twisty but looks so much fun! I'd love to see more of your videos... But you know what, it's annoying when you can't overtake the slow driver in front of you because of the so much twisty road and blind curves... LOL... I'd love to share more of your videos.
I drove this road a couple years ago--in a stretch limo, through a blinding snow storm, and with 6 passengers. It was totally white knuckle. With no traction control, I had to crawl uphill 10mph.
I live on this road at least at the northern end of it as it comes in to Prescott. It is a drive that never gets old to me and I have lived here the last few years.
Going down on a Yamaha 650 Twin is even more fun. Going up in a 4Runner with wide tires in the pouring rain is not near so much fun. Pretty much like going over 17 from San Jose to Santa Cruz - except White Spar is only two lanes.
White Spar is an amazing road, I actually did my first night run on it last month. Its quite spooky at night if you've never done it before, and there was a light rain starting to fall which didn't help grip too much.
I plan on retiring in Prescott, so I have an interest in information about that area. How long of a stretch is that highway, what is the speed limit, did you follow the speed limit, and did you have fun?....lol.
the speed limit goes anywhere from 15 to 55 on this hill. It is a awesome drive that puts you into the south side of town on Montezuma st. I grew up here and can honestly say it is a nice place. Let me know if you want to know anything else
makes me homesick for sure. Been away from Arizona for so long now but I have some wonderful memories. I am so glad you shared this and can't imagine how difficult it must have been to capture it on some of those hairpin curves. Inspiring to me, but I don't think I would want to ride this drive in a car as I would probably get quite car sick. LOL
that road is really cool... i live right at the bottom of it on country club and mckellips... its frickin sweet... great place to learn ur cars potential
Anybody who knows much can see this is hwy 89 (White Spar)...and it's much more fun to drive it late at night when there's nobody else on the road. Haul ass and burn gas! When I used to drive this road, and I didn't want to drive fast and it looked like there was someobdy behind me who did, I'd pull over and let 'em pass. Drive it often and learn the road, then you can take people for a good ride--scare the shit out of 'em.
Yes, this is entering town from the south isn't it?. This may have been before the forest fires hit that part of Yavapai County.

lol I guess it isn't for everybody. I love this and this video is great.. Takes me way back --lived in Phoenix in the 70's and

This is the beautiful White Spar Road. Too bad you cannot see the magnificent view of the Bradshaws off to your right.

It does look like the Spars, but it could also be coming up through Iron Springs Road up from Skull Valley...It's been awhile, so it's hard to tell.

Yes, it is White Spar (89) coming into Prescott.
