go to the .27 second mark of this clip..Lamont is driving but the shadow of the tree never moves..opps...still great show..just something I noticed over the years
my grandparents loved watching this. i can remember spending the night with them and watching sanford and son. they've been gone many years now, brings back good memories.
I haven't seen this show before but heard of it alot. It seems alot like the older british sit com Steptoe and son who had exactly the same type of business going, but the local term for it was rag and bone men. It probably was an american take on it. Look it up, lol
One of the funniest shows of all time. Redd Foxx made Fred Sanford into one of the funniest tv characters of all time like Sherman Helmsley made George Jefferson and Jackie Gleason made Ralph Kramden. Oh it's the big one!!!!!
Now THIS is a classic, Redd Foxx will forever be known as Fred Sanford and BTW, this show was on when The Joker's Wild was on CBS and Scooby-Doo was on CBS and abc and also when Superfriends, The Rookies, S.W.A.T., Starsky & Hutch, Concentration, Now You See It and U.S. of Archie were still on the air.
In reality this show was the brainchild of Bud Yorkin, Norman Lear and Yorkin were partners. what I liked about "Sanford and Son" mostly was that it wasn't to serious, it wasn't always making political statements like "All in the Family" and "Maude"! It was hilarious, no doubt cutting edge, the cast was superb, Red Fox literally was Fred!
Its so cool to see this. I remember watching Sanford and Son with my Sister when I was a kid. The theme song is so memorable. Thanks for posting it. It brightens my day.
no it wasnt he changed his name durig the civil rights movement he was a big malcom x supporter and he thought stanford was his slave name so he changed it
Happy Birthday to the memory of Redd Foxx!!!!
