if u look closely at his hands before he makes the leap over his left and had about an inch and a half left of room if he slid his left hand over he would have had enough room on the other side to make it the cliff hanger really isnt much harder if u think about it since now instead of going down more u go across more so its less strain on ur hands its just they werent use to it

The slant hasn't caused anyone any problems, it is the massive gap right after that.
