  • great musicien he plays it a bit to fast for my taste again for my taste still great pianist

    Fantastico!!!

  • I studied piano during 14 years and the only music I still can play is Asturias. Wonderful!

  • Yea go on

  • For me, best piano version on youtube

  • For me best piano version on youtube.

  • A guy named William Joseph kinda revamped this if anyone wants to watch. It's called Asturias.

  • Oh my GOD

  • wow! I cant match that on my classical guitar! but i would have to say i am partial to the sound of this piece on classical guitar! Thank you segovia!

  • @StealthGenius

Francisco Tarrega arranged this suite for guitar, not Segovia.

  • Fantastic!

  • He must be Ron Weasly... cause that was magic

  • very good look my video

  • it's soooo hard to do the transitions at the speed he does it. this is a musical talent right here for sure

  • 300.000 visits since today, thank you very much to all of you !

  • so good it HURTS me!

  • bravo !

very nice performance, very sharp beginning, beautiful in the 2nd theme :)

  • am learning this on guitar so hard :P

  • this song was conceived on a piano to be translated to guitar where it shines as such a fantastic piece.

it is so empty on the piano.

    to me at least.

  • Very good, but......

There is no comparison to John Williams' guitar version.

This verison is so much warmer and dramatic.

  • @cjm081 actually Williams had nothing to do with it.

    Segovia transposed for the guitar.

I'm guessing you find this warmer because it is in Gm rather than the Segovia which is in Em.

  • Piękne wykonie

Pochodzę z polski i gorąco pozdrawiam!

  • fantastic but i think it better on classical guitar

  • @odzelagio I love the guitar, but nothing beats the piano!

  • @odzelagio For me, the Piano derives its beauty from all of the intricate harmonies and melodies it can produce. I think many other instruments are suited better for these types of compositions because their singular notes have a much fuller sound as opposed to the Piano. Countering that, there are many beautiful melodies that only sound right on the Piano because played on other instruments they sound too muddled or busy.

  • @odzelagio couldn't agree more

  • absolutely marvelous

  • This is very good!

  • Astounding.TY m for posting.

  • why does this man make me feel like i'm not worth touching the piano??

  • AWESOME !!!!

    May ♥love♥ be with you,

    fr. Steven

  • ok anyone wanna take part in this..? which requires more passion? when you play this piece on the piano or guitar?

  • Excellent!

  • it's fantastic!!!!! wonderful !!!!!!! great!!!!

  • pianoforte!!!!!

  • Wow!!!!

  • It is a remarkable performance, true to Albeniz's original composition - but I have to agree the guitar transcription has a haunting quality that the piano, on this occasion, can't quite match! Try to hear John Feeley's version (also on Youtube)

  • I LOVE SPAIN

  • this peace was actually made for the piano....but it sounded better with the guitar...i like the guitar version much more.

  • I like it, but i like the classical guitar version so much better

    great work though

  • I saw just yesterday Boris Berezovsky play this piece as an encore...and it was AMAZING!!!

  • @edthepianist scommetto a Bergamo.

  • I'm learning this, is it supposed to be played with the sustain pedal down? I think it sounds better personally, but on the sheets it says staccato

  • I'm learning this, is it supposed to be played with the sustain pedal down? I think it sounds better personally, but on the sheets it says staccato.

  • Pablo is just out of this world... a remarkable virtuoso

  • OUTSTANDING interpretation and beautiful piano too.

  • maaan i don't know if i prefer the original one (played in piano) or the arrengement in guitar o.O

  • MAESTRO !!!

    BIEN TOCADO !!!

  • How many words per minute do you type?

  • Yet there are so many versions of this song here on youtube and i think ur the only one who is playing it right.

    Gave me goosebumps, dude!

    Keep it up

  • @Punkrock1807 Sorry but Alicia de Larrocha's version is not only played right. Is a reference!!!

  • like fast motion

  • fuckin awesome !!!!

  • Menakjubkan.

  • thank you Francisco Tarrega for rewriting this for the guitar

  • Franchement belle musique , bravo au Pianiste =)

  • fantastic!

  • this man is has ferrari fingers with Albeniz fuel!

  • tsekare diafora...

  • yea.

  • Its an amazing piece when its slowed down a tad more than this though, to let the spanish beauty shine through. Playing this fast only shows off a viruosity of that player who can play impressively fast. but he forgets the actual character of the music needs its chance to shine in the "fast" parts.

Although admittedly after playing it myself its really hard not to race on through it, such an exciting piece!!

  • Is it me or did Segovia turn this piece into a race rather than a work meant to be savored? It is still nice to see emotion after the intro.

  • he is amazing. but i agree with G7reye.

  • too fast...

  • it is way better in guitar

Enhorabuena

  • love it..as well as the guitar version

  • I prefer the version for guitar^^'

    it's a great master piece

    ,merci^^

  • holy shit that tempo is fast :D

  • I know how to play this on guitar now I wanna learn it on piano :)

  • One Word - EPIC

  • This guy has just left the school where i work at, he is performing a show in kuwait and very kindly came to porform for us.

  • @managementcen It deserves more than 1 million views.

  • is it just me.... or ... every time I hear this piece on a piano it's played at Chipmunk speed.... ????????? it just doesn't sound as natural as John Williams on the guitar

  • I'm learning to play this piece, and so far, it hasn't been going so well. xD

My teacher has been telling me I play it horribly, and now I can see why.

I'm nowhere near playing it as well as Galdo plays it. The speed and even-ness of the fast parts and the flow of the slow parts are both something I have yet to gain while playing this piece.

But I'm so glad I found this. You should see me, taking notes all over my sheet music. xD. Thanks to whoever posted this, and, of course, to Galdo.

  • DUUUUUUUUDE

  • whats the name of the 2nd piece ?

  • @nOPeaxe Sevilla.

  • Its easy to say "mmm he didnt play very well the piece... The tempo in the part bla bla bla.. The pedal bla bla..." But very difficult to PLAY IT. What was the problem with the tempo, the keys? None... Only stupid things that doesnt make the musician better... He played one of the most difficult pieces, and he did it very well... And some of us have to practice a lot to make that rendition... So much talk, but it was PERFECT PLAYED. Emotional, talented and fantastic. Nothing more to say.

  • great !!! but I think France Clidat's version is better. She's a french pianist & I think for Liszt ans Albeniz she's really the best ever.

  • @Syliam86 If you want to hear a truly great version, look for Alicia de Larrocha's. She is the MASTER

  • poop!

  • wow

  • wow this shits insane

  • viva Ferrol!!

  • Quite simply an outstanding performance!!

  • Albeniz originally composed this for PIANO not guitar

  • @bevanne12 yea and he also said he liked it better on guitar

  • I respect Mr. Galdo's performance, I think it's very forceful. However, the performance does, by virtue of the choice of instrument, does not nearly have the elegance, subtlety and the magnificence of the guitar. This piece is simply better played and gains amazing depth by the guitar. That's just a simple fact. But all said and done, kudos to Mr. Galdo.

  • Muy bien tocado.. lástima que cortaron sevilla :(

  • RESPECT...BEYOND BEST!

  • R E S P E C T !! ♥♥♥

  • @managementcen thank pablo! and thank you, too.

  • This was very, very good.

  • COOL!

  • This man is insane!.!!

  • I easily forget that Albéniz originally wrote this piece for piano! Well played : )

  • unbelivabe...this is like the heavy metal of classical music.the best pianist i've ever seen and the best piano interpretation of asturias...till now i thought "asturias" cant sound good on anything else except guitar.great job!

  • @razwu85

Albéniz originally wrote it for piano. The guitar version just became more popular over time.

  • Bravo!

  • Great rendition, a few mistakes here and there but this highpaced piece actually is nearly impossible on piano at this speed (its just a bit less impossible on guitar). And he really does superbly bring out the loneliness of the Spanish desert, as well as the beauty of the country. Bravo!

  • @Naxxer90 spanish desert? there's no desert in asturias ;) just green mountains

  • me parece muy buena versión

  • to fast :s

  • WOW! I just selected this piece for my standard rep; this piece is wicked fast, and this performance is stunning!

  • @managementcen you are amazing........=)

  • This is awesome!-Jazzman Jeff

  • lol the guy keeps coughing all the time

  • Absolutely amazing. I am learning this song right now and i dont think it can sound this good.

Do you by any chance play Sergi Rachmaninov? I havent heard a good song by him (Moment Musicaux Op. 4 No. 16 in E) in a while

  • Amazing.

I am currently learning this song and when you play it, it sounds great.

Maybe you can learn some Sergi Rachmaninoff ?Perhaps Op.4 No. 16? Haha xD

  • Wow , to listen to him is a total discovery

  • Great Expression on Piano. Bravo. Excellent job on bringing out the true intended sound. Again Bravo..

  • WAHNSINN, UNGLAUBLICH GUT **************

    KRISTIN

  • He play's very good. I don't like when people makes accent to 1st bit,

  • i dont know a better version, THIS IS 100000000000000000000000000000000

stars worth. people always think, that "asturias" is an easy piece, but it is very very difficult to play those repetitions in an equal way , and PABLO GALDO is born to play this piece . GRET GREAT GREAT *****************************

Love and blessings from Germany KRISTIN

  • @Seinway I am surprized that piano can take this repetitions lol

  • fantastique!!!! Love isis

  • sounds better on the guitar but still

  • Love it! Thanks.

  • crazy!! amazing!!!

  • amazing

  • it´s incredible!!

  • Awesome playing. I think it should go just a tad slower, so as to be more implacable and less hurry-scurry. But the propulsiveness is wonderful. Perhaps he takes a couple liberties w/ the text as someone says below, but nothing major. He fluffs a couple chords during the forte/fortissimo sections, but I suspect that's pretty common.

  • great pianist..

  • i'm speechless man..! amazing!

  • i did a ballet competition to this song! its amazing!!

  • This by far the best version out of all of them, all of them, this guy is spot on.

  • strange how u play the middle part!

  • Que grandeza la verdad! Disfrute como un enano :D

  • svaka ti dala...xDD

  • einfach genial...

  • woow very good!! :D

  • he plays not the original. in the end of the first part he has to player layers in the left hand. plus he doesn´t get the upper chord on D and Es not correctly.

furthermore the arpeggio up; he has te wrong ending. It stops on D7 but the left hand two octaves down.

plus the middlepart is not as freely written as he plays it.

    but interesting interpretaion :)

well, dynamicly ok. but it is not "extraordinary"

  • I love this song but I think guitar is the best miusical instrument for this song!

  • He plays it very well, but anyway, I don't like his style of playing... it's just my opinion.

  • un saludo pablo desde barcelona, jajajaja !!!! hector*

  • I think this piece is more difficult in piano than in guitar. Excellent execution

  • trop bien

  • I love this song, That's will be awesome a duo guitar/ piano with John WIlliam and Pablo Galdo

  • @Giltindor It would be impossible, as the two versions are not in the same key. Only in case that it'd be redone...

  • you have a really good talent

  • GREEAT!! *

  • GREEAT!! *

  • *jaw drops*

  • This video is 1000 times favorite from today, thank you so much!!

  • Bravo! Great sound!

  • toujours aussi génial, when see you in concert in Paris?

  • is fantastic

  • Waow...

In my opinion you are very good. You have feelings, you have passion and your technique is impeccable. Thankyou.

  • @Arpeggionotes

In my opinion, he had a very strong feelings!! Not lacking in passion At All!! Look at him! From 1:25 on he's excellent!! He feels what he plays...

    Excellent

  • mr. pablo galdo...GET A LIFE!

  • sin palabras

  • Technically impressive; lacking in passion

  • yeah very blunt !!

  • Whats the name of the 2nd piece ? Thank you

  • Sevilla:)

  • The future if we do nothing!

    /watch?v=LCp4r4pep9k

  • Brilliant sound expression.

I remember how hard it was to get all the notes in the fast parts.

  • i'm a guitarist and i am just learning this piece, but not by listening to guitarists performing it,but pianists...much more power...and this guy is insane.

  • I find the guitar has far more variation in tone, and the ability to play the same note on different strings makes a huge difference for the fast part at the beginning/end. Anyway, I highly recommend John Williams' version (uploaded by "powerload").

  • I second that.

  • i'm learning this now :)

    it's great! :P

  • @ccbestf Really ins't it eh. XD

  • albeniz was a pianist, and this piece is for piano, but guitar is a "more spanish sound" this intepretation is for 5 stars.

And te piano is the best instrument of the world, this si for DaBoel, byebye!

  • It's weird because when I play it I feel like it sounds like I'm stressing it differently...

    Good though (:

  • Crap. Easy parts are "Geniously" played,

but he fails at the difficult parts.

Pick a slower tempo which you can handle.

  • ooh God you're AMAZING your tempo's awesome!!!
