Offcourse it is. (1920 means 1920pixels across and 1080 pixels down, 2560x1600 means 2560 pixels accross and 1600 pixels down, console version of crysis 2 only run at 1024x600 for example)

Thank you very much for the video. I got a GTX 470 overclocked and at 1080p with everything ultra I get about 30-40 fps. It was a slideshow for me. So I turned down the settings to very high to get 50+ fps.

@85jakub i didn't bought a monitor with a high resolution... 1920x1080 seems normal to me these days, but i did set a custom resolution of 2560x1600 in the nvidia's control panel, and i don't find 30+ fps low at all, plays fine for me. lol

Dude, it´s a waste of fp/s. First of all, there is no difference in the grasphics, they look actually worse as the picture gets scaled. And even if your monitor did support a resolution higher than 1080p, it would be impossible to notice any difference.

The distance at which you can´t tell the difference between 1080p and 720p lies at 30cm from the screen. On a 40" TV. DO the maths.

I've got 2 460's on a 4.46 GHz quad overclocked with 4 GB of 2400 MHz DDR3 RAM and it looks just as good but I get around 120 frames per second without fraps. With fraps, the game tells me 115 frames but fraps tells me 60 - it does not change ever.

@Diekrupt Yeah, offically it supports only a maximum resolution of 1920x1080, but with the custom resolution settings in the nvidia control panel you can bypass this. And it looks very good, little stretchy but you get used to it lol.

@MrCrapCookie Take the 2500k instead of 2600k. 2600k is more for video editing an that sorta stuff. 2500k is almost equal and sometimes even better in games then the 2600k. Also, 8 gigs of ram is alot for just regular gaming, 4gb will do. As for the gpu, gtx 560 ti is an excellent choice. Btw 8gb ram is mostly for those interested in video editing again...

@Bertusjedi2 The GTX 590 is basically dual GTX 580, tests ran on it show it has a slightly higher heat and fan speed. But it's at maybe 3 more than the 580, and your able to run 3 3D monitors on the single card alone, so for absolute powerhouse the 590 does beat the 580. But then again I aint willing to spend that much on a card when I don't even have 3 3D monitors so fuck the 590 :P

@robross1992 Depends on what kind of games you are going to play and what kind of resolution, you could go for the 560 sli, it will be fine for the next few years but you could also go for the 580, you could always plunk another one in.
