He was referring to the Bible as a source that all men, unborn, born, black, white, hispanic, american, despite their ethnicity or place in life, are created equal and in the image of God. And he was saying the constitution needed an amendment that secured that every human life was of equal value and should be protected, because it has value to God no matter what we think.
The constitution wasn't based on the Bible. The bible doesn't deal with politics nor government. It tells a story about how God tries to interact with man. The constitution talks about how man and man interact. Big difference.

You made a mistake. The Bible talks about government alot. Roms.13 tells the church not to fight the government, because the govt. protects the people. 1 Peter states the same thing, and Jesus himself told the disciples "Don't fight the govt. because my kingdom isn't of this world."

So gay people can get married too, right? Gay people have value in God's Eyes no matter what "we" think. They want the same things everybody else does. They don't want to be treated as second class citizens in a world where all are created equal.

Huckabee doesn't think that homosexual people should be discriminated against for having affection for other people of the same sex, yet that does not entitle them to marriage because marriage has always been an institution for a man and a woman. "Gay" people as you call them should not be persecuted or treated differently because of their lifestyle, but that doesn't entitle them to marriage. All people, regardless of what they do, have value in God's eyes.

Firstly, the bible in the old testament went even farther than the COMMANDMENT "Thou shalt not kill". The original texts actually specified "Thou shalt not kill thy fellow jew". So no, in no way was hitler following the bible, please state facts. Secondly, I have no problem helping out my fellow man when he needs help, and I very much support foodstamps for those who actually need it. It's a vote to get delegates for the GOP convention, not the general election. IIRC, stopping the count at that level requires going to the Supreme Court, but only if it's stacked with 'friendlies'.

Hey I don't want to argue with you and all that but please take that statement about the constitution into its context. He was referring to the Bible as a source that all men, unborn, born, black, white, hispanic, american, despite their ethnicity or place in life, are created equal and in the image of God. And he was saying the constitution needed an amendment that secured that every human life was of equal value and should be protected, because it has value to God no matter what we think.

The constitution wasn't based on the Bible. The bible doesn't deal with politics nor government. It tells a story about how God tries to interact with man. The constitution talks about how man and man interact. Big difference.

You made a mistake. The Bible talks about government alot. Roms.13 tells the church not to fight the government, because the govt. protects the people. 1 Peter states the same thing, and Jesus himself told the disciples "Don't fight the govt. because my kingdom isn't of this world."
Ron Paul notes that the constitutional rights are founded from God given rights, not man given rights. The argument of the founding fathers is if God gave you freedom, man has no right to take freedom.

So gay people can get married too, right? Gay people have value in God's Eyes no matter what "we" think. They want the same things everybody else does. They don't want to be treated as second class citizens in a world where all are created equal.

Very good question. Huckabee doesn't think that homosexual people should be discriminated against for having affection for other people of the same sex, yet that does not entitle them to marriage because marriage has always been an institution for a man and a woman. "Gay" people as you call them should not be persecuted or treated differently because of their lifestyle, but that doesn't entitle them to marriage. All people, regardless of what they do, have value in God's eyes.

Well it's more than just me that refer to gay people as such. :-/ Not being treated differently means NOT being treated differently. NO EXCEPTIONS. Marraige was also only meant for people of the same race at one time. Marraige is a civil contract 1st & foremost. God's thoughts on it are immaterial. You don't see there being any prohibitions against atheists & agnostics marrying, do you? If a church doesn't want gay marraige, that's its business. But our government shouldn't be discriminatory

Actually, the intermarital relations argument won't get you know where. Though racism in America forbid such happenings, that isn't a historical theme in the rest of the world or in the Bible. David married outside of his line. Rahab was a foreign woman who married into Israel. King Solomon married a Shulamite and God blessed that marriage. The Bible is full of God blessed interacial marriages. You can't redefine marriage to please you, it stays what God designed it to be.

That's where you are wrong. I repeat, marraige is a civil contract. It was created to confer property rights to partners. We have a SEPARATION OF CHURCH & STATE. It doesn't matter what the Bible has to say (or not say) on the subject. I'm not looking for YOU to redefine anything, especially since you get tripped up over redefining the word "gay." Gay people marrying has nothing to do with you, but everything to do with gay people having stable relationships and being treated as EQUAL CITIZENS.

And you seem to be under the misconception that marraige has been exclusively between the sexes.
