Im not sure what to believe with his Aids diagnoses. I remember when he first tested positive, then they had paramedics retest him at his house and he tested positive again. I think Tua's the last remaining quality heavyweight with this type of style, all the other heavyweights are either long range fighters, counterpunchers or idiots who wouldn't have lasted a round in the late 80's / early 90's.
great left hook that could've floored any heavyweight in that division at that time, and they knew it! Morrison's problem was, lousy inexperienced managment, glass jaw, and got too famous too quick. He was just starting to come around as a serious heavyweight contender, and we never saw what could've been.

The only problem was Tommy's chin. I've seen him go down with the lightest punch. He's a tough and great boxer but has the chin of just an average man. HE WOULD KILL ALL HEAVYWEIGHTS TODAY IF HE WAS IN HIS PRIME AND COULD MOVE WELL.

tommy was a pretty damn good fighter back in his day. i was a huge fan of him. he could've been awesome, but, what he lacked was an iron chin,stamina, and true boxing skills. what he did have was great power and heart. if he had a chin like Ray Mercer or Evander Holyfield, stamina like the 'prime' or young Mike Tyson, and boxing skills like Ali and Lennix Lewis, this man, Tommy Morrison, would've been up there with the ALL TIME greats of heavyweight boxing.

49 wins 3 losses 43 knockouts. why do people still say that morrison wasnt great ? two of his three losses came at the hands of legends like mercer and lewis , there is no shame in that. tommy morrison had the most explosive left hook ever seen in boxing. as a matter of fact , i would say that it may have been more powerful than marciano's left hook.

@MsMeese1 well i agree that what foreman did was impressive having won the title back at the age of 43 or 44 but i wouldnt say that morrison beat a prime foreman. morrison is one of the greats but beating a man who had more than a 20 year break isnt that impressive to me. what is impressive though is morrisons legendary left hook and his willingness to stand a trade with anyone.

Im not sure what to believe with his Aids diagnoses. I remember when he first tested positive, then they had paramedics retest him at his house and he tested positive again. Personally I think he has it,,, his old trainer had said that they were having trouble keeping weight on him before one of his fights. He has implants in his chest that look like chest muscles,,, its all bullshit

It's a terrible shame to of seen him go from promising exciting young heavyweight bombing his way through opponents to what he is today.
Just shows you what losing control and letting an ego go to head can do to your life.

I think Tua's the last remaining quality heavyweight with this type of style, all the other heavyweights are either long range fighters, counterpunchers or idiots who wouldn't have lasted a round in the late 80's / early 90's.

great left hook that could've floored any heavyweight in that division at that time, and they knew it! Morrison's problem was, lousy inexperienced managment, glass jaw, and got too famous too quick. He was just starting to come around as a serious heavyweight contender, and we never saw what could've been.

@DaReaperZ28 i used to think the duke's chin was bad but the more i think about it the punches that floored him they were always when he was in the middle of throwing a bomb & leaving himself wide open and thats the worst time to get hit bcos you don't see it coming, yes his chin wasn't great like foremans or hagler but it wasn't as bad as it's made out to be, he just set that a fast pace and put everything into every shot that when he was doing this left himself vulnerable..for example....cont

@TommyGun7111 I watched the full fight 3 times. Maybe he did try to ''run'' in the later rounds but in the early rounds he did fight Foreman toe to toe. To be fair even thought he did ''run'' away, how long he could skip for? 20 seconds maybe 30 seconds, I mean total. George has very little skill but big powerful puncher, would you fight him toe to toe? Even Ali did not. Foreman only can KO spmeone toe to toe, he moves too slow, so why would Tommy wants to fight in the way Foreman wants?

Ali only "danced" for one round, and that was mostly feeling him out.
THe rest of the time, he leaned on the ropes, and wore foreman down, taking his best shots. Don't think Morrison could do that.
Morrison is a good boxer. He's very exciting to watch and he hits very hard. But I don't think he's better then somebody like Jerry Quarry.
Morrison just does not have a very good chin. Puritty floored him twice and he's not even a hard puncher.

thats just a given. Yeah, he took heavy shots from Foreman. But Foreman didn't get the chance to follow up on it, and he wasn't hitting him very flush because Morrison was moving away the whole time
Bentt had like 0 experience. Tommy would've won that fight. Same with Mercer. Mercer took so many flush shots from tommy and then mercer hits him with one right hand and tommy's on queer street. and then mercer finishes him

Foreman could just as easily land a shot that would knock him out, as did mercer and bent. There's no reason why he wouldn't of got caught.
