First problem, your using green non bmw coolant which can corrode your head gasket and cause this problem, second you have replaced the hose with a strange aftermarket thing, use original parts, third it looks like ur reservoir tank has separated from the radiator due to old age the plastic warped...this is why its important to use original fluids and parts, or factory approved.
my beamer had the same problem so bought it a new water pump, thermo censor, and turned out the radiator needed cleaning..I think it was clogged up or something...you should look into that... goood luck
If it starts to overheat keep well below red. These 6 cylinders not do well overheating. The clutch fan has to be in good working order. With engine off, spin the fan, if it moves loose, the fan clutch needs replaced. If it moves stiff and stop right when you let go, then its good. And if the the electric fan does not turn on, check fuses, and power (You can find online the wiring schematic for that car for free) if good, check upper lower hose for heat transfer if one cold, change thermestat.
