@kkaylesss in some ways you are right ... i liked the film ... i worked in advertising for a while (and now work in the trades) and know that there is truth there ... but i think the message is more about "glamour is an illusion and often rotten and unfair" than about unappreciative young girls ... there is an extreme there that needs to be addressed ... i think sara and ole did a great job doing just that
this was the worst film I ever saw. Could have actually revealed something and had a point, instead just makes models look whiney and ungrateful. Try working construction for shit money
The fashion industry is a fantasy, but it still exists within reality, bad people exist and bad things happen. Ultimately, you made a shit ton of money and traveled the world while most American youth are working there ass off to pay for school, then graduate and still don't know what they want to be.
Try working 80+ hours a week in a factory in China for $60 US dollars and then see if you complain about having to wear dresses and walk in a straight line for $70,000.
@fivestarchicken it's not only about wearing dresses and walking in a straight line. that's what the movie is all about, that there happens a lot more BEHIND the scenes that other people don't know about.
I see the movie today ( from France, paris) and i was not surprising that much cause i saw sometimes so many model and they always want to make you feel like they feel good ... about the face , attitude ect ... but you know into your head that they not so happy that much and this is just stupid to make work youngs girls at age 12 ? it's just ridiculous...
Totally uninteresting people make totally uninteresting stories. I prefer real life with real people who have a bit of a connection to life on earth instead of getting exploited for tons of money for what? Nothing really.
Oh yeah, you get treated baddly. Cool, when I heard about this movie I thought it was going to be about how models are forced to be skinny and how that in turn make millions of girls every day feel self-concience about themselves and causes thousands of eating disorders and suicides each year.
But if some guy is being a little rude I guess that's grounds for anoyance as well.
there's a bollywood movie that came out in 2009 called Fashion and its kinda sorta similar to this, showcases the stuff that happens in the modeling world in india
Like any business, it can be sleazy. I got out after about five years, which felt like a lifetime. There were plenty of good times, don't get me wrong, and I don't regret the experience.
im very interested in watching this movie. i have never heard of sara ziff til now. her smile is wonderful. shes a bit on the plainer side but shes cute. she reminds me of my friend tanya.
I prefer a weird fashion industry than an erotic oriented one. Even if people still claim the shows are ugly and all. I mean yes the clothes may be pretty but the models cannot be showed off like in the 50s or 60s and it is a weird kind of evolution.. Well, it's fashion, fashion is weird.
@Bira92 I believe you Bira. The point is that you just move back and report them to the police. Yes career is over but it's not really worth it. I mean, you are right. But this is one of the reasons why gay men are so appreciated in fashion industry, it's the honest truth.

@Chucktanium Young girls being molested and in some cases raped, at least in my book, is more than "a little rude"
