@TimeLordGuitar I am 16... and I think that Yngwie rocks, as well Iron Maiden, Stratovarius, and more metal bands. Not all the people that you call "kiddies" thinks the same. I don't like COB or Arch Enemy... but It's a matter of tastes.
Also, I like Rainbow, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and other classic Hard rock bands.
So, don't generalize... I don´t eat that shit on MTV. I listen real music. And still I'm a "kiddie".
@daniele87guitar he is not awful ppl just talk shit about him and rumors are make ppl think that he is a bad person he is not he is very kind and a good person yes he is tough but he is also calm and the best guitarist that have lived
I wish you god damn hypocrites would stop complaining about people bashing bands and doing so yourself in the same breath. Metal fans run around with inverted crosses all while enforcing very religious-like ideas of their preferred genre, it's laughable. Yngwie is great. Ritchie Blackmore is great. Bodom/Nightwish have their moments. But none of them would exist if it weren't for those who preceded them. None of them started completely from scratch or dreamed this shit up themselves. It evolves.

Whenever a rock music magazine (even Rolling Stones Magazine) does a top rock guitar-type album article, TRILOGY usually ranks as one of the top ten!...What an interesting time to be alive; performers from different geners had their own styles and trends---unlike today's over-hyped posers!!!
Unfortunately, it was the last time Jeff Scott Soto, an amazing leadman that he was, was with the band. Predecessor Mark Boals was okay the following year with the album TRILOGY, but, Scott is the bitch of the bunch! Andres Johansson did stayed with the band, however...
For those of you who haven't heard the album "Marchin Out", it's totally awesome; filled with storyine-type songs, it somewhat "motivates" a listener to go out and study world history (at least for me)...
@imfirus todo bien,no lo escribi al proposito el comnetario,es que estaba viendo un video de death y este video y queria firmar el de death pero me equivoque y firme este,y recien ahora me doy cuenta jajaja
still I think the drum solo by Garth in Wayne's World tops this... this was kitchen sink territory. At one point I thought he was going to get out a pair of coconuts...
@nicemutant Yeah, this is the kind of solo that's interesting to drummers. It's a rare drummer that can play a solo that a non-drummer can appreciate. Neil Peart comes to mind immediately. Can't think of many others.
this band is seriously talented, theres malmsteen whos god on guitar, JSS brilliant on vocals, jens johansson brilliant keyboardist, and the drummer does this amazing solo!
Yes and thats why Jeff was fired....... he became better and better and that didnt fit Mr. Malmsteens Ego. Jeff made it a BAND more and more, ...........
at first i thought it was going to be a longer guitar solo with the synthesizer as well as was caught of guard with the drum solo. sounded nice though........ i am impressed.
Aces. Yngwie's playing and composition speaks for itself. But... I think he owes a bit of gratitude to Jeff Scott Soto. Without, these great songs and VOICE, Yngwie's playing may have never come to light.
Jeff Scott Soto only sang 2 songs on Yngwie's 3rd album in America, after Steeler and the radio-friendly and successful Alcatrazz. Yngwie's success owes nothing to Soto.
I disagree. Actually, Yngwie was the big attraction that Alcatrazz had. Their shows were filled with guitar players, and their follow-up CD with Steve Vai didn't do nearly as well. Yngwie was not carried at all.
Yeah, the group as a whole just didn't mesh well despite all the talent. Steve Vai is a fantastic artist himself but even he couldn't keep the band afloat. It didn't matter who you had in the band, they lacked chemistry in my opinion.
I think thst Yngvie success has more to do with Graham Bonnet than JSS. Alcatrazz gave the chance to Yngwie to travel around the world and No Parole is still his best album!
Never heard a Graham Bonnet/MSG song on the radio ever in my life...though have heard Rock My Nights Away, Are you Ready to Rock, etc with Gary Barden. (Not that MSG was ever a big success/headliner anyway.) Don't know that Assualt Attack was their most succesful...seems unlikely.
records and tapes back then, if they were available I didn't see them until the early 90's and this was the bay area, ca. not some small town in the middle of nowhere, I agree this was the prototypical sorry drum solo of 80's bands, neil peart blew these guys out of the water
what an awesome song.. I bought this album when it came out in `85, it was my first CD as a matter of fact.. 23yrs later and it's still fresh and relevant. GREAT players are like that... I am not tired of listening to Loudness either.. Akira takasaki is another freak of nature on the guitar.. Freaks are cool !!
Wow what counted for skilled drum playing back then was pretty funny stuff. Then again what counts for skilled guitar playing today is not much better. Yngwie ahead of his time, drummer way behind.
There were great drummers in the 80's they just werent the focus of the songs like guitar and vocals. Today the guitars and vocals are a joke so the drums sound great.
That's the thing with music, if you hit bum notes, just keep to the beat at all costs anyway and keep playing. I heard this once, "one way is up, the other way is down, and you are never more than a fret away from a good note". I know the theory anyway on the fretboard.
It is very "cool" right now for metal kiddies to bash older bands/musicians like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Yngwie Malmsteen. The kiddies almost always worship the same 3 or 4 trendy fucking "Nordic" bands: Children of Bodom, the blatant Bodom clones (I.e.-Norther, Ensiferum, etc.), Behemoth and Arch Enemy. PLEASE FUCK OFF!
