Congratulations to you ! I had a VBAC TWENTY YEARS AGO ! I can't believe this once a c-section , always a c-section attitude is so prevalent! It makes me sick. Young women and men - learn all you can and stick up for what you want! My VBAC experience with no drugs was so much better than being put out and missing the birth of my son! Your video is a wonderful testament. Thanks for sharing your experience!
beautifull story really thanks 4 sharing almost made me cry... really big baby!! Lol
I am so interested in a VBAC I have a boy and I'm pregnant now! and where I live no doctor wants to do this! but since it's my body , my baby I'm going to try to do possible, I'm really looking 4 a lot of info. and advice U can give me would be great!! God Bless
I had my first child vaginally, my second was a c-section and now im pregant with my 3rd and I'm going for a VBAC, im a little nervous but very excited. I am putting all my trust in God because I know he's in control. My doctore has done vbacs before and he's all for the natural delivery..he said he will probably induce me at 39 or 40 weeks :)
For my VBAC, my son was 10 days overdue. Tell the doctors that you want to go to 42 weeks, which is the normal allowable "overdue" pregnancy. You will probably go into labor before 42 weeks. Remember that you are in charge of your own body, not the doctors. They have no right to touch you without your consent. Tell them to let you wait til 42 weeks. You will have to have frequent stress-tests, but that is better than getting cut open again. Best of luck!
@brandtsteph Wow! You're video is very inspiring. I had a c-section on my 1st baby and I was told that he was too big and I dilated at 4cm only. Now, I'm really hoping and praying that I can deliver naturally. I'm glad I saw your video because I am scheduled for an induction tomorrow. This truly is an inspiration. Thanks!
@brandtsteph u really do give hope..i wanted to know if you had any pain medicine? i previuosly had one c section n am pregnant now..31 weeks n im skepital about VBAC, so any advice you can give would be very helpful..god bless your baby..
@TheTwinlover I made it to 5 cm without any pain medication. I was throwing up from the pain. I decided to get an epidural, which wonderfully removed the pain and helped my body relax. I've had another baby after this one, and I got an epidural right away. Both babies were born active and crying. I am 100% in favor of pain meds if they allow the mother to relax and have a vaginal birth instead of a C-section. There are way too many C-sections happening today! Good luck to you!!
@brandtsteph Thank you soo much for replying so fast.. well that really was a relief to hear that you did it successfully with pain medicine.. but do u think that i should get the pain medicine before i start pushing? and once again thank you soo much..
@TheTwinlover I can't give medical advice because I am not a doctor, however, I can encourage you to labor as long as you can without pain meds. For me, the epidural did stop my contractions so the nurses broke my water to get labor going again. But there are no guarantees this will work. There is the risk of labor slowing from the epidural and thus a c-section is required. It's a balance. Meds helped my body relax and deliver vaginally, but they also can slow contractions. It's your choice!
I am trying to have a VBAC, but my son just will not come out. His due date is tomorrow and they are planning for Csection if he doesn't come. What can I do to get labor to start before they try to cut me again?
@TheTwinlover Sorry for the delay, I was in labor for days with no progress ended up having another c-section because he was overdue. I waited 2 weeks after due date.
@sherritaberry Thanks for responding, soo im still pregnant 39weeks and two days, and i feel nothing , no pains no sign of birth , im only 1cenimeter and effaced only 50%, do you advise the whole waiting until at least 41weeks, or induced labor, or just going with the c-sec..what would you have done if you could? and once again thanks..
@TheTwinlover It's totally up to you,but I am a teacher and I would have gotten paid a couple of more weeks if I would have had him earlier.I waited, I loss my plug a week over due,I was 75 percent effaced and only 3 centimeters. The let me go 2 weeks and they said they had to take him. If I had to do it over,I will let the baby try to come naturally before the due date. If I have another baby I will try a VBAC again, if it doesn't happen I am okay with that. After DD c-section
I am due Oct2011. My doctor is not the most receptive about me trying a VBAC. She has been kinda putting off the formal conversation but I on the onset voiced that I wanted to try.I just hope I can get her on board. She has been my doctor for so long but I didnt realize till after my son was born that I should have fought when after 24 hours of unassisted labor they pushed me to have that devil juice(pitocin) and then labor stopped at 7cm and then pushed into a Section.I cried the entire time .
I've had 2 babies. First one C-Section, and obviously the second was a VBAC. What they NEVER tell you is that almost ALL VBACs end up with a prolapsed Uterus!!!! Which is NOW what I'm going through. Had I just had another C-Section I would have been fine. I'm glad that I was able to have a natural childbirth, but I sure wished they would have told me the troubles I would encounter later on
@1217jacqueline That is interesting, Jacqueline, and I'm sorry for your troubles with the prolapsed uterus. I have not heard of higher rates of prolapsed uterus due to VBAC. I have had two VBACs and I didn't experience any troubles with prolapsed uterus, even with a 10 pound 6 ounce baby VBAC. My guess is that the rate of prolapse for vaginal birth and VBAC are very similar. But I plan to look into this further. Thanks for your comment.
Hi! I had a c-section and want to a v-back when I get pregnant with our next one SOOOOOOOO BAD!!! You give me hope! How was the pain in comparison to the c-section?
@Hot2009Momma The pain with the C-section was very minimal for me. My first vbac was harder than the c-section and more painful. I almost regretted it. But my second vbac was totally painless! I think first-time births are just harder than subsequent births. I know from my 2nd vbac that vaginal birth is the best method, especially if you want more than 2 children. More than 2 c-sections becomes risky. Best of luck to you!!
this video is awesome!! i cried!! im pregnant now, first baby had a c section and now on my second i agreed with me doctor that it was safer to have a nother c section but i have rele rele been looking into vbacs and researching and im going to try and have my baby vaginally!!! we are women!! we were built and made to birth babies!!! thank u so much for this video, u have pushed me even more for a vbac:)
@katie7293 I am glad you are doing your research about VBACs. Today, doctors just follow the protocol they are taught in medical school, which is "once a c-section, always a c-section." OMG sista.. this is awesome! I am so happy you were able to experience birth as it should be.... this is an awesome video.. i wish i knew how to do the videos...
@dburns1965 Hey girl! :) Yes, it was great. He just turned THREE!! Can you believe that? And then Alanna was born 13 months later, the very next January. Crazy.
Just because you have had a C-section does not mean that you are forever going to have c-sections! Do not let your OB tell you this and destroy your confidence. If your OB does not support your plans for a VBAC, find a new OB. Most young doctors are never taught about VBACs. But there are still many, many doctors out there who support VBAC births. You just have to find one! Right now you still have a lot of choice and power about your own healthcare. Hopefully this won't change.
@brandtsteph Just out of interest, how long did you wait before having first VBAC? The advice is very confusing, some doctors say to wait 18 months, others 24 months... Also, did the scar hurt at all during pregnancy and birth. Thank you, very encouraging video! God bless.
@DaughterOfYashua I had other medical issues (brain tumor and brain surgery) which postponed our second pregnancy quite a bit. There were 4 years between my first two births. BUT our 3rd baby (VBAC also) was born only 13 months after the baby you see in this video. You can see I have done both extremes as far as timing is concerned. OMG!!! Rebbeca Lesser its my midwife right now!!! Im 26 weeks prego and also looking forward to have a vbac in the UCSan diego Hospital. Im driving 2hrs every months to be able to have my second chance.
So glad to see my midwife she is so sweet. Hopes that she wil be able to be in my labor. Did you use a doula?
@Cachitodecielo1 Hey! Best of luck with your VBAC. You will do great!! I really loved Rebecca. It is so worth it to have a VBAC. Initially, I sort of regretted it because my baby was 10 pounds 6 ounces and I had some damage because of his size. But I healed up fine and I am so glad I did it!! We no longer live in So Cal. But we have a daughter now too who was also born by VBAC. So easy!! You can do it!!
@jadoredashboard Hey! I put this video together myself and I realize that it appears that I never even held my own baby once! Of course that is not true. But it does appear that way in the video due to the editing.
Thanks for posting your video and congratulations! My first baby was a planned homebirth but ended up a c-section and he weighed 10lbs 6oz. I was devistated that he was a c-section and got really sick of people telling me it was for the best because I probably couldn't have pushed out a 10lb baby. I am now 38 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and am trying for a vbac. It's been 20 months since the c-section. Your video has given me confidence that it can be done even if he is a big boy!! Thank you!
@jspartington Hey! Thanks for the comment. I'm glad it's helped you feel more confident. You can do it!! I've had two VBACs now. We had a baby girl 13 months after the birth in this video. Both were wonderful vbac experiences! (My first c-section was planned due to other medical reasons.)

Congratulations, so inspirational! So, you've had 2 VBAC's now? I see the second was easier pushing? My first (c/s), was 2 hours of pushing. My second, VBAC was 2 1/2 hours of pushing. I'm praying my next VBAC will be shorter pushing! :)
Goshhhh.....he's one big-handsome boy u got there...congrats on the successful of your VBAC....I'm planning to have my 2nd pregnancy this mid year...and plan to have a VBAC (my 1st one was a C-Section)...hopefully, 2 years is a safe distance to have a VBAC....:)
thx for sharing your birth story, this gives me more confidence to try to a vaginal birth because with my 1st i had an emergency c-section...but it was because i was induced(i was told wed be just fine..did it coz my hubby was shippin off to iraq) which stressed out the baby and caused him to go to the bathroom in me...not because of a medicle condition...i do have to ask though...did your incision aira hurt from your prev c-section while giving birth?
Yes, I did get an epidural about halfway through. I was already in very active labor. The epidural did slow down my labor, and so the midwife had to break my water to re-start the labor.
this gives me hope that with my next child we can have a VBAC. I went over 21 hrs of labor with my first and had an emergency c-section that I was knocked out for. I never got to see my son until he was 4 hrs old. My son was only 7lbs 4 oz but my hips were too small to pass him.
Your story sounds like mines....I went thru 11 hours with my 1st and was put to sleep for an emergency c-section for my second, and she was 2 hours old when I saw her. I'm still unsure of why I had the emergency c-section, they never told me and they didn't document the cause, but this video gives me hope that we can do a vbac with my son this time. :)
Hi noimanay, Best wishes to you for a VBAC birth! I know you can do it. The first VBAC is difficult because it is just like a first birth. But we have done two VBACs and the second one was very easy. God Bless you, Stephanie
congratulations! i also am going to vbac and am very scared! it was good to see a video of someone who did great with it! and a big boy too! lol. my son patrick was almost 10 lbs! good for you! sonja
Good luck! Don't get tired of pushing. I pushed for 2.5 hours in this video, but it seems a lot shorter in the video. :) Once you've pushed one baby out, the second baby comes out much easier. Like I said above, our second vbac baby was born on the first push! Good luck!
well this is good news i am 27 weeks and going for my second VBAC attempt altho everyone tells me that it will be easier the second time but hearing it from a NON medical person is nice ......i hope to push this baby out as well nothin better then then feeling of giving birth yourself
omg love this video thanx 4 posting this cuz im 39 weeks and im going to try vbac on the 23 of this month and i really dont have no support my doc dont belive in natural birth after c-section and really hoping that i pull throw .... with my first i was really tired and i asked for a c-section she was right there but i was done pushing =(....so now im here really hoping things go the way it went for you wish me luck!
Oh, by the way, I was induced one week early for this latest vbac birth because I wanted to avoid having a 10 pound 6 ounce baby! We induced a week early, and luckily my body cooperated and everything went perfectly smooth. But I had already had one vbac, so I was pretty sure it would happen again. It was an easy birth. She was born on the first push. Probably because our previous baby was so big!
First, find a doctor who is supportive of vbac. Second, try to increase your chances of a successful vbac by going into labor spontaneously, in other words, avoid being induced because your chance of c-section rises with induction. (Of course, discuss all this with your doctor!) Finally, get an epidural! You will be calmer with it. I just had another vbac birth two weeks ago, and we have our first daughter now. Best wishes to you!
Our first child was 3 years and 11 months old at the time of this birth. However, am I due again in 4 weeks, and this will space apart the two VBAC births only by 13 months. Good luck!!!
Congratulations to you ! I had a VBAC TWENTY YEARS AGO ! I can't believe this once a c-section , always a c-section attitude is so prevalent! It makes me sick. thx for sharing your birth story, this gives me more confidence to try to a vaginal birth because with my 1st i had an emergency c-section...but it was because i was induced(i was told wed be just fine..did it coz my hubby was shippin off to iraq) which stressed out the baby and caused him to go to the bathroom in me...not because of a medicle condition...i do have to ask though...did your incision aira hurt from your prev c-section while giving birth?

Yes, I did get an epidural about halfway through. I was already in very active labor. The epidural did slow down my labor, and so the midwife had to break my water to re-start the labor.

did you have an epidural?

this gives me hope that with my next child we can have a VBAC. I went over 21 hrs of labor with my first and had an emergency c-section that I was knocked out for. I never got to see my son until he was 4 hrs old. My son was only 7lbs 4 oz but my hips were too small to pass him.
Congrats momma!

I am crying. I wish to give natural birth too. How much older first baby?
(sorry of my English)

Our first child was 3 years and 11 months old at the time of this birth. However, am I due again in 4 weeks, and this will space apart the two VBAC births only by 13 months. Good luck!!!

Wow! I wish you painless birth without any complications!!! And that your newborn was very healthy and lucky baby all his (her) life :)
