flute player, David Pic Conley and guitarist David Townsend were the members. It saddens me to say that David Townsend is deceased. I believe that this will prevent Surface from ever being a band again. Last I heard, Conley is an A&R man for a record company and Jackson is recording with a low budget record company. Whatever the case, these gentlemen are placed in R&B history for there timeless classics.
