Liquid's arm 'possessing' Ocelot was one of the stupid things about this game. If they wanted to bring Liquid back, they should have just brought him back in the flesh. Otherwise, just keep Ocelot as Ocelot. And yes, I know it was Ocelot faking it, but the idea of someone else's personality being able to take over another's persona period is stupid in this game.

Kill Snake so many times. The whole plan seemed kind of convoluted and needlesly complicated. There were a dozen of things that could have gone haywire. But then again I was a pit dissapointed in learning who the real patriots were after all.

Don,t get me wrong. MGS4 was a good game, but I think they may have been unable to tie the whole thing together. What I don,t get is the Liquid Ocelot thing. Okay, he wants to fool the patriots AIs. I get that, but why would he want to become someone who is only intrested in bringing chaos and war to the world? Seems a little needles. And why is he fighting Snake? The two seem to have an same objective. And was he counting on Snake uploading the virus into the AIs. If so then why did he try to

@TheMorrisseyMan My guess has always been that he was truly Liquid in this one because he had Liquid's arm and after he got it replaced he turned back to Ocelot and then did the thing with the nano machines and hypno therapy. Because if you look in MGS2 he had all of Liquid's characteristics and personality, but in MGS4 he only really seemed to have common knowledge of what Liquid wanted. He wasn't the same as Liquid at all.

@TheMorrisseyMan After MGS2 Ocelot replaced Liquid's arm with a cybernetic arm, therefor in MGS2 Ocelot is actually being controlled by Liquid, in MGS4 Liquid no longer exist. Ocelot went under hypnotherapy in order to conceal that fact.

It would have been awesome if James Flinders returned in MGS4. I know why he didn't but since Ocelot was Liquid (in a sense) it would've made sense. Of course the reason they didn't is through the reasoning that it was only Liquids personality and desires rather than him taking over like he was in this game. Still, I liked his voice.

cloning has a bad side: the cloned person gets the age of the genetic code of the original person, BIG BOSS. he was 50 +- a few years, so the genetic code of the twin snakes are 50 years old. after a while, the age of the gentic code gets dominant and ages from now on faster then before and they die faster than a normal person.

its not fantasy, its biologie, its a real fact, thats why they cant (or dont want to) clone in reallife

big boss was cloned around his 37th year.. not 50.. 1972 when The Clones was created.. big boss died at the age of 79 (MGS4)

solid snake is 42 years old in MGS4..

@SoLiDuS11091993 **SPOILERS** But in Metal Gear, it wasn't because they cloned Big Boss at a later age, it was because the Patriots engineered their genes to accelerate their aging, so that when they finished their jobs of spreading FOXDIE and expanding the Patriots, a failsafe would be created if they found out that they were being used. The accelerated aging, of course, is only seen by Old Snake in MGS4. Thumbs up if this helps.

@storymaster23 **MORE SPOILERS**He was old-looking because the Patriots made his accelerated aging effect go much quicker and smoother so that he may become the President of the United States as George Sears. Being only 28 at the time of his election, one must be 35 years old to run for president. as such, they accelerated his aging faster so that their grand scheme would come into play. As for the eye, that happened during MGS2 by Solid Snake himself.

@purplesharpy The genetic code of the one who will be cloned (BIG BOSS) has the same biological "clock time" as the one himself (ca. 50), if the cloned person was born, his biological code says he is 50 because its the same bological number as the other cloned one, so he ages faster, that means he could possibly look like 30 even if he s 15, but snakes genetic code has been changed so he only ages when the genetic code tells him to, because the PATRIOTS dont want SOLID SNAKE to be cloned

It's said they made him age faster so that, were he to fall into the enemies hands, he would die of old age quickly and be of no use to anybody. It has nothing to do with "being born 50+ years and then suddenly the genes kick in". He was created with a short-term lifespan in mind. He was a weapon that could not fall into enemy hands.

This is no cybernetic arm, this is Liquid's real arm, he used it in order to fool the patriots into thinking he was taken over by Liquid, but when he did attach the arm to himself, he really did become possed by him. Past MGS2 he removes the arm and uses a cybernetic arm but is still under the persona "LIQUID" Ocelot, but now faking it.

If you ask me, I think that Ocelot suffered from a self-induced DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). Nanomachines and hypnosis caused the splitting into two personalities. One is the good old Revolver Ocelot and the other is Liquid. The transplanting of Liquid's arm on the one he lost to ninja was part of his idolising of Big Boss. Since Liquid is a clone, it was like putting a part of Big Boss onto himself. This caused the delusion that Liquid's personality came from the arm.

@Kougeru Many have commented that the idea of Liquid living in Ocelot's arm was absurd. But I study criminology and here is my view of things. According to MGS4, Ocelot used nanomachines and hypnosis to implant Liquid's personality over his own. To me, this looks like a self-induced Dissociative Identity Disorder, also called Multiple Personality Disorder. The concept of Liquid living in the arm sounds to me like a psychopathic delusion from the Liquid personality.
