  • i completely agree with the commentator ..

  • I love it when people compare snooker to pool hell all you play on most of the game is 6ftX6ft until all the red balls are gone then after that the real skill comes into play not to say it takes skill to play the whole game but like on a 41/2 x 9ft you play the whole table about every shot ....hmmmm I bet i get all kinds of feed back on this comment...lol

  • @oldhippie0 I assume you're referring to an American pool table? If the pockets were tighter, it'd be a great game (and 14.1 pool is the best variant on that table by a long way). English 8-ball played with World Rules is a fun game too - much more tactical and a break+dish is by no means a gimme. Of them all, snooker is by far the most demanding, and I play all three.

  • I was very happy that Steve won but it was obvious that Higgins tried everything to lose. This match was unfortunately fixed. Higgins played so bad like he has never ever played before by missing very easy balls and playing shit safeties on purpose.

He dragged Steve's victory through the mire.

  • @Mr2010Master For all the talk of match-fixing, Higgins was never actually found guilty of that. It is possible that what he did get embroiled in (in the background) put him under more pressure (the fear of it being discovered).

I'm no great fan of Higgins', but I've played enough snooker to know that anyone can feel the pressure

  • @tfn105 Of course there is much pressure but Higgins proved so many times that he can handle easily with pressure and Steve Davis didn't even play that good but he got many chances because Higgins missed very easy balls which he never missed before in matches. As for the match fixing thing. I saw the video with Higgins and the mafia, like he called it. And Higgins was so relaxed, sitting comfortabely and had a smile on his face while they were dealing with frame losing. It looked very real.

  • @Mr2010Master I'm not even arguing that validity of the decision regarding his match fixing allegations, I'm just saying that having something like that hanging over you while trying to play is a big weight. It's more pressure than the regular load, and I could believe he'd miss more if it was something he was worrying about.

Basically, I think the biggest shame about all of this is that Davis' victory was diminished by the Higgins scandal.

  • technically Steve Davis is perfect in everyway

  • one thing i notice about steve is he NEVER lifts up his cue after every shot and really keeps it there and watches the ball roll most of the time... sometimes a bit longer than usual but in a way quite an interesting reminder to normal players like us about it.. like as if he's teaching us a lesson.. he exemplifies discipline when it comes to snooker.. sorry my english isnt that good..

  • oh i remember... this is the game he fixed

  • very nice

  • just read up on the scandal that was surrounding him earlier on this year

  • don't upload videos that are out of sync.

  • higgins should be banned for life, like Pete Rose

  • @thefonz147 Why?

  • nice clearance by steve, thanks for uploading

  • nice clearance by steve

  • stephen hendry and steve davis are the best break builders..

  • what most people dont know about Steve is that he is a fuckin geezer. Met him in a curry house and he was pretty shitfaced, but he was a real laugh. Nothing like his on screen persona.

There was an awkward pause and he said 'so what you want me to do sign a fuckin popadum'

    ledge

  • @StyleSessions Best youtube comment ever.

  • That was superb. Steve went on to win the match. Best of luck mate you're a legend.

  • Great clearance, well done Steve for finally getting his form back after so many years of trying.

    Thanks for the upload

  • @mrluigimario i still don't understand how age can affect the game... i mean... it's not like u have to lift 100 pounds cue. As long as your hand is not shaking as you grow older, you should be as good as 20 years ago

  • @Bossiiiii But if you play a game of snooker yourself you realise how draining it is, and even more so at their level of concentration, the game does take its toll. I guess with age you just have more lapses in concentration as the commentators usually say with the older players.

  • @Bossiiiii your eyes r not the same when you turn 50 . im 30 now and i can hardly read the comment sometimes. i remember when i was 18 i use to c things miles away and could read things in the streets miles away from me . this is the difference

  • @adibeh good point mate, am 30 too, when i was 18 i could pot all the long balls now i cant it seems blury

  • @Bossiiiii I don't think its about age as I used to. Its about ones prep b4 a game, clear mind, good nights sleep, genreally not feeling tired.
