compare what? 99.9% of videos about Ubuntu is about compiz (useless feature if you ask me)! Windows 7 its even easier to use than Ubuntu, you don't need no stinking terminal to do the most basic tasks! :)

think, terminal is for advanced users,

use the GUI, ALL can be done with the proper GUI,

allways exist a GUI to make any task.

To install flash player in Ubuntu64 you need the terminal, to install codecs for real media, mov etc. you need the terminal! etc.

no..., on Firefox just type:

apt:ubuntu-restricted-extras

or you can get it from Getdeb or Medibuntu via browser,

and install with Gdebi or Synaptics.

You dont need the terminal, you can use Synaptics for all tasks related to Packages.

You dont need Internet, if you have the programs on CD/DVD you can add with "add downloaded Packages" option on Synaptics.

No Terminal or Internet needed.

Still it dint play real media! It said cannot play RV40 format etc.! Even VLC player could not played the movie so I had to install real player (wich I hate)! This player sucks as much on Ubuntu as it does on Windows LOL!
