  • i've been extremely privileged & lucky these past few years - i've seen Grace Potter and The Nocturnals six times, and met Grace after one of the shows. all of their shows are awesome - they are more of an event than a concert - an experience you won't soon forget. i've seen countless "big name" bands; none of them compare to GPN. and meeting Grace? she's a very charming, polite, funny and energetic young lady. i wish them all the best; i hope this tour with chesney doesn't change their sound!

  • This is the only cover of White Rabbit I've ever heard that is really good and captures the spirit of the original. Time to listen to Surrealistic Pillow again, real loud !

  • Her voice is sooooooo sexy omgggggggggggg.

  • Her voice is sooooooo sexy omgggggggggggg.

  • stew anybody?

  • let's get this out of the way so i don't come off sounding biased, yes I think Grace Potter is hot, that's besides the point, the point is i saw her and The Nocturnals play on Cee Lo Green's show today and they were amazing, like Heart before the 80s, they have the classic rock feel to them but still have elements of soul and pop and sound like their from this decade. that is all

  • She is so hypnotizing...

  • Call me crazy but God I am madly in love with Grace Potter :)

  • Like would be an understatement. Go Grace!

  • fucking sexy chick can sing

  • refreshing cover

  • amazing

  • awesome cover!!

  • Pretty good cover, once they finally got it going. I'm old, so I remember The Airplane.

  • What a classy and honorable cover. Very impressed. Also I have to second the notion that she is one sexy lady.

  • well she does a good grace slick and hearing her with govt mule sing gold dust women she can also do stevie nicks wow add grace potter and you have three women who any man could dream of

  • who creamed? I creamed

  • and i jizzed in my pants... lol

  • This is the best cover i have seen. Im a new fan of you guys. Wow

  • well holy shit this girl completely mastered that shit! I'm a fan now

  • Those of you who were able to hear Grace Slick sing this song, clse your eyes and listen. What Grace Potter just achieved is truly amazing. She actually sounds as good as Grace, if not better. What a tribute to the Airplane...

  • What an amazing live performance, also saliva bridge at 2:40

  • very lovely

  • @LoveMeetsDestruction another version of the song, yes.

  • Saw grace several years back at Skidmore college with about 50 other people. great to see her fantastic talent again

  • Grace Potter dropped acid at 12. She gets this song.

  • She just oozes sexuality. I love her version of this song.

  • lol this was in Sucker Punch(:

  • sooo awesome

  • I wish she would cover Greasy Heart <3_<3

  • Yeah the original is better in the eyes of some, but that's not the point. At 55 I'm just happy to see a new generation exposing their peers to classics like this. It's one thing for an old curmudgeon like me to try to get a bunch of 20-somethings and below to listen to rock classics with real talent behind them; it's another thing entirely for young people to hear them from one of their own. For the first time in a long time, I feel much better about the future of rock music in America.

  • @desertswo she is such an inspiration to me....and i love classic, truthful and highly emotional music.....the future is bright!!!

  • @desertswo So true..........

  • @desertswo the oldies are always the best and hey im only 22

  • Extenze!

  • Yeah!! Awesome!!!

  • 02:42 - sticky lips. . .hehe

  • Why am i just learning about these people...i'm in awe.

  • This Grace is slick

  • I love that Benny's just smoking a cigarette while playing on stage. I find it hilarious!

  • @NZerouki91 I have a feeling that its not a cigarette. Just sayin...

  • cool gpn #1 rocked it xoxo

  • i think i heard this song on a commercal for lost odissy a few years back

  • GRACE POTTER gets repeatedly humiliated by a rock superstar after landing a gig as the tour's opening act. Read more at The Worst Gig (WorstGig.com).

  • The pedestrian bass playing and drumming bring this version down. The lead guitarist is certainly facile enough (though the lines are a bit cliched). Ms. Potter's vocal won't cause Ms. Slick to lose any sleep, nor does the cover vocal add anything new to the song.

Certainly an adequate cover of a song that ought to be covered more, but nothing inspiring.

Try Gillian Welch's cover for a more interesting effort.

  • i thought they did a good job....

  • Um I don't like it the original bands always sing I better and if your a true Jefferson airplane fan you'd know the story behind this song and what Alice in wonderland means to grace some covers just dnt cut it

  • WHERES- the Hammond !???

  • Catherine Popper! Wooo!

  • i'm sorry but Grace Slick > Grace Potter

  • collides cover is alot better

  • The best "White Rabbit" cover there is....Oh and Grace Potter is hot!

  • They played at our blues festival(Fort Smith,Ark)a couple of years ago and they played this song---incredible live band..

  • @mrgb46 Know if they've been back to AR since? I NEED to see them live.

  • @lyricalkismet I believe they were here last year when they played The Rib Room, but that was the last time..Have you checked their website for tour dates??

  • @mrgb46 I've been looking on their website, but nothing coming up. Missed them at the Rev Room after missing a show in Memphis I had tickets to (due to illness). Was really just wondering how often they'd been here, I suppose. I'm assuming they'll be in the area again at some point. Thanks.

  • @lyricalkismet Where is it that you live? I hope you do see them pretty soon and hope you're not sick,too.. ;)

  • @mrgb46 Well, I was in Little Rock. In Fayetteville now... I hope so too! :)

  • @lyricalkismet That's not too far from here.I'm sure they will one day. When they come out with a new album,I'm sure they'll tour pretty close to here.I would like to see them again, too.I took some pics of them when they were at our blues festival, which turned out pretty good..Keep your fingers crossed and I hope you do see them.

  • @mrgb46 Well, i hope we both get a chance to see them if they're in the area again. Do you have your concert pics posted online anywhere?

  • @lyricalkismet I do,too.I would love to see them again..No,I don't have the pics online anywhere, but could put them on my Facebook page. Will let you know when I do,ok?

  • @mrgb46 That'd be awesome!

  • I like it-she does it justice

  • This is terrific.

  • Love Grace Slick .She says she is 2 old 2 sing now so that sucks. However,I saw her orig. band with a "replacement singer" a few summers ago on tour with Heros of Woodstock. She sounded just like Grace Slick. But I am grateful that other bands like Grace Potter and The Nocturnals are keepin it alive. What I learned on American Idol (lol) - if you do it exactly like the original it is like doin Karaoke. However, if u put ur spin on it u r making sumthyn interestn and different.

  • MIN 2.45, imagine ur dick in her mouth

  • probably too late for you, since you're busy with the Sailors' in yours - turd

  • Singer Grace Potter gets repeatedly humiliated by a rock superstar after landing a gig as the tour's opening act. Read more at The Worst Gig (WorstGig.com).

  • WHY? Why is Justin Bieber more famous than this?

  • @PulpFiction57 because he has the smallest dick in the world

  • A buddy told me to see this vid. I'm sorry but she don't hold a stick to Grace Slick with her vocals.

  • Nice try but no mystique whatsoever, Jefferson Airplane any day over this version! The only decent cover I have heard is emiliana torrini, and even then there's something missing that the original seems to capture.

  • @abanks917 I don't know, it seems to me that every version, even Grace Slicks', has something missing to it, though I couldn't say what.

  • @abanks917 You dont do a cover of a classic to try to duplicate the original but to pay tribute to it. Grace Potter is a soul/blues rocker who grew up on a farm in Vermont inspired to play B3 by Billy Preston and Dr John.. Grace Slick and Airplane was a California acid rock band. BIG difference ! Slick was often so wasted she could barely perform. Potter is an inspired perfectionist singer writer and musician. Few comparisons can be made except to Janice Joplin !

  • Такое впечатление, что вначале она поет на восточном мотиве, а потом плавно переходит на кричащий, но легкий рок

  • A corporate version of the original...must have been arranged in Omaha, NE.

  • awesome :D

  • ...KILLER voice, stage persona, energy, and MAD passion for what she's/they

re doing...amazing, IMO. I was lucky enough to come back from the restroom to the opening of this song at my GPN show on 7-7-11 in Indy. She/they played a four song encore and the whole time she's running around and dancing as if it were the opener!

  • as good if not better than the original--very very nice

  • @chabeworks Maybe because Grace P. blows Grace S. out of the water. And this band is probably better than the Airplane/Starship.

  • 2 COOL

  • not my favorite, but she does have a killer voice

  • Very good cover, but that's all it is. They started so far into the crescendo, they had no place to go. Grace and Co. are in no danger, but at least this lot really care.

  • Oh my fucking God. Awesome.

  • want the bass player

  • @terryofcork She's mine eversince dude :p

  • This should have been in 2010 movie instead of Avril Lavigne's squealing during the closing credits. Jussayin

  • @trmpthack AGREED!!!!!

  • aweeome guitarist always has a bigsby..

  • in ecstacy with this cover.

  • I don't like it. Leave the original to stay.

  • 1:06-1:07 priceless expression.......Simply reminds me of grace slick 69 woodstock version

  • I wish I was that mircrophone.

  • She reminds me of Stevie Nicks. I adore this woman!

  • @TheMattFillmore I thought the same thing.

  • Badass!

  • Seriously I can't believe I've never heard of this girl before!! She is phenomenal!! I found her because of her duet with Kenney Chesney.. and couldn't believe what stuff she worked on before.. total 180 from the song she did with him! I like both- but prefer her old stuff much more!

  • Back in '80-'81, I saw The Modettes in concert at The (then) recently-re-opened Peppermint Lounge here in Manhattan. They concluded their strong set with a spirited rendition of "White Rabbit."

  • I LOVE IT!!!!! GREAT JOB!!

  • Grace Slick was singing this before Tim Burton was born....

  • Her voice gives me chills, its soooooo good.

  • wow

  • GOD GRACY LOOKS SO GOOD #1

  • I always loved this song...Never knew the words, or who sang it...But I saw them on Talking To Strangers and HERE I AM!... GREAT SONG...GREAT BAND...

  • @racpembertondual...Cat Popper is easy on the eyeballs!

  • Perfection.

  • She is an amazing vocalist. Gives me chills...wish I had pipes like that. She's a bad ass.

  • WOW tha bass player is super hot babe!

  • @racpembertondual That's Catherine Popperon bass,formerly of the Cardinals w/ Ryan Adams.

  • racpembertondual=Ryan Adams Cardinals,Brad Pemberton(drummer)???

  • @drafan42

Oh, no, jaja, just a strange nickname.

  • @racpembertondual Very coincedental!Thought you may be Brad...I miss the Cardinals!Anyway, this is a cool video!

  • @drafan42

    Thanks, I´m looking fot the

    Cardinals now!

  • @racpembertondual Look under Ryan Adams & the Cardinals

  • @drafan42 for what? I don't see that they did a version of this song. and they really don't seem to be that great.

  • @Deltaxray7 No,they didn't do a version of this song but they are great. You sure must not have ANY musical taste or any taste at all,for that matter!!!!

  • @drafan42 youtube.com/watch?v=F6RDTF3TFWE

there isn't ANYTHING great about this at all. In fact it plain ol sucks.

  • @Deltaxray7 The bass player in this band,Catherine Popper, was in the Cardinals & she is great as they were great when they played together.BTW,Ryan Adams has more talent in his pinky than 80% of the artists out there!!

  • really good but must say prefer jefferson airplane over all.

  • Nothing like a real honest-to-goodness rock band. Absolutely killer.

  • Just saw Grace open for Ben Harper last night in T.O. She ROCKED!!! I grew up on the Airplane's version, and while no one can outdo Slick, this is by far the closest! An outstanding talent which would have been worth the price of admission alone.

  • GPN #1 AMAZING GRACE ROCKED IT :)

  • I had the oppurtunity to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals here in my hometown of Sioux City at SATURDAY IN THE PARK on July 3rd,2011! They put on one helluva show! Very impressive!

  • I love this band!!

  • This lady is simply amazing!

  • This is a great cover, even though I really still love the original, but her voice is right for the song. She is amazing!

  • Almost- but not quite

  • Actually, I have gotten a high five from Grace Potter, I was front and center for two shows at Paradise in 2006 (one with Mike Gordon) which was before her "polished" "class-act" look and she HAD the cojones there but here she just doesn't have Grace Slick's who puts her to shame. They used to call Grace Slick "ice" to Janis' "fire" and it is like comparing a true diamond to zirconium. Just saying. P

"Nothing But the Water" Texas Swamp- yes

White Rabbit- nice try (really) but dream on

  • wow, fucking great cover, I really wasn't expecting to hear anything good because all the covers I have heard today really suck balls but this is some really good shit!!

  • Sort of mediocre a tad too self conscious she does break through in some places plus the bass player is VERY far from where Jack Casady was whose beat ruled that song. Plus Jorma's intro is way spacier. I agree with joejames she's better covering the Texas swamp stick to what you know Grace, still a reasonable effort, pure nostalgia I would guess. She doesn't have the cojones Grace S. does, doesn't sing it with a vengeance to slay, a bit too "feel-good" a version. Sorry, my 2¢

  • @painterphilippe Go see Grace Potter live......no cojones. Pfffffffffffffffffft

  • @sarmcl

  • @painterphilippe What is with this whole hating on Grace because shes "polished" now? Who gives a crap. Is her music great? Yes. Is the band great? Yes. Just sit back and enjoy it.

  • @sarmcl

I will do my best, sarmcl, she is a fine musician, no bad for sharpening her image, all in the game, but WR is a sacred bit of music for me, it was performed by a high priestess, and this seems a little the imposter (or wanna-be).

Wishing you well, all the best.

  • @painterphilippe Of course its not as good as the Airplane's, but its by far the closest anyone can get.

  • Scotty Tournet on that lead guitar is too much to handle!!!!!!!!!

  • Grace slick was way better . But decent cover . Kudos for not letting classics die

  • Grace Potter is Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane reborn...

  • I can't get enough of this song! Love it!

  • Damn she reminds me of stevie nicks.

  • @MrTewl8te Except for the fact that Grace Potter can sing.

  • Love It *

  • One look at Grace Potter makes me larger...

  • Super!!!!

Do they do a cover of Pretty as You Feel?

  • It's just nice when a band gets it.

  • I LIKE THIS VERS BETTER THAN THE # 1ST

  • Fuck, this was amazing lol. Totally just smacked every female singer band out there... Especially paramore lol

  • She is powerful. Just not in the same place as Grace S. reached, which is best female rock voice ever. Should I say I heard her and the Airplane in a coffee house on Boylston St in 67 . I still love this Grace too!

  • This is exactly what we need in this day of age...

  • <3 you grace as potter as slick...u both are awesome phenomenon

  • With all due respect to to Grace Slick for writing this song, I think Grace Potter and her band perform it SO much better. This cover of it is just awesome.

  • A little too precise, the song should be weaving a spell - and not enough reverb - but Grace does have the voice to keep up with Grace Slick's warbles and held notes - Potter should try Somebody to Love next

  • The re-incarnation of Jefferson Airplane.

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone have anything I can take to get rid of these damn goose bumps!?!? ....SICK

  • i was in the audience at this show. absolutely phenomenal! gracie and the band are an aweome live show!!

  • Takes cajones to take this song on. Kudos to Grace Potter & band. Doesn't top the original Grace & Airplane but best version to date.

  • Great rendition; from Grace to Grace, i guess. Slick would be proud!

  • @drhonouriscausa

    I know the feeling!

  • I think I love you Grace Potter!

  • Great musicians, great concept, and the girl´s a great singer , very talented, but the color of her voice is not groundbreaking, i mean is not a type of voice that´s difficult to find. Not trying to offend anybody

  • @Rejito I see what you mean, but she still rocks in my book...

  • I love this women.

  • I love Catherin Popper and her bass playing.
