From what my customers in Canada told me..I was always curious how well it works up there. Maybe getting doctors appointments are not a problem, but tests and surgeries are not. I agree there are upsides to universal heathcare. The US system is more based on personal accountability.

Healthcare, basic education, fire fighting, policing, etc. So many Americans do not have health coverage, and so many who do have health coverage think they are safe then go bankrupt after they get sick and their private insurer succeeds in weaseling out of paying their claims to increase profits. Canada,are you kidding me? Universal Health in Canada sucks. Try getting quality health care up there without waiting months on end for treatments or tests. We are a capitalist society, still the wealthiest country in the world. If our economy struggles, the world suffers. Things will turn around as they always have in the past. I deal with Canadians all the time in my job. You are bunch of risk avert, complacent,"status quo" people. The US will always be the land of opportunity!

From what my customers in Canada told me..I was always curious how well it works up there. Maybe getting doctors appointments are not a problem, but tests and surgeries are not. I agree there are upsides to universal heathcare. The US system is more based on personal accountability.

I'm Canadian. I love our healthcare system. There are some things too fundamental and important to not be universal and socialized. Healthcare, basic education, fire fighting, policing, etc. So many Americans do not have health coverage, and so many who do have health coverage think they are safe then go bankrupt after they get sick and their private insurer succeeds in weaseling out of paying their claims to increase profits. Only the USA among 1st world western nations has such a system.
