Dosbox 0.65 and never versions have an integrated recorder. You press ctrl+F5 or something like that to record.

I don't think tutorials would do much good since this game is best learnt by trying on the lowest difficulty... and all the special moves are listed in several places over the internet.

You can download many tournaments using the link in the video description. Then all you need to do is add the *.trn and possible other files into the OMF directory.

Im not sure if you're joking or serious, but there might be for expample a .pict file included. Just extract evcerything in the OMF directory. The how depend on what operating system and extracting program (like WinZip) you have.

I use DOSBox to play the game, but does anyone know of a gamepad I can use to play the game? The keyboard is a pretty bad way to play this game :P

I used to use a Gravis PC Gamepad but it's no good anymore b/c I can't connect it to my PC. Would a 360 controller for Windows work?

I would suggest a PC USB logitech controller. It uses only 2 buttons so any type of logitech joystick would work. If you are looking for a joystick for OMF 2097 get the Logitech precision gamepad. It's cheap, comfortable and it only has the D-pad, cause if you have 2 joysticks then you have to switch the D-pad with the joystick cause OMF uses the left joystick by default and the soft can change it.

I personally have a Logitech Dual Action 2 game-pad, cause I use it in games like Assassins creed.

You go to configurations > controls > P1 > Joystick 1

What I like about the dual action is that there is a mode button that switches the D-Pad with the right analog stick. So I suggest you use the D-Pad for OMF. And about the keys - It will use every 2 key combination like - 1 - kick; 2 - punch, 3; 4, 5; 6, 7; 8, 9; 10, 11; 12 and 13; 14. So you can use whatever keys you feel OK with.

eh.... I have the model where the D-pad is like the Megadrive (Genesis in the US) and doesn't have Dual Action written on it. I think the D-pad is better than the other version, so are the analog sticks. I think that my version is the European version cause every video made in the US had the other model, So yeah I recommend the model I have cause I played the other one before I got this one and it was very uncomfortable.

Are you blind? There are 2 and 3 hit combos everywhere and they contain punches and kicks of almost all kinds. There would have been at least 50% more combos if Blunt Stone hadn't blocked so much :p. Beside the most common attack was probably the leg sweep.

If this was single player mode, 2 and 3 hit combos would count. But tournament mode allows MUCH fancier and longer combos ;-P

I think you should use more leaps.. especially shadow jl after a landed hit from a small punch/kick for easy 3 hit combos. Overhead throws also work (unfairly) well against ai opponents.

It's an old game, so the graphics suck (although at the time the graphics weren't so bad).

I get the feeling that it used to run much better (quicker) than it does in the movie.

Nova was a massive bot,(big geometry) he was a bad example to base the graphics of OMF on, but regardless this game was prime in it's time. It was released in 1994 so try comparing it to Crusin' USA, Mega Man 6, Super Mario RPG, or Star Fox.

The AI wasn't very competitive, though.

And in this particular video, it's a custome made mod and the AI made to pilot the Nova was sucky.

Well I never said I was a master player. I've always played with 30-60% speed when playing with maxed out skills so I don't brake my fingers :x... :D! In single player (not tournament) and two player modes I have 70-100% speed.

D=Down, DB=Down+back, B=Back, F=Foward, P=Punch.

So "roll" your fingers from down to back/foward and press punch (without relasing back/foward).

Hahaha, I love this game. Shadow was always a fun 'bot to play as. Not very practical considering his shadows were too easily punishable, but the AI doesn't take advantage of that very often, heh. I should go play a round or three for old time's sake. =)

Thanks! The Jaguar reigned supreme because I was the one controlling it and I'm just that damn good B)! And the Nova was a very defensive AI player so he tried to block my hits most of the time instead of attacking me head on ;).
