  • Peter attia seems to be doing pretty good after 7 months of ketosis?

  • @mikecazzx NOBODY is in ketosis for 7 months and able to function in society lol!

  • @durianriders The War On Insulin - check him out - hard to argue with his results?

  • @clarkision That cap on his head makes anybody look sick. I notice a big difference in his vids (DR ditch that cap).

  • @h2m1ify Last I head it was paleo diet not daleo. So many haters on this page, jealous fat people feeling sorry for themselves.

  • Keeping it real, like always. This lifestyle makes so much sense to me, you speak the truth.

  • Monkeys eat other monkeys. Perhaps when he was referring to insects, he was referring to aborigines who eat grubs, ants etc.

  • Do I have to exercise to lose fat? Cause like I'm think of being a raw vegan in about 3-5 months. Please answer

  • Comment removed

  • For one month, I ate all the fruit I felt any time I felt hungry, especially bananas. My weight always remained anywhere from 117-120 pounds, which was normal for me Afterwards, I spent three weeks eating a lot of dessert, and my weight shot up to 130 pounds, making me ten pounds overweight. Just because fruits have carbohydrates, it does not mean it's the same as desserts.

Clearly, fruits are not fattening, not even bananas. It's a personal experience.

  • @sabby123456789 Just because fruits are unlikely to make you grow fat doesn't mean it won't stop you from losing it. The main problem lies in refined carbs - from bread and pasta to all the sweets - those are the things that actually make you fat and eventually diabetic.

  • I hate it when he overuses the word paradigm..ketosis gives you bad breath really bad breath smelly stinky bad breath and atkins makes your shit as hard as bricks

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya I laugh at people who think meat causes heart attacks. Do the native Aboriginals of Australia have heart attacks? No! And they eat a lot of kangaroo. Perhaps we can tell them how wrong they have been for thousands of years, and tell them to eat bananas, which are abundant in the outback instead. For the record, refined vegetable oils (trans fats), grains and processed foods is what causes heart disease. At least we can all agree those foods are bad.

  • @waynebw Dude the aboriginals never got studied properly but reports say they died pretty early. Humans are survivors and will eat their own babies if they have too (China Famine) and all my mates that eat kangaroo are fat, bloated and slow as fuck. A couple are lean for now but run on SHIT LOADS OF CAFFEINE lol! Nice people all the same.

Grains give heart disease? Hey wanker, go read Dr Esselstyn's CLINICALLY published book on reversing heart disease and get back to me eh? ;)

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya peace love and light baby mmmwwaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you as a hcrv fruiter, what do you do for efa's? omega 3-6-9 supliments? hemp seed?

  • @chuckMvideos i meant hempseed protein or oils, not so much the seeds.

  • @chuckMvideos fruits and veg. eat some hemp if you want. fruit and veg have it all.

  • @chuckMvideos

EFA's are found in sufficent quantities in most fruits and vegetables, with Dark Leafy greens having decent amounts.

Its more important to reduce your omega 6 levels than to increase your omega three's. The ratio is more important than the amount. If you are eating sufficient carbs, then you will not use fats as fuel, only as building blocks for tissues such as brain matter and cell walls. The body recycles the majority of fats so the amount we need for this purpose is very low.

  • can diet cure disease? the answer is it can if the previous diet caused disease. the USA food pyrmid balanced diet causes disease. period end of story. you can keep a sick man on that diet to the calorie and kill him.

  • @NathanSnyder13 to continue... I used this diet I found for free online by "Healing Naturally With Bee." As a vegetarian for about 10 years, I was definitely NOT happy to eat meat. I currently do not eat meat again, btw. Her diet healed me in 6 months of candidiasis. My hormone, chloresterol, t-levels and whatever else fell into "extremely healthy" range and I dropped 40 lbs easily. Caveman/Primal really makes sense evolutionarily. But I don't want to eat animals... sucks. Going vegan again. :-(

  • Yeah, Mark Sisson is right in this video... The carbs give you blood sugar rushes, and eventually you develop hypoglycemia. More than 50% of Americans have hypoglycemia. When your blood sugar is low (like when you skip one of those frequent carb meals) your adrenals do release cortisol and adrenaline in a stress response to raise your blood sugar. If I remember correctly, Durianrider your blood test had low cortisol. This is not a good sign

  • U know why I watch your videos? Because ur not scared to speak the fcuking truth!! Raw foods FTW!

  • When I went on a vegan diet over a year ago and then turned raw vegan, I went from 185lbs now to 120lbs. I have a small frame so 185lbs was borderline obese. Brought my risk for a heart attack down. I get more protein now than I did when I was eating meat at least 3 times a day to control my hypoglycemia. My hypoglycemia went away. I get much more calcium and iron. I am thinner than I want to be but I'm also learning about 80/10/10 and I'm slowly applying what I'm learning. I proved RVD works.

  • you seriously put a paypal link to take donations....your a joke

  • People hunted in groups though man with tools, not rocks or barehanded!

I still don't know what I think about the paleo diet, but I think it's definitely true that we have hunting in a lot of our evolutionary past. I'm not sure how much fruit they ate though...

  • Harley, I was tired of dieting and excercising and still holding on to the extra weight I had gained in my 40s. I have been eating raw fruits, green juices and vegetables for 3 weeks now and the only excercise besides walking the dogs is 7 sessions of Bykram yoga and I have lost 10 lbs, I have eaten so many bananas in the last 3 weeks I have lost count. it was ridiculous. Never hungry. I am a believer now. Love your videos. You give me so much inspiration and information. Thanks

  • I want to see Durian Rider run by a mango tree and pick up a rotten, bug infested mango from the ground, eat it and say: "Raw Food Vegan Yhaaaa!

  • great job harley!

  • By the way I don't agree with a lot of what mark says. For example I think fruits whole grains and legumes are very healthy but the diet is working for him. I also don't believe the atkins diet is healthy by any stretch of the imagination.

  • i love how he cusses LOLZ!

  • @paintball2936: I would like to know what you eat and what you think is a healthy diet? I have learned that emotions both negative or really positive can be used to promote true information and false information. Regardless of how negative or positive Durianrider is, he is speaking the truth. If you think that it is "natural" to eat a cow, then you should be able to run right up to one and bite right into it's back and enjoy it. Our species diet is simple, eat what tastes good from nature Period

  • Durian, I'll be honest, I eat a high fruit "paleo"diet and am embarrassed by some of the crap that comes out of mercola's/sisson's mouth. Ignorant carb bashing to the fullest.

  • Dang man I am with you Durian! The Raw way to eat I think is just the healthiest ever. I am going to need you to ask you a couple of questions I am sure, but fruit and veggies I think I can do! Beef, pork are awful for me, and in the next 10 days, no more chicken, or fish for me anymore. Hate to throw it out but if after last family affair there is chicken or fish left, I will send it with them when they leave. Wish you the best. I will be in contact with you if it is okay. :)Blessings!!

  • Good video. I liked what you said about transparency and common sense. I also have a friend who went on the Atkins diet. His health is a mess now.

  • Wait. Did you just imply that a banana has more carbs than a donut(12:14)? Your credibility is running pretty thin, man.

  • @9Mystere9 An average donut has around 20g of carbs. A large banana has around 30g. Obviously bananas and donuts come in different sizes. Then you have dried banana at 70g of carbs per 100g edible portion.

  • @9Mystere9 are you mistaking carbs with calories ?

  • @PUTTHEGUNDOWNNOW Why did you wait until you gained 30 lbs? You sound like a troll to me. Most people would have adjusted their diet or dropped it altogether after gaining 5 lbs., but you stuck with it to 30? You're a fraud.

  • Check out the end product .Vego's are skinny little Runts with Caved in Heads, sunkin in Jaws,Lost most of there putrifying teeth, skinny necks and root each other in the arse .... Meat eaters especially Paleo, well .... Look good, great teeth, strong bodies, don't stink like a vego, physical fitness of an animal ... thank you

Mercola and Sisson are in their 50's ... come on !! Raw butter and Cod Liver Oil will get the blood back into your Brain ...!!!

  • @ThePhantomLash If eating meat was so natural like this snake oil sellers sell and tell then how come they make 99% of their profits from selling their fad diet followers thousands of dollars per year of supps? lol!

Lower the fat content in your diet and your blood platelets will be less sticky. That means more oxygen to your brain for mental clarity so the next time some one tells you do eat dog food and rancid fish oil with a bag of pills and potions you will be able to laugh at em. :)

  • @durianriders

    wrong wrong wrong.

the lower fat content in your diet will lower all cholestral even the good healthy HDL cholestral that is used to heal and clean your arteries and veins. If you get rid of this kind of cholesterol your blood platelets will be more sticky!

  • durian u live in the woods. do you have access to the latest nutrition/health research? look up gary taubes.

i agree its good to eat raw vegan foods. but our body needs fat. look how much fat is in most nuts and seeds... its well over 70%! There's no difference getting your fat from animals or nuts.

  • Don Tolman ....

  • If you gained weight on paleo, it's because you went about it in a way that isn't smart. Go to fitday.com and count your calories vs. calories burned. Paleo is an excellent way to rid oneself of addictions to gluten, corn, soy, refined sugar, and all manner of processed foods. A sincere raw vegan with foresight would see that paleo is closely related to their lifestyle and that it could even be a gateway. You can't expect the world to miraculously go from SAD to to 100% RV overnight. Patience.

  • The best thing about both diets is no processed foods. It's healthier and better for the environment for someone to eat some local grass-fed beef or wild salmon or yam with a bunch of produce instead of eating a bag of tortilla chips or gluten waffles. Grain production absolutely kills the environment. I've never heard of a paleo who advocates corporate cattle farming. If we all ate nothing but fish, grass-fed meat, and fresh produce, we'd be much better off. I have no problem with paleo.

  • Hi, Harley. I am spreading your message at my blog. I am putting up a link exposing the WAPF's nonsense. I have a video PROVING that Dr. William Castelli ( head of Framingham, and who WAPF like to "quote") saying "the vegetarian diet is the BEST diet you can eat". 39:09 of the Charlie Rose video from 1997 on YouTube. Do a search of "Ornish 1997"

Please use this to expose Sisson and those frauds. We have video proof Dr. William Castelli backs the vegetarian way, NOT them at all.

  • @TopNotchScience Thanks TNS. Yeah, Castelli makes it clear for sure!

  • Hey Banana Joe, you're the living proof that a high carb and fructose diet damages everything above the neck........Uh-uh-uuhhh-uh.....

  • @apiratenamedbob Gold ....

  • Also, you said he doesn't talk about exercising? He has a free PDF 96 page book talking about fitness. He talks about a person should be SPRINTING 10 minutes once a week, how people should lift heavy things once a week, and has an entire system on body weight exercises with numerous variations depending on your current level. Atkins suggested the same thing.

As for fruits and vegetables, Mark's food pyramid is MOSTLY fruitsveggies with meat being 2nd. The lack of fat is affecting your head.

  • This video is beyond terrible. He has supplements because our diet isn't nearly as close as our ancestors, which is a saturated market to begin with.. Before we had tons of animal and didn't suffer from all sorts of problems. In fact, Weston Price did a study of this called "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" where he observed natives who had primary meat and lived very healthy, then when switched to carb heavy diets, started developing problems. Its public domain now, so read it now.

  • Harley is a hero fro putting up this video. he tells it exactly like it is. Just think of all the people who are setrting themselves up for angina listening to Mark Sisson and his garbage. All that guy wants to so is seperate you from you money.

I am glad Harley had the balls to stand up to that charlatan. His readers have no clue how bad they are being scammed. Meanwhile Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn is reversing plaques. Low fat raw vegan all the way !

  • Hey Harley you are so right I actually tried Mark Sissons diet for a while since it was recommended by a family member I lost a little weight but I felt like Crap all that fat and protein it made me so sluggish and ill feeling and so mentally blocked and weak. Living a high fruit and veggie diet living this way for awhile now great energy and so mentally sharp and so much stronger best shape I have been in over a decade. Love the videos Harley. Mark Sisson just another Product Pusher!!

  • If you notice, at 4:33, Mark says "we lived on meat, fish, foul, eggs, insects," etc.. but he completely neglects to mention we also ate human flesh throughout much of the lower and middle paleolithic era. To eat a real primal diet, YOU MUST EAT HUMAN FLESH.

Also, just to be anatomically correct, "humans," didn't even exist 2.5 million years ago. The earliest human remains date back ~ 195,000 years.

  • @1imesub You're being fussy & nitpicky. Sisson never said to eat insects or human flesh, & "Primal" is his own term for his program. If you want to be technically correct, you want to say if you want to eat paleo. How's that for being anal retentive ;)

  • @bradfordsketch agreed & this nutcase basically believes that eating 50 bananas a day is reasonable.Newflash to all of those who are even remotely considering this. This guy runs/cycles for hours a day. That is why he eats so many fruits. He literally needs to burn so many calories of glucose to power himself thanks to the constant aerobic respiration occurring. In any case,Mr. "Durian," you also advocate that what you do is better for the planet, but tell me. How can every1 eat 50 bananas a day?

  • @ITakeYourFood It would catapult the carbon footprint of human beings, that's for sure - shipping that amount of plants to feed a world of raw vegans. I'd love to know what tropical wonderland your going to clear to grow all that food as well. I also agree on the nature of how the diet can work for some, any "success" story I've come across the person is either an avid runner/cyclist or some other form of high aerobic.

  • You look ill

  • Lol

  • Mark Sisson has hosted three day primal/paleo lifestyle conventions for the last two years. Not only does he have recent and widely available pictures from these events, but dozens of fans and followers go there to literally meet him face to face and spend an entire weekend in his presence . He's ripped, significantly more so than you, and he's probably twice your age.

  • @StyrofoamJones ... hahah owned!!!! 56 ad rippped!!!

  • Does Sisson even have any diplomas? He's probably spewing lies out of his ass.

  • @raidenshian If a diet's not working for you, don't do it... You know your own body better than durianrider does...

  • Does anyone else come here just to watch the food "experts" fight?

  • But remember that breads and pasta are often heavily processed and have different types of chemicals used during production. Next time take a look at the ingredients of the average bread at the store. Do you even know what most of these ingredients actually are? Perhaps it's these different chemicals and processed foods that are causing IBS and not the grain itself.

I do respect what you say though, and I am in no way trying to criticize you.

  • (Continued) Domesticated cows and pigs eat carbohydrate rich foods, and move around little and are therefore fat. Horses eat carbohydrate rich foods as well but are rarely fat because the move around a lot more than the average pig, cow, and even humans.

How well humans digest grains versus the ways animals do it, is a different topic. However, oats when consumed sensibly by humans, have been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels.

  • @sabby123456789 Sabby, your argument is that grains don't make people fat, because horses eat them and aren't fat. You compared them (horses that aren't fat) to the argument that grains make pigs and cows fat (two animals that don't eat grains in their natural habitat) I don't see how this logic disproves the argument put forth by an "ignoramus", as you put it.

  • Like I said before, the issue is not on grains, it's about carbohydrate rich foods which is inclusive of grains. Also, I never said grains do not make people fat, only if a person eats them without burning it via physical activity does grains or any type of carbohydrate rich foods makes someone fat. Wild horses, cows, and pigs do not have a sufficient access to grains in the wild. Domesticated ones however are fed grains.

But enough about grains, the topic here is carbohydrate consumption.TY

  • (Continued) What I'm trying to say here is that carbohydrates do not necessarily make someone fat. It really comes down to how much of it gets burned, and I do not mean "calories in versus calories out" because it has been suggested that humans do not process calories the same way as a calorimeter does.

  • My point was not the digestibility of grains in mammals, but rather the effects of carbohydrate consumption on them. Many people use the argument that cows and pigs are fed high-carbohydrate foods like grains to fatten them up for slaughter, and therefore are bad because it contains carbohydrates which will lead to inevitable fat gain. Horses on the other hand are also fed grains which are high in carbohydrates but are rarely fat because of the amount of physical activity they perform.

  • Hi carb eating and processed fake foods in jars boxes and cans made me fat...meats, vegetables, fruits made me lean and mean and because of the Paleo diet....I reversed 3 generations of cardiovascular disease in my family!!! I don't have issues because MEAT IS GOOD FOR MY ATERIES AND VEINS AND BLOOD...SUCK ON THAT HARLEY!!!

  • The best part is he gets mad at Mark for selling supplements and "making a killing". Sounds like jealousy to me. No one buying Harley's 2000 dollar phone call consulting? Awwwww

  • Some anti-carbohydrate activists state that, "carbohydrates make you fat, that's why they feed grain to pigs and cows in order to fatten them up. Therefore all carbohydrates and grains should be avoided".

If anyone ever runs across an ignoramus like these then tell them, "horses eat grains, are they fat?".

  • Hey Harley, how does it feel fighting a losing battle? You obviously attack the paleo/primal crowd because they are most threatening to you and your message. Ever stop to realize that all you ever did was go from one addiction to another?

  • @neimaD11 Your spot on. Im fighting a losing battle cos people are eating more animals than ever and actually think its healthy lol! We are chopping down more rainforest in 3rd world countries to make way for cheap 'grass fed' animal flesh. Humanities existence is being threatened by the meat and dairy industries. We have fished out over 90% of the worlds large fish stocks in our pursuit for 'omega 3' all the while forgetting about the methyl mercury brain damage statistics.

    Im a health junkee.

  • @durianriders That's the thing Harley. You're putting people under the notion that eating animals is unhealthy. I agree that eating factory farmed and conventionally raised animals is unhealthy. Eating naturally raised free range grass fed wild caught animals IS healthy. It is a travesty the current condition of our food supply. But people are slowly but surely becoming more aware and more educated about what real food is and how it should be grown and raised. Just give it time Harley.

  • @durianriders That's the thing Harley. You're putting people under the notion that eating animals is unhealthy. I agree that eating factory farmed conventionally raised animals is UNhealthy. But eating naturally raised wild caught grass fed free range animals IS healthy. It is a travesty the current condition of our food supply. But there are people out there slowly but surely learning what real food is and how it is suppose to be raised and grown. Change doesn't occur overnight. Give it itime.

  • @durianriders Grass fed animal flesh isn't cheap. It's more expensive. It costs more to raise animals humanely than to pack them into stalls, force feed them grain and then send them off to slaughter. Aren't you actually supposed to know your facts?

  • @durianriders You do DRESS like a junkie

  • @neimaD11 It's not a losing battle at all. Look up the stats. The percentage of Americans who are vegetarian has more than tripled since 1970. Vegetarianism is growing even faster in Western Europe, especially in Great Britain. There are 400 million vegetarians in India alone. More and more research is showing that we don't need meat to be healthy, and that we are in fact healthier without it. Do I believe a vegetarian diet is the right choice for everyone? YES.

  • @1imesub Yes, there are several million vegetarians in India. I will tell you that many of them are overweight. My husband is from there and his family is vegetarian with the exception of eating eggs. Every one of the adults are overweight, any many others I've met are skinny fat. They use a ton of oil in their food and eat a ton of bad carbs. Additionally, heart disease there is extremely high in otherwise 'healthy' looking individuals. Being a vegetarian does not automatically = healthy.

  • @InMyImagination They need to give up the dairy and refined oils. Vegan diet is where it's at; vegetarian is just a good start.

  • @InMyImagination Yeah well Indian food is pretty high fat, haven't you noticed? And also, dairy is fattening. So yes, the Indian vegetarians are probably really unhealthy, but it has nothing to do with not eating flesh..

  • @wylieedwards So could you simply put up what the guy ate and in what amounts during his life. Telling me he was vegan doesnt tell me much.

  • LOL

  • Awesome vid! Lol my response video shows up on the side! (to the great health mass debate) YAY I love you Durianrider. You should put out a product "Clued Up Or Clueless" including some of these videos and more :)

  • get up, step up, carb up :) love it :)

  • Harley I have a question. You say when people go vegan, high carb, low fat, on fruits OR EVEN STARCHES, the weight drops down, and they are eating as much as they want. (6:40-6:50). What starches does this include and what kinds? Brown rice or white? Wheat and gluten free pasta, or just regular white pasta? I have read 811, and I don't remember it talking about starches. Thanks! Christa :)

  • @ThePreppyHippie This is my own personal observation with thousands of people vs what I read in a book somewhere. Ive NEVER found a fat person that lives on white or brown rice and or fruits and veg etc. NEVER! lol!

Once you throw oil and or animal products into the equation then yeah, they get fat unless they calorie restrict but its not the CARBS fault ever.

I say starches are good and fruit is the BEST. Neither will make one fat longterm. Id love someone to prove me wrong sometime lol!

  • @ThePreppyHippie You can eat all kind of starch by itself and will never gain weight. Dr John McDougall and the Starch Solution has a lot of information on this subject. I`m on a semi McDougall semi as much fruit I can muster day.. need to include more greens of course.. but this is something I really believe is my path. =)

  • @ThePreppyHippie no added salt

  • @raidenshian stay away from 811 its an idealistic diet not based in reality

  • @raidenshian Well you need to read 811 and cut out the excess fat you are consuming. You need to understand that the ONLY way to TOTALLY get rid of candida is to kill yourself literally.

    So yeah, read 811. :)

  • @durianriders uhm...dude....what scientific evidence did you base that load of crap on? that is complete rubbish. yes, you can have fungus/candida in your body, however a live blood microscopy should show that your blood is cleaning the candida. if it cant clean it, it will eventually fight it and thats how certain blood cancers start. maybe learn some science and/or biology or something.

  • @durianriders when mercola says ..."we ate little to no veggies for 2 -1/2 Million years" do your homework and blow this charlatan out of the water with source after source of the species we are closest related too and human dietetic evolution.

  • OMG. All my friends are on that Dukan diet!! And they tell me: "Hey, I'm loosin weight, this diet works." But all they're loosing is water weight, about 2kg the first week, and they're always in such a bad mood, so undercarbed. Those diets are becoming SO famous here in Spain, even doctors and nutritionists recommend them, it's insane.

The 80 10 10 vegan diet (even if it isn't 100% raw) works. All those diets slow down the metabolism and the body becomes a perfect "storing machine".

  • Nice video! What does your shirt say?

  • I lost weight listening to you ! I have mega energy can run forever!! (;

  • This is an excellent video and it tells the truth. I have gained a lot of weight listening to people like Mark Sisson, Anthony Colpo and the rest of the Paleolithic guys in the last 4 years. I really want to lose the 60 pounds I gained being taken in by those people. Never again.

Thanks, Harley, and please spread this video around.

  • Comment removed

  • @TopNotchScience You might have gained weight listening to Mark Sisson dude, but there is no way you would gain weight if you actually applied what Mark says - it is scientifically and biologically impossible. There is a saying in paleo/primal circles when asked if paleo/primal works - "yes...it works.....if you do it", clearly you didnt do it or it would have worked for you.

  • @wylieedwards Ok how about you present me a scientific answer. Lets assume that ketosis is "better". On average how many calories of what foods would I need to consume for a fit/atheltic guy weighing 97 kilos. I exercise 4 times per week and this includes pullups/pushups/heavy situps/sprints/jogging. Typically 1 to 1.5 hours high intensity per session.

  • @pac0re Dont assume - do some research about what you profess to know, and then come back and refute scientific evidence with scientific evidence. Mark Sisson and others put out their evidence that Harley so eloquently tries to refute, yet once again all you vegans can do is get emotional. I am sure this is caused by something lacking in your diet. Also, with regard to your workout question, I will not be offering you free consulting time - you can go pay for that yourself.

  • @TopNotchScience If you gained 60 lbs. on the Paleo diet, then you never excercised and you never ate the right portions. In other words you ate more calories than you burned.....DUH!!! I lost 30lbs in a month and a half on Paleo without working out, but I kept to portion control which means 6 oz not 10 oz. for your cuts of meat and unlimited veggies. No matter what you eat at each meal you never never never eat more than what you are going to expend. It's not rocket science its common sense

  • Hey Harley, I found a video of MS from 2010. Please note how incredibly carefully they cropped out his arms and anything below the pecs, at least in the part of the vid I watched. Hmmm! v=z91yWqXYztM

  • Harley, who is the athlete at 14:10 in the video, that guy is jacked!

  • @Manofaction20psi thats me bro :p

  • @pac0re Do you eat raw or vegan, or something? Whats your name dude? Whats your deal?

  • @Manofaction20psi lol i joke bro... im not that dude.. but im pretty close ... im a vegan high raw .. i weigh a muscular 97 kg and dont eat protein :p

my diet consits of high calorie fruits. greens, salads, rice, water (lol).. low fat high carb is key to keeping a good level of fitness in my experience.. to say that i dont eat protein would probably be a lie since its in practiaclly everything, but you wont find me seeking "protein" foods in hope of muscular recovery. I just eat lots of carbs.

  • Well said, someone has to get angry at all this shit talking, money making, suppliment selling, fear inducing illogical nonsense!

  • love this video Harley. i added it to my chanel and sharing on facebook too. well done. u make really well made videos that are interesting and engaging to watch, but also to listen with the content. thanks a mil bro. keep it up ! :) Owenfox

  • awesome harley, THE FRAUDS!

  • Fruitarian = I.V. drip.

  • @keithallenlaw What a well thought out, informed statement that totally makes a lot of sense and really contributes!

  • @Spinfuze Thanks.

  • cheers for videos dude

  • I love you viedos.....You and Freelee inspire me....How to become 90% raw one day.

  • A video a day, happy days :)

  • "On the other hand fruit's not a great choice if you're trying to lose weight...uh because it is a high source of sugar, um but you're uh, you're uh... " HAHAHA! Cracks me up!

  • 15:08 Brendan Brazier! WOOH

  • Mercola and Sisson should be in jail. The body is already in starvation mode when in ketosis, that´s why there are no warning signs by skipping meals. The fire alarm doesn´t ignite because it´s already playing. The fact that humans do not have a single physiologic or morphologic characteristic of meat eaters is clear cut proof that generally speaking we have never consumed meat in any period of time substantial to our formation or evolution. After fruit, starch was always our staple.

  • @XES119 I'm a physician. What do you think the canines are for? That's a morphologic characteristic right there. Physiologically? Vegetable eaters have organs called "fermenting vats." Ruminants in animals like cows & deer have these. Humans don't have these. Dogs (carnivores) have intestinal specializations more characteristic of omnivores than carnivores such as cats. The number of crypts and cell types is a better indication of diet than simple length. That's some proof that we're omnivores.

  • @ITakeYourFood

    You´re not a physician. You´re a fucking baby.

Canines in carnivores are designed to kill their prey through puncturing of the blood vessels. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A HUMAN, EVEN IN A PICTORESQUE REPRESENTANTION WHERE OUR CANINES COULD BE OF SUCH USE. SHOW US HOW IT´S DONE IF YOU DOUBT. A LOT OF PLANTIVORE ANIMALS HAVE HUGE CANINES USED FOR DEFENSE.

WE ARE NOT HERBIVORES. WE DON´T EAT GRASS. WE ARE FRUGIVORES. LIKE ALMOST ALL OTHER PRIMATES. GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

  • @ITakeYourFood

All primates (such as gorillas) are vegetable eaters and they don't have "fermenting vats". And they do have canines. Therefore, you're wrong.

Of course you can still play with definition and say that since some primates occasionally eat meat they must be "omnivores". However, all primates eat at most minimal amounts of meat for merely opportunistic reasons and they don't need it anyways.

    Therefore, neither do humans.

  • @mandalacolorato

More than 5 million years of evolution separates primates and humans AT THE LEAST. Why don't you look at our closest extinct relatives instead? We are only separated from the Neanderthal by 400,000 years and they are COMPLETELY carnivorous. Vegetarians are so quick to forget, or are ignorant of that when they try to compare us to gorillas. On top of that most humans actually are part Neanderthal. Go look that up and then re-evaulate your "conclusions".

  • thanks for your total transparency 100% of the time. always appreciated and respected :-)

  • sorry, I mean dr atkins, and I found him online. (now it makes sense:)

  • what? is fedon as in Fedon Lindberg dead? when did he die, and can you please give me a link to somewhere that stats it (if you don´t have one, can you tell me how you know?) I find it interesting and want to share it, but I want to make sure I have my facts straight first. thank you. and one other think; I want to get a blood test, what should I test for? (any tips), I know I want to be tested for B12, but other than that I don´t know. I´m vegan, and lately LFRV.

  • Another great video Harley.

  • Awesome ;-) 6 months now, 700 grams of carbs a day.... never stronger, never felt better and still lean.

  • It's funny how they say "only eat fruit if you're an athlete"...Everyone's an athlete! lol

  • Cheering you on hugs!

  • Great video! Thanks!

  • There are also many examples, both from the past and modern times, of people showing a 6-pack, REGARDLESS of the macronutrient ratio of their diets. Does this make 811 or high-fat meat-based better or worse?!? Let's just keep it real! Evidence points to one thing and one thing only: no human ever thrived off foods with bar codes! Everything else, as long as one obtains the highest-quality foods possible, is probably not too relevant. Oh, and abs aren't necessarily a measure of health!

  • The primal diet folks ( including the blood type diet ) some how forget that the climate has changed a few times since neolithic times. Fruit was abundant in cradle of humanity.

  • Your best video so far. You make Mark Sisson sound like an absolute idiot, which is probably not far from the truth.

I really like your idea of taking advice from people that get the results u desire. I try to do that, too: I prefer starches before fruit sugars (google Haile Gebrselassie diet)

  • You know what drives me nuts? When people talk about the ice age they all speak of cave men in cold weather killing mammoths. The tropics were still tropical during the ice age and the majority of human population lived in the those areas.

  • Haha, still wouldnt show your belly button waist area Harley!... I wanta see this 8 pack that you supposedly have ;)

  • @wordey123 Are you seriously suggesting Harley is hiding a muffin top?!? ;)

  • Great video man. Thanx for taking the time to lisen to all that BS. This makes me see that there is no reason anymore for me to keep watching Marcolas videos, Cheers!

  • Finally, Mercola and Sisson, who do sell supplements, do not represent the large majority of well-meaning, well-informed paleo-ish (and not necessarily low-carb/high-fat) bloggers such as Stephan (Whole Health Source), Kurt (Archevore), Chris (Daily Lipid) or Petro (Hyperlipid). So, bashing the whole dietary ideas outside of what you preach, because of a few who sell supplements, is doing non one any service!!! Keep it real!!!! Hunzas vs Inuits. Both healthy! How do you explain that!?!?

  • Fitness/performance does not necessarily equal optimal health. You should check out Keith Norris's excellent exposé of this very principle at Theory to Pracice (Chasing performance... at the expense of health). Chasing performance will always, in the long run, lead to less-than-optimal health.

  • @mara3o huge difference! Fruit has all the enzymes, co-enzymes and micronutrients that help the body digest and assimilate its sugar into glycogen that your body stores for energy. Read the 80/10/10 diet by Dr. Doug Graham. Sorry to hear about your dad. Atkins is a scam that produces short term results by dumping water weight and destroys people's health in the longterm. Like Harley said, Dr. Atkins died of a heart attack and weighed 258lbs on the autopsy table!

  • A few other issues with the claims made in this video... one ketosis DOES NOT entail ketoacidosis and the former DOES NOT necessarily lead to the latter. Ketosis is something the body is perfectly capable of dealing with. Ketoacidosis, on the other hand, is a diseased state. Anyone who wants to do the research should easily understand the distinction!?!?!?! Equalling one to the other is simply dishonest and, a kind of scare-tactic that the author of this video frowns upon to beginwith !?!?

  • @ericrlepine707 I agree completely. As a physician, I can unequivocally say that this author is just a radical-leaning scare mongerer. Of course, anyone on youtube can post, so misinformation will always inevitably occur.

  • I'm by no means defending the fact that Mercola or Sisson sell supplements. YET, let's at least make it clear that they are selling stuff that they first believe you should and can get in your diet and THEN, if needed, because of poor dietary choices, use as seen appropriate. This is VERY different from the likes of vegan promoters (doctor Joel Fuhrman comes to mind) who recommend supplements (B12 and EFAs) for lack of these nutrients in the diets they recommend!!!!!!

  • @ericrlepine707 Except there is no lack of EFAs or B12 in a vegan diet.

  • @LordAngus1992 What the? No lack of B12 in a vegan diet? Enlighten us please with the list of vegetables you believe contain B12 in a human-digestible form.

  • Spot on again...Man...What would the world be like if we all felt good.....Maybe one day...

  • You are my hero,DR!!! Thank yo

  • I love your videos. :) You helped me get back on my raw vegan diet a few months ago when I nearly dropped off.

  • We don't need to catch animals with our bare hands Harley, we use tools. It's been proven by science that we ate lots of meat for survival. I agree that this Sisson guy is a complete moron, fruit IS the best frick'n source of food available. I've never felt better than on pure fruit.

  • Thanks for posting your videos and keepin it real... I have been watching for a few months now... I'm very inspired!

  • excellent video!
