Its implied that Zato sexual abused her and Venom as children. He raised them, taught them to survive, took them in and made them part of his guild-- but he also did monstrous things to them. Venom formed a sort of "Stockholm Syndrome" from it. She however resented him and killed him. Venom went the other way though and couldn't cope because after Zato's death, he had no one left to rely on. She does respect Zato, maybe even loved him. But she had to kill him to go on with her life.

Was this the only thing that really explains the true relationship between Zato and Millia? and then why it is she hunted him down (because he became a monster?)
