  • @MegaGamerRo hmm... I'm guessing no more than 29:]

  • Just got mine yesterday looks like a boss :D

  • Have it, Love it

  • ASUS actually discontinued the G53JW and replaced it with a superior and more affordable G53SX-DH71. The exterior and construction of this new model is almost identical to the model shown in this video.

    hope that helps :)

  • Who much and like to the laptop on your site please

  • which one is better g73 or this one???

  • @wan9572 same specs but bigger screen

  • How many years will this laptop last ?

  • wtf the powerplug is on the right -____- idiots

  • Is there any way to order a laptop from you guys without the stickers?

  • @Nilephan666 Those stickers usually come off without any residue. Besides, wouldn't you want to advertise that power to all the nerds that see it? :D

  • @NatebotVlogs Eh... not when I'll be bring it to a programming class. I'd rather not have it stolen. LOL

  • Looks awesome going to get

  • is it heavy ?

  • @HXL056100 3.8kgs so yes

  • some are saying that the ''special'' sound-card frm ROG is just a lame creative soundcard onboard...is that right? or do you feel some special effects when you're playing? pls tell

  • I felt like this review was rather negative when there really wasn't much to complain about. You made a big deal out of the oil that gets on the lid of the computer? Wash your hands maybe? Rather then pointing out all the flaws with the laptop how about talk about what it does right. A review does not mean you have to point out every flaw there is, point or the positives too. Not the best review of anything I've ever seen.

  • Asus g53jw or g53sw? please reply don't know the difference and can't pick (:

  • @wweehheehhoohhaa The G53sw has Intel's sandy bridge processor, which is their 2nd generation i7 processor. The sandy bridge processor allows for a longer battery life of around 3 hours surfing the web or using a Microsoft word application, and the processor gives the computer a bit more power in gaming (or so I've heard). So the g53sw gets better battery life and a bit better performance than the g53jw.

  • @SyrusXify thanks for replying (: i'll keep that in mind when choosing for my birthday (:

  • love how u compared this to the g73, since i am deciding between the 53 and 73. it's a $100 difference for me, and i like how the g73 looks more.

  • I've had this laptop for 3 months, it's unbelievable, but DON"T PLUG THE CHARGER IN IF YOU PLAN ON MOVING IT AROUND, the pin is extremely fragile

  • @23randomONE23 Hey PLEASE reply....I have had this since 1-22-2011...GRET laptop, but the pin acadaptor just screweed me---I AM SO careful with this thing,...I REALLY was...Wht did you do..I am typing from my OLD gateway laptop...PLEASE reply as to what to do...I know I will take it to FRYS or etc,...Best buys Geek Squad seems WAY expensive---I can use my 1 time thing and send it back for repair only,..but it will be 2-3 weeks and I would prefer to use it IF I really like spill, or bad next plz

  • I would have loved to see the power cable at the back but that damn cooling system gets in the way x(

  • is around $2000 a reasonable price? in the UK i found it for £1.554 which coverts to around that amount

  • Are the mouse buttons on the touchpad backwards? (for lefties)

  • whyy would you ever put the power plug on the right side when the majority of humans are right handed. awkward cords

  • @Dogsofwar909 most of asis are left handed

  • Public speaking 101. don't say uhhhhhhhhhh all the time

  • what do u think of its mouse and bag that comes with it

  • skip to 0:15 if u dont want to hurt ur ears

  • does it have a subwoofer?

  • So ugly

I like the sager np8130 so much moar

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko play on battery ,take a break... play on battery some more :)

  • How much was this?

  • Would it work with Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands?

  • @vladutzzss im sure it will. it works with crysis 2 on max

  • do you guys ship to Canada?

  • fuck platic whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • that laptop was very good.. but i was just thinking.... what do you call that stand that you are using dude? the rotating thing is very cool.. can you tell me what stand are you using?

  • Just flip the cord the other way...

  • is GPU the only difference between g73 and g53??

  • ugh why is the power plug there..

  • how come all g53jw on ebay with 6gb ddr3 is running at 1333mhz and amazon's with same specs is @ 1066mhz. Might this be a typo on amazon's part? please help

  • 0:16 *Spots power cable*

    FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • @funkjon if you set the battery mode to full battery saver mode, dim the screen completely, turn off wifi and maybe turn off intel's turbo boost in the bios you might be able to squeeze 3 hours. I am thinking probably closer to 2.5 hours still, but it is possible. If Asus would just release the extended life batteries i might be able to report how much life an extended life battery would give. However i think the current cell amount is all we are getting.

  • Be careful when choosing for school, some models with ATI cards won't run a lot of programs that require NVidia. The G73 is highly compatible, I run Pro Tools, Avid Media Composer, CS5, etc.

  • @sizuforever

The G53 will be the better option of the two for you. not that it has fantastic battery life anyway, but of the two it is going to give the best results there. You can expect 2-2.5 hours of battery life on the G53 and 1-1.5 hours on the G73. Overall really they are identical besides the full rubberized plastic on the G73, the G53 has some areas not fully rubberized so it is a little more apt to showing oil on your fingers/hands. That is my only gripe with the G53. Great machine

  • i just brought this laptop and i love it its so awesome no negative info. about it so far its been almost a month and im loving it

  • i want good or u can say better battery life??? also better portability.. should i go for the g53 or the g73???? i need it for college so i will be carrying it to class also taking it on bike trips

  • @henjn6 73 is a bigger size is, also has bigger storage, 750 for xa1 1tb for a1 and ram is 8gb for both, the a1 for 73 is also got blue ray burner

  • @henjn6 yea the only difference is the screen size

  • Gameplay on this laptop on my channel! (Crysis 2)

  • if you want the real specs check out asus.com

go to the global/english tab above the search.

    search g53jw.

16 gigs for all of the quad core g53 models!

  • wow....amazing review

  • Is it worth it buy this for 1500 USD?

  • @jef2907 Personally, I think it is. If your going to get a laptop with these specs, this is prob about the best price you can get. (well a few 100 less on the website, but whatever) Wait for the Sandy Bridge to come back in a month or so, best buy at about the same price.

  • 1:02 1.5 gig Memory Card

    WHAT

  • is there any difference between this and the XA1 other than price?

  • Ta voix est gossante pis ta gorge au début aussi prend de l'eau avant de parler criss...Sinon le Asus parait bien

  • DUDE WTF!!!! different design webcam my ass....it has some 3D feature to it...i wached this video cuz i thought u were going to go over it but u prolly dont even know.

  • This graphics card is not just pretty decent. The guy talking about this laptop is a fucking moron.....

the gtx460 is a great card

  • @esp139 It's a middle class card. Not to mention you can get the same laptop for the same price with the superior Mobility Radeon 5870

  • @HalfLifeHalfDead

LOL. You dont know what you're talking about. ATI cards are absolutely horrible. I had a laptop with the 5650 and that card couldnt even run sc2 on low settings with a i7 processor. The 5870 is not better than the gtx 460...... This is not a middle class card.... Its among the top 3 best nvidia laptop cards. Just visit their website

  • @esp139 your right that the 460 isn't a middle class card, but with all the newer cards coming out it's getting lower and lower on the chart. Same thing is happening with the 5870, granted it is faster than the 460, but it runs a LOT hotter. Now the 5650... it is pretty bad but should be able to run sc2 on low, pretty sure ou were just showing your hate towards ATI(which is now AMD), but how many gigs of ram did you have? one? :P

  • @shocktoast

Right now there is the 470, 480, and 485m that are all better than the 460. In terms of laptops those are the essentially the only ones I know of that are better right now. Yeah I;m sure I maintain bias when it comes to debating ati and nvidia but ati often never has enough memory space to run these games unless you purchase the highest end one. But I will say this the 5650 could barely run sc2 on low settings, barely..... and that computer i had, had 6gbs of ram.

  • @esp139 you, sir, are an incorrect moron.

  • @HalfLifeHalfDead Check out some benchmarks, or do them yourself.

And yes, 5650 is shit, but you know why? Because it is a LOW level card, it's like saying 430 GT is shit... Jesus, I don't think I am the one who doesn't know what he's talking about. And visit Nvidia's website? Sriously, the actual manufacturer?!

Gt 460 is exactly middle class and is pretty much the best choice in it's category. But don't go telling 5870 is 'shit', because it outperforms the 460 by a long shot.

  • @HalfLifeHalfDead

the 5870 does not out perform the 460 moron............

  • @esp139 I agree! I also dual boot linux as my workstation for programming and ati still has crap drivers for linux! NVIDIA FTW! Got a 470 GTX watercooled in my desktop, never once had an issue w/ it. My old laptop had the 4600 hd ati series and it constantly had some buggy fuzzy spots! In linux had nasty borders in the display that were pixelated due to crap ati proprietary drivers.

  • @esp139 Check some benchmarks, "moron".

  • HOW MUCH?

  • @lacojhumpackz on xoticpc(dot)com us$1,475

  • @lescakes On tigerdirect is 1300 buddy.

  • @gamersgonebad thx for the info^^

  • @lescakes yw

  • does xoticpc accept installments? where can i get this laptop that accepts installments?

  • How do you change the color of the back light? Thanks.

  • @AntionetteJaleesa yes he does mention it can at approx 3'

  • @AntionetteJaleesa yes he does mention it can at approx 3'

  • jeez could asus atleast explain the stupid placement of the power plug????? i mean, its not like the designers would not realize that that would make it difficult to use a mouse...

  • I want this pc but im righthander. THE REPUBLIC OF POWER PLUG FAIL ! ! ! !

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko Anyone know if there's a 90 degree adapter for the power input?

  • Comment removed

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko Just run the wire from the back :)... If the disk drive was on the right I think people would complain about hitting the button and having the mouse in the way when opening the drive. Sure beats spending 2,500 on dell's fail alienware! Go custom create one to the same specs as this machine. Incredible how they can sell the "brand name" that non techies are suckered into. I spent a total 1400 w/ a 120gb intel ssd! Add ssd to the alienware build, price from 2500 to 2900...

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko

normally the power plug would go into the back, however they put the exhausts there..

id say it's better that way

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko as long as you have a way to send the cord backwards like a desk it doesn't get in the way.

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko

    use wireless mouse la

  • @zmetekotrapnyjebko Unlucky mate, im left handed, but i use that only for eating and throwing things :L

  • Wow, the power port location is major fail. I used to want this laptop so bad, but that port location is enough to turn me away sigh..

  • Nice. They put the power port on the right hand side where most people put their mouse. Asus must have some fail designers.

  • @asdfxyz1 there are lots of notebooks out there with the power on the right

  • @techonyoursix Im sure there are. But this is a gaming notebook. 99% of people gaming on a gaming notebook wont be using the trackpad. Majority of that 99% will be using a mouse with their right hand. They couldnt have routed it to somewhere in the back? Or a little higher up at the very least?

  • Hello,

I called Asus Support Belgium and they told me they didn't know for sure if you could replace the HDD without voiding the warranty.

Now my question is if you know if you can replace the HDD with and SSD without voidng the warranty.

  • I HATE YOUR INTRO...IT HURT MY BLOODY EARS...NOW THEIR BLOODY!

  • @SoooOOOoooOOOoooT Learn to spell.

  • @SoooOOOoooOOOoooT Their bloody what?

  • @apcpatrick max is 16GB not 8GB you have to swap the 2GB sticks for 4GB sticks.

  • Is it really able to support 16GB of ram? On the intel page for the i7-940xm, it says it only supports up to 8 not 16.

  • @xshadowspherex max is 8 gb,

  • @russzkij on the US website, an m17 with the same processor, memory and hdd size + crossfire 5870 goes up to 3000$, so it's twice the price for just an extra gpu!

  • @russzkij Is it safe to overclock and it it that way for a long time or will it wear down the GPU chip faster?

  • which one is better, gtx 460m or ati mobility hd 5870?

  • when i click the light button nothing happens..help?

  • how much is a spare battery, i really want to get it but i also need it for school

  • Comment removed

  • I have to say that if you like the G73's mousepad bar better than these two buttons, then I have no doubt that I would LOVE the G53's because that had to be the single worst thing on the G73... damn button bar sucked and was waaaaaay too big.

  • This baby right here just saved Christmas.

I ordered one for $1500 off of Newegg, and even though it's specs are equivalent to an Alienware M15x, it's an entire $1000 cheaper. CAN'T WAIT.

  • @00033 me too:)

  • how much does it cost, plz respond

  • @liver142 $1500 in Canada, probably cheaper in the USA

  • @liver142 $1,475.00 USA if you want everything as is and not customize it like putting in more RAM or something. That's the price on xoticpc, the people who made this video. They also have discounts. Pretty good price.

  • Hey Xotic PC are you guys still located in Lincoln, Nebraska?

  • this is my dream laptop. I've been running an HP, Intel Centrino Duo and Vista, 250gb HD, 1GB RAM since 2006. This ASUS would make my current laptop look like a bag of flaming dogshit. I'm getting it.

  • Just in time for tax season :D

  • How does this laptop compare to the alienware m11x? I want to buy a gaming laptop that can also be used for longer periods for writing, taking notes, writing papers, doing other things while not plugged in. How long diagonally is the m11x? I think the 11'' measurement is taken horizontally.

  • @Acaseofchaos The measurement for any computer screen is the diagonal size of it. The M11X is overpriced for any laptop, least of all an 11" one. This here G53 in case you missed it in the video is a 15.6" screen. For your needs (like that of any college student) include something with a good battery life for low power web browsing and documenting while still being able to game when plugged in. I would recommend something with a 2.6 dual core, 4GB RAM, nVidea GT 335M (that is what the M11X has).

  • This is a portable hight end gamming laptop ,an integrated graphics card is completely usless, as logically its purpose served does not compansate the amount of heat produced , putting a integrated graphics card is gonna ruin this machine , usually lan parties alocate a desk and usually it is with a powerdork , so this laptops serves it purpose, accually you can set this notebook to low power mode which basically doubles its battery life to about 4 hours+++++ and you have portable 3d.

  • Comment removed

  • @Fatipedia Who is the blind one idiot , i despise integrated graphics the most, dint you read my comments?, im pointing out that a high end discreet graphics card would be able to function in terms of power consumtion of a mid efficiency integrated graphic card if set to the lowest power term.

  • Does this computer come with integrated graphics. for longer battery life?

  • @FuckoffTard god no

  • @vespers119 >( Had it only had integrated graphics, i would have bought it, no question asked, but since it doesn\t, I might just go for an alienware..

    FUCKING ASUS FAILING BIG TIME!!!!

  • @FuckoffTard why? integrated graphics suck. why get a gaming computer that has integrated?

alienwares don't have it either i don't think.

  • @vespers119 ialieaware does have integrasted graphics.. But really. why get a a notebook as a a gaming laptop. this was goona be my travel pc

  • @FuckoffTard i'm getting one because i want to be able to move around with it. i don't expect this thing to have much battery life at all, but i don't mind since i'll always be using it plugged in.

with the integrated graphics you lose a lot of performance. any gaming laptop isn't going to have much battery life anyway, because you can't really get that without losing power.

  • @vespers119 With integrated graphics you couldview movies and music without the battery runnig out. The alienware m11x has it even

  • @FuckoffTard right but any old computer can do that. if you want to wtach movies and play music then get a cheap one with integrated graphics. this computer is designed to play games and to get the power it needs to be able to do that (it can't compare to desktops) it needs to sacrifice battery life.

if you want to play games like bfbc2 or mw2 you need a powerful machine, but this computer is not really meant to be something you'd use on a plane. it's basically a desktop replacement.

  • @vespers119 Your absolutely right. but id still like to see it with integrated graphics... Im an enthusiast goddamn it. I need the best!

  • @FuckoffTard lol XD

  • @FuckoffTard You obviously are not an enthusiast gamer.

    Integrated graphics stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • @FuckoffTard Are you retarded? No. It has an NVIDIA GT 335M.

Integrated graphics are the worst graphics EVER. You are dumb.

  • @Fatipedia Actually it has the gtx 460m, So who is dumd here?

Anyways, I know it has a graphics card. I was asking if it had intgrated graphics you could switch over to, for longer battery life.

  • @FuckoffTard

I don't believe it has nVidia Optimus :(

  • Comment removed

  • @Fatipedia Lol I think he wants it so you can turn off the graphics card to conserve battery life and switch to Integrated for less demanding tasks

  • @vespers119 Soory. what i meant to write> Wh get a gaming computer that is a laptop.. xD

  • @superbroombroom

Laptops aren't built to last, I've yet to run into a "reliable" gaming laptop.

Maybe if you go to the ivy league (alienware, falcon northwest) haha but thats breakin the bank.

  • would it be possible to sacrifice the 740QM processor and put a i7-620L/M or i5-580 kind of processor in it to enable nvidia optimus, or is that disabled in the BIOS or just not possible?

  • 8:21 Eeeenteresting :P

  • XOTICPC - I hate to tell you, but I own a G73JW and have zero problems with my keyboard. Maybe you should learn how to type? lol Just kidding! For those experiencing keyboard lag, download and install the Asus Keyboard Device Filter Utility from their support website. Again, I have zero issues with the keyboard and I type at 120 words/minute :D

  • woooo i'm getting this badboy tomorrow!! yeahhhh

  • @lalalahaha1234 where did u get it?

  • @0r7izProductions pccanada.com, getting the $1350 one (4gb ram) since i could upgrade ram later on for cheap anyway

  • @0r7izProductions oops, sorry i got it from ncix.. pccanada.com has some models too.. its good for me so i dont need to ship from the states (living in canada)

  • where you buy this in CANADA?!?

  • @StrongChineseArmy NCIX.com

  • You sounded pretty excited when you brought up hand oil and rubbed the laptop

  • I've heard it's hard to OC the i7 on a laptop, how did you OC yours?

  • @VagabonNinja Its got a one button OC feature

  • How did you rip the touch pad cover off without sliding the latch into the open position?

Hopefully you figure out how to do it the right way when people buy this product from you...

Next time practice before making a review, it makes you look better...

  • where do you order this laptop?..

  • I CAN'T WAIT TILL MINE ARRIVES, BEEN WAITING SINCE SEPTEMBER!!!!!

  • AH

    theres sound!

    Great video!

  • Your voice reminds me of Dr. Spencer Reid from "Criminal Minds"

  • this is a high end laptop but no Blu-Ray burner??

  • Comment removed

  • @smithsterj Yes. Blu-Ray not needed on a laptop. To get the full effect for Blu-Ray you need a proper TV, not the laptop display no matter if it's 1080p and 17" +. Not the same. DVD is more than enough to watch on a lappy.

  • Do you think they will bring this new fixed keyboard to the G73jw?

  • I HAV BEEN W8IN 4 THIS VID IN AGES

  • FOURTH

  • Which would you recommend? the g73jw model or this one?

  • @nomnomdk

    I own a g73.

The CPU performance is virtually the same in terms of OC. The nVidia 460 matches REALLY close to the G73's Radeon 5870. The 5870 is a bit stronger, but the benefit of the nVidia 460 is that more games are made for nvidia cards, which means you better performance. But over all, both are great machines. It just comes down to if you prefer a 15 inch or 17.

  • @RussianInquisition

Can you play BF2 at medium - high at good speeds? I own a desktop with a 480 and I can get 60 fps at max details and I will def. notice it if it goes at 30 fps. Does this play BF2 more than 30 fps if I put details to medium - high?
