I like how you went to no expense making this look like a Portal turret. In fact, I am very impressed. But can you engineer arms for it that can retract and rotate like a true blue portal turret? I tried this, but the result would not work; the structure did not support the weight of the motors attatched, and it failed. It's an open challenge. I'd love to see it done, this makes me want to give it another try right now. Thanks for the inspiration! (This post is right on the max character count!)

that is awesome. you know there are little spring-loaded technic cannons, right? I'd add them on and rig up a servo switch that fires them off once motion is detected for further realism. I love legos, and I love this project.
Are you using a tilt sensor? I'm trying to build your concept myself, but I'm stuck in the lifting part. :P
