Nice, smooth-looking walk, especially if it's only a 5 frame walk cycle (FWC). I've heard of a 4 and 8 frame walk cycles, so I'm curious where a 4FWC has 1 frame added to it to make it a 5 FWC. Also, what frame rate are you using?
the walk cycle number is how many frames it takes for the figure to return to that exact same body position. For example, count how many frames you take from when the right leg it down on a stud to when the right leg is down on the next stud (actually 2 studs away) I guess another way to look at it is: home many frames does it take to traverse 2 studs 2 studs.
Oh, sorry about my confusion. Could you post a temporary 5-10 second video of part of your walk slowed down to say 1 frame per second so I can see what you're doing? I'm so interested because your walk looks pretty darn smooth for only a 5 frame walk cycle.
Maybe he includes a frame where both legs are side by side and pressed down on studs. I tend to avoid that frame to allow the back leg to swing forward more quickly which I think looks more realistic.

15fps. I don't know how to explain the walk cycle to you.

I know what a walk cycle is... I just can't explain (in words at least) how you add 1 frame to 4 to get a 5 frame walk cycle.

Is that the 6 frame walk? looks pretty good!

No, 5 step walk cycle. The key to making it look good is keeping the back straight.

how do you make 5 step walk? i use 4 and I can't figure out how to make it better!
