This is definitely the best movie! I got so into it though that when he Vincent leaves to go to space I can't help, but think "You idiot -- stay with Uma Thurman." She'll be dead by the time he comes back...if he does. Wow, I think I should watch this a third time. So good. I love modern movies and yet Inception, e.g., doesn't even come close to this!
@Wi11daThri11 Uma wont be dead, shes got more time than that, I mean thats the moral message of the film, defeating the impossible...Gattaca is the gretest Sci-Fi ever, but you dont like Inception? Inception is great too. them two and Minority Report are the top 3 Sci-Fi unless you include Sunshine, then replace Minority Report with Sunshine
@3Axy10Est13 Ok, I admit Inception is pretty good. I haven't heard of the other two movies you mentioned -- Sunshine & Minority Report. I might check them out. My point with Uma being dead already is that time in Space goes much slower than it does on Earth so that, even if Vincent did make it back in under a few decades, Earth time might be in the next century or two already.
@Wi11daThri11 More accurately, according to Einstein's Special Relativity, the faster an object moves the slower time passes for it so that the spaceship, which would be moving rather quickly, would age very little as it moved farther into the future (from Earth's perspective). Even if Vincent travelled to Saturn and back without landing he would arrive in the relatively (no pun intended) distant future.
My greatest companion (my cat Moses) was overdue to die of heart failure by over 5 years...he never did die of heart failure...though sadly he is no longer with us now =( this movie is simply beautiful
@Jackpotur Thats when Vincent got his final test off Lamar before he headed to the ship and Lamar changed his DNA's identity cause he knew about the secret the whole time and says "Normally right handed people hold it with their right hand, its just one of those things." Such a great ending.
Sheesh - I've seen this movie 100 times and listen to these clips at work sometimes instead of the radio. I STILL get watery eyes and feel like sobbing. I think this is one of the best stories of the modern world. What a masterpiece.
@sportgrappler the scenario of the movie is so real, do u think this scenary and rockets are real?? or is all just a movie set? because if they have the tech to do the movie like that, they probably can make the lauch pad and etc. dont u think so?

I like the quote which hasn't been mentioned is when Vincent says, 'There's more vodka in this piss than there is piss.' :P
