@ibanezsam4 It is very difficult to sing with a full orchestra behind you because it is hard to hear yourself even with an earpeice. Therefore she is straining to sing loud enough to hear herself in order to stay on pitch. It was written to go sharp there and if he had used a Metzzo Soprano instead she would hit that properly without worryiing about pitchiness. I think she did a beautful job.

@ibanezsam4 - This music was obviously written as an instrumental. You can tell because all the parts are filled. Iif you were to take the vocals out it would not be missed. Unfortunately musicians forget when you add the vocals to fit a song already written as instrumental they have to remove one of the instruments and replace it with vocals to fill the void.

Yoshiki wrote some amazing ballad song but for some reason, I feel the lyric for this piece a liitle desperate. Because it feel like Yoshiki got the right motive for the lyric but was unable to express it correctly.

Yoshiki was the drummer and pianist of a band called X Japan he made with his friend Toshi. In like, 95, Yoshiki made this to be played whenever X Japan went on stage for their gigs (the PV version). Well, in 95, the group split up, and in 98, their guitarist, Hide died (which is really sad). It's made Yoshiki depressed for the last 10 years, and he can't think about X Japan anymore, so he made this new band VUK - Violet UK, and he added extra lyrics to his original song "Amethyst".

Yoshiki Symphonic Concert w/ Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring Violet UK. The date was 2002 December 4th.

You can buy the DVD of this concert on sites that offer sales of Japan-only DVDs and CDs.  I highly suggest it if you are a fan of classical music.

Well, that shouldn't be treated as something bad. I do the same moves while singing, because it helps me to focus.

More professional singers don't need any moves like that, but they learn how to 'produce' the best voice for ages and they can focus on singing without anything else, or even manage to move and act while singing (look at opera singers).

She has a good voice for this song, but in my opinion she's fighting for every line during chorus. It's not the best performance.
