@sailqueen We normally tie the canoes up and take our valuables with us. Anyone could've stolen our canoes, but we put our faith in people and that it was a public area that no one would steal anything. Although, I learned my lesson in Grand Rapids when someone sifted through our stuff, took out the camera and started taking pictures. We figure they were kids because the only things stolen were gatorade and cookies :)

Yes, the Portage was a bit more difficult than normal after the beers!

Always love to see that you have put up another episode of your journey. You must have felt that, after 12 days, you would NEVER get out of Minn. It's a long long river before you ever leave the state, and you still have a ways to go. Always amazed at how your cameraman does such a great job, capturing every important thing, from insects to eagles, and local cafe patrons' advice.
