  • You don't use an EXTERNAL hard-drive to increase performance; the idea is that you use a seperate INTERNAL hard drive. People get this mixed up all the time.

If you can afford it, a solid state drive is faster than a traditional mechanical one.

  • how to i get a external hardware or find my external hardware

  • This is really boring

  • Thanx for sharing this tip with up about Maschine brah...for those those that don't know or understand that its a standard rule for Professionals that use DAW's and production software to use a external hard drive for writing information...so that you dont ruin you HD...no matter what type of drive your are using.....STOP HATING on this mans video...he is sharing info.....WHAT ARE YOU DOING????? Thanx for th info again fam.....Fuck these lames!!!!

  • You are homO fake ass mutherfucker ...!!!!!!!

  • @8400Nassim lol. Why am I a homo to you ass face dude?

  • @hitcreatormusic It's probably some kid being silly smh lol

  • @8400Nassim Go away moron !

  • my 2009 macbook pro is working fine with it so far.

  • WOW THANKSSSSSS!!

  • eh your better off havin a better computer. it doesn't take much. everything runs fine for me. and if i'm performing live i need all my sounds on my harddrive.

  • @dandyrandy88 Yeah I know. I change the title to this video to let people know not to do it. Also I bought a Apple Imac 27" I7 quad core computer in january. i'm good now. Sub to my new channel producersanddeejays

  • @hitcreatormusic I got the imac 21.5. Those things are nice. Just started using the Maschine today coming from only using keyboard samplers (particularly fantom x6) needless to say I'm totally lost. lol smh You know of any tutorials on beat making? I just need to know basic things like how to delete something if I mess up, things like that.

  • @zayemusic use a audio interface for low latency

  • could an external hardrive be a cd?

  • Excellent point Man. I've always done this with good results. Thanks for sharing.

  • What about the new solid state drive on the new macs ? Would that be better

  • Ok. I won't.

What kind of computer did you get?

  • @MichaelUhler I bought a iMac 27" i7 quadcore. It cost me $2,129 but it was worth it. I use it for music production and video production.

  • Thank you!!!

That sounds like it makes alot of sense!

I'm gonna go and try it. I really appreciate the advice.

  • @MichaelUhler don't do it. I solve my problem by buying a faster computer

  • Makes sense

  • this is helpful gotta try it but have a question.how do you get to the low latency on maschine

  • Comment removed

  • get ads off your shit whore

  • I don't have any glitches or pops on my set up, FYI.... Home built, 3.2 ghz quad core (I know maschine doesn't support multicore), 4 GB ram, 7200rpm HDD's, firewire interface, Windows 7 pro (optimised for music production) My cpu meter rarely hits above 1/2. My sound library loads almost instantaniously. My opinion if it aint broke don't "F" wit it. Good lookin out, for those that are having those problems. Keep up the good work hitcreator.

  • I just want 2 thank u Warren G for ya helPful video PIIIIMP!!!

  • Do not use a external hard drive!

    Bad advice man.

Maschine has issues with Pro Tools, via plugins.

Making your computer get files from external is a lot slower and more cpu intensive.

When it comes time to update remember the new path or you guys/gals will have a new headache.

I've never had any problems with Maschine on my only drive, but if this works go for it I guess, but I'd check all other avenues first.

  • yeah... Native Instruments doesn't tell us that because they expect you to have a descent sound card.

  • u got a ic or is dat a phone g?

  • So are the sounds running straight off the hard drive when you're playing the maschine in real time? Just wondering if maybe I should pick up a firewire hard drive or if a USB drive would work fine.

  • i have windows vista i tried what you said mine doesnt say share it says maschine library and when i drag it to my external hardrive it says that it is an error that i might need to load a cd or something please help me out cause mine glitches all the time thanks

  • so do you then delete the library off the main hard drive or do you have the library on two different drives?

  • good lookin out wit that tip my brutha!

  • @clhomie I'm hitting you from my other channel. Don't do what I said. If you use Mac, just get an intel base Mac and you shouldn't have any crashing problems.

  • Just starting out.. what should i get MPC 1000 or MASCHINE???

    PLEASE HELP! CAN'T DECIDE!!

  • @alex927 if you have a coomputer get a maschine.

  • @alex927 Maschine + a Laptop (IMHO) The MPC1000 is a bit out dated now. Native Instruments make my favourite production tools at the moment.

  • What the specs on your mac?

  • yo what up bro?

Got a question. I want to set up my midi keyboard in the maschine software. i got a problem with this. i cant find "audio&Midi" there is nothin in preferences about it. hope you can help me !

  • I never had any low performance nor crashing problems oh wait, I have an mpc hahahaah

    :P

  • can i use a digital turntable with my maschine?

  • i have been working maschine, traktor and logic (to record teh session) + imovie 09 (to catch the vid)....all at the same time - off a 13" macbook pro - 2.53, 4GB, 7200 rpm 320 GB HD, and a few otehr previous macs as well. not a problem. latency set to 64 - multi channel output. for current systems with SATA drives, maschine is just a blink - its nowhere near cpu or HD bandwith maxes!

  • Also if you are looking at pro tools... If you have a MAC you should be fine but if you have a PC make sure you check to see if your computer is compatible with pro tools because some PCs do not run well with Pro Tools. I'm using an Athlon 3Ghz AMD CPU 64bit dual core and it works completely fine it has been Beta tested with no errors! You can check all this on the Digidesign website.

  • Also if you are serious about ur music and so on Buy a HDD with the fastest speed you can get... The HDD will only spin as faster as the HDD will let it... Also working with music we tend to edit delete move files around so do a disk defrag every now and then to make your HDD quicker at locating files. With Pro Tools it can take alot of processing power so it really is a good Idea to have the program and everything to do with pro tools on your other HDD drive.

  • I run my samples off a RAID 0 dual SSD drive setup, and it is silky slick smooooothe :-)

  • Now... quick question... would this work to make Traktor Scratch Pro work smoother? Moving all my music to another hard disk?

  • I'm not sure. I've never work with traktor scratch. I was thinking about buying traktor scratch.

  • Go for it... I've been using it for almost a year now... opens up more performance possibilities... I just moved all my music to the other drive on my laptop... I'm gonna see if it makes things any better... so far it seems to have less CPU usage.

  • What laptop has 2 drives? You mean the other partition?

  • @MrPulltab My Hp Dv0260nr has two 640 gb hard drives it cam with two 109 gb there are a loto fo laptops with rtwo hard drives, and my laptop is 3 years old still runs like a champ, but as far as this video get a Mac or eun music Daws from a Desktop and external firwire or usb audio device you wont have the glitches as he said in this video.

  • I mean Hp Dv9260nr

  • @hitcreatormusic Hey Kay, should I remove the library on my main hard drive after installing it on my external? Let me know. Thanks.

  • @DJEddieFocus Yes, it will a lot.

  • hey like the channel! I followed the video there is nothing in my shared folder i cant find the factory library to copy over??

  • One reason this might have worked in terms of speed is that most laptops have 5400rpm hard drives (to save energy - even Macbooks pro) while external self powered hardrives have 7200rpm. My laptop has 7200rpm hardrive so kits load very fast, but I experience glitches. Will try that...

  • cool man, I haven't had any glitches or anything with the software and how it runs. But I do keep my sounds/samples on a separate partition, even though it's not a separate hard drive. When I build my daw it will have a drive specifically for all my samples and sounds.

  • Thanks. I'll have tog google raid array

  • Another option is to use a RAID array in your workstation. *If at all possible go with RAID 5.

  • thanks for that information.. seems i need an external harddrive now cause even with my decent new laptop i have glitches every now and then... but i think it should work on the same harddrive as well.. maybe it will work smoothly on internal hd with the next update.. who knows

  • I only had problems with maschine crashing if I loaded up 5 or 6 groups with sounds. since protools digidesign recommends recording sessions to an external harddrive, that gave me the idea to try moving the maschine library to an external drive. My maschine now loads kits faster and runs a lot better. I cant see how an update will solve the performance glitches. I guess that may be possibility.

  • i need some more external space anyway.. i gonna buy an e-sata drive as this is quite fast on data transfers.. lets see if this will do the magic for my windows vista laptop and maschine..

  • i get it now haha thankkkksssssss
