One suggestion is your pick holding. If you just hold it with your forefinger and thumb, it's a lot easier. Let your other fingers just chill without hitting the strings. Watch my videos I guess for an easier way to pick that accepts smooth palm muting

dude great job. been playing for only one year??? very good for one year. the only for today song i've really tried to learn is infantry and its not too hard but most of their songs just boggle my mind with all their sweeps and stuff lol
