to all the north indian douch bags...its from the tamil movie named bombay....stop calling this master piece as such it came from your shitty bollywood....douchers
Hmm.. Depends on how you look t it. The way i look at it (example): soldiers do what they are told to. The equipment they receive by their government help them doing what´s been told. So guess it´s kinda both, the weapon won´t work without being squeezed on the trigger, however we made our different ways to kill more effectivly. It´s just... easier to do it now..
I look at it in a slighty different context. It's that africa will take anything that it is given to it and use it for their own purposes regardless of what it is. Remember in the scene just before this one they took all the guns along with the plane. It s showing that without these arms dealers Africa could be a more peaceful place
These peasants have hated each other for uncounted generations. If they didn't have guns, they would use rocks and sharp sticks. Africa would be no more "peaceful" if the guns were taken away. They would hate each other just as much. Perhaps the body count might be less, but not by much.
This is one of the best scenes in this movie without a doubt.
In fact, this sequence really gives a different perspective on ourselves as human beings. In the scene the people look very much like a horde of ants, scurrying to and fro while stripping the carcass of some much larger creature until there is nothing left.
Well since no one actually responded to your post..lol I agree it is a great scene and it does showcase a sort of primitive side to us as humans, but that's the nature of life. Taking what he said out of context though, the nature of life I see in this is the will to survive, and human ingenuity to use the plane in any way possible for their benefit.
In addition to your comparison of humans to ants (which I liked) some food for thought is unlike the ants devouring a carcass we(humans) CREATED the cargo plane which we then dismantle. Showcasing the human race's ability to create as well as demolish. I do not think this says anything negative about human nature, rather shows the beauty of our ability to adapt, and use our environment in a productive way. Both groups of people, those who created the plane and those destroying it were doing so...
...to serve a purpose, and better their lives in some way.The ability to adapt, and improve ones live is one of the greatest things about humanity this is evident even in those who dismantled the cargo plane who are living under an oppressive regime somewhere in Africa.
I rented this movie and when I saw this Bombay theme I scrolled thru the credits few times but there was no credits to either ARR or the producer of the movie... so it is a striaght copy of Hollywood from Bollywood... I guess it is payback time !!!

The planet's supreme being taking cotrol is nothing new. I dun think we shd be feeling guilty about it. The question is where do we go from here.
