encoding time 23hrs... 24 hours... 1 day 2 hours...  2days 2 hours... do you really want me to keep counting, cause there is now ay you are going to sit here that long. 2days 4 hours... windows encountered a GPF-> read more... windows crashed, becuase the time count was spanning dangerously close to a plausibly y3k threat.

You must be truly naive to think video editors only work on Mac. The render times you quote are grossly disproportionate and antiquated. GPFs haven't happened since 9x days, so you lie also. I built (because I have that FREEDOM) my own PC workstation and it is the snappiest and most stable of any platform I've used. Post-prod pros laugh at your declarations.

I fail to see any mention of video editors strictly using mac's. Exhausting render times, I hope that you agree this depends on the size of video. However I enjoy watching windows time estimate continually rise for large video. On the GPF issue, I must say windows cleaned that up quite nicely with there new and improved send error to microsoft window (it was really a REMARKABLE transition). Bottom line you should have used your FREEDOM to install LINUX.

You alluded to the concept that WIN is useless/unstable for editors, and that MAC is exempt from long render times. Moot, since they're the same architecture now, and OS-centric optimizations are negligible. Avid is all Hollywood uses, maybe 10% FCP. There's a reason. Avid does run on MAC, but PC turnkeys are de facto. Check any good posthouse and see what the grownups use. And linux? 6_6 yeah...

In short, FCP is for the middle-low end market, but Avid is king...for now.

I've got a Cyberpower PC and a PowerMac G5 and I find myself using the PC way more because I can do more. Plus apple dosent let you pick your video card on most macs so you need to spend a lot more money.
