Well, the movie execs agree about Gaspard as Alec- I heard he's been signed. I think I would better love to see Viggo as Luke though, channeling some of that Hobbit-daddy man vice from LotR. Alex looks right for the part, but I dont really care if they get him or not- just as long as who they get can truly play Jace with all the layers and depth he requires. Logan Lerman, even though he doesnt have brown eyes is my fave for Simon. God, I cant wait to hear who the really cast.

Sorry, I can't agree with Jamie C. as Jace. I just don't see toughness in Jamie's face; he looks too waiflike...or Peter Pan like... I think the guy you cast as Hodge is too young, however, I really liked the thought of Diego Luna as the wizard, Magnus, even though Magnus is 19 or something. :)

I've seen plenty of books made into movies that weren't successful at all...the entire storyline of the book was lost somewhere is the screenwriter's and director's own creative liberties. I mean, Earthsea, Eragon...there are even moments in Twilight that stray from the awesomeness of the book. Here's hoping the AMAZING books stay amazing in film!
