  • Wow you guys like arguing over goofy irrelevant stuff. Whatever points you are trying to make are lost.

The only point that you all clearly make is that you are all buzz killers.

    Al...save me from these people..lol

  • Al Green the legendary. I really look up to this man, I read his biography over the internet. I loved how he changed his music style because of his faith in G_d, that was a very praise worthy action. A woman that loved him killed herself for him and ever since, he has been singing in the Name. I know people often come here to compare or downplay him because this is not his song but I believe that is mostly because of the social insecurities we might have as people, be it racism or another thing.

  • If I disliked a performer, I would just not watch his/her videos. I wouldn't clutter up the comments section with a lot of hateful, disparaging words. If I didn't like their performances, I'd just go watch the ones I do like, and leave it at that!!!

  • @isleytoatlantis The Bee Gees were having hits way before Al Green was, by 1967 the Bee Gees were worldwide superstars, the first Al Green hit was about 1971, make sure you keep your appointment with the gerontologist you clearly need all the help you can get.

  • @isleytoatlantis Well she put you in your place how you can even begin to compare the virtually one hit wonder Al Green with the Bee Gees is beyond me, give us the facts how many number one singles did Al Green have? how many songs did he write for other people? how many massive selling albums did he write and produce for other artists? has he had a hit in every decade? did he have 5 of the top selling singles in the Billbapoard Chart? It is you that is the idiot here not her!

  • @isleytoatlantis I knew when you started a sentence with"But" that the education system had failed you, and your pathetic attempt to traduce my comments has made you look very foolish! Shall we start with the facts? the Bee Gees are the 2nd most prolific songwriters in history and the 5th biggest selling act of all time! They had had massive success all over the world at the age of just 17! Barry Gibb is the most successful songwriter/producer of all time. You vacuous simpleton!

  • The Bee Gees make Al "wife beater" Green look like a novice, all he had was a couple of hits in the 70s then the parasite had to rely on others peoples songwriting ability, as is the case here, the incredible brothers Gibb!

  • @GeorgiiiiRaWK ...trying to compare The bee Gees to Al Green? HA HA HA HA.......your a funny chap.

  • Does anyone know if the entire concert of this Apollo appearance is on tape or DVD? I'd love to have a copy if it is.

  • woow what a marvellous performance!

  • bee gees sucked overrated never been a fan

  • Rip the audio from this track at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • @VennMoMo People have the right to voice their opinion, anywhere they want to, so go and clean your simple ears out with a gun, you parochial fool!

  • Comment removed

  • Al Green=average singer, average musical ability, nowhere near as good as Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, or Otis Redding, the last songs I remember him by were in the early 70s, apart from this song, he has done nothing too special for yonks.

  • @yjuana I am quoting facts! the Bee Gees held the number one spot in billboard top 100 for 27 weeks, with songs they had written and produced! they had six songs from one to six in the top 100! six number one singles in a row, written and produced by them, only the Beatles can match that! Rolling Stone magazine gave you writers opinions, nothing more than that! a few old hippies stoned round the table playing god! Look at the views this song attracts, far more than his own work! Go figure!

  • @TENRECORDS I agree with you the Bee Gees are the gods of music, they have written some of the most amazing songs I have ever heard, to be reduced to being personal and rude about the surviving brothers just shows you that yjuana had lost the debate.Typical of someone that lacks education to resort to playground insults, ignore him...he is a contentius simpleton.

  • @yjuana Look at the facts! check out what people actually paid money for! not this below average apology of a soul singer, who last had a hit in the very early 70s, keep backing your loser, imbecile!

  • @yjuana Try the whole world, the Bee Gees have massive fan base all over the world, try not to be so parochial, you mendacious fart blocker.

  • @yjuana Lol peace.

  • @yjuana Hey village idiot, if you actually read the comments on these forums, most of them are on about this beautiful song, Al Green is virtually incidental.

  • @yjuana You still found it necessary to be rude about the Bee Gees, and as others have pointed out that shows a very low intellect, are you an ass driller? you seem a little effeminate.

  • That's because I'm your mother!

  • @yjuana No, my mother wears a dress like you do, but that is where the similarity ends, she was always pleasant and intelligent, and clean too, you ont eh other hand are dirty and unkempt and not too adroit.

  • @TENRECORDS Lmao are you suggesting that yjuana was a poo pusher? I think he is lol

  • @yjuana Brother, the mere fact that you made a personal attack on the two remaining Bee Gees is indicative of the person you are, to have to resort to this behaviour shows a lack of intelligence. That negates any opinion you may have, so your comments become puerile drivel, however.."I'm good with that"

  • @TENRECORDS Thank you Moses for delivering those commandments with such force and conviction!

BTW- I bet your 10 records are for contributing to the delinquency of a Chilean Miner.

  • @yjuana Wow how very droll! I think you missed the point here, it has been pointed out to you that the Bee Gees have written and recorded songs from every genre, and with huge success too. Could Al Green sing country? or rock? I doubt it, he is a fine singer, but Barry and Robin Gibb are exceptional singers, try not to be too parochial and petulant when the facts are prsented to you.

  • Have you seen the Bee Gees lately? One looks like a giant Chinchilla and the other continues to look like death warmed over. Collectively, The Brothers Gibb made some wonderful music- but if you're just talking about singing, Al Green is miles ahead. I think they would agree.

  • @yjuana They threw more songs away than Al ever wrote, he is just a musical parasite, and this song revived his long forgotten career, the Bee Gees are the 2nd most successful songwriters in history! When was the last time Al was in the charts with one of his songs? back to the 70s, he is just a vehicle for songwriters like the brothers Gibb, nothing more, do not delude yourself!

  • @yjuana A better singer? what planet are you from? I listened to a 2 hour documentary about the Bee Gees last night, and all the studio technicians, producers were in complete raptures over the Bee Gees vocal harmony! Even George Martin who produced the Beatles raves about their vocal ability, they have sung every genre, soul, country, pop, rock, dance, reggae too. I can understand you saying youprefer Al Green as a vocalist, but to announce that he is a better singer makes you look foolish.

  • @MrZoology This Bee Gees song revived Al Greens flagging career, he sings the song, but his overcooked vocals spoil the beauty of the song, too much vocal swagger, complete overkill!

  • AL Green's music just deep touch you

  • show de bola

  • My God I want to see him in a live show

  • AL WENT TO CHURCH ON 'EM BABY, AND YOU BETTER KNOW IT! IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN. BLACK MAN WITH A WHOLE LOTTA SOUL! HE KILLIN 'EM! OWWWW!

  • @vikkisecret84 The Bee Gees are so awesome Al Never stood a chance, if it had not been for this song A.l would have been long forgotten.

  • @TENRECORDS He had way more songs than this whats your point ?

  • @uubnex4 Yes he did, but this particular song has been in two films, and virtually revived his career, that is my point.

  • @thacomebackidd You are just a simple ass driller!

  • BLAZEZ!!!!!!!!

  • AL GREEN couldn't spit-shine the BEE GEES platform shoes. the BEE GEES own this song and nobody can match them.

  • @410missmonkeyful I agree with you, Al Green looks like a cruise ship singer next to the Bee Gees, their vocals are beyond parity, everysong Al sings sounds the same to me.

  • @410missmonkeyful The Bee Gees had enjoyed more success by the time they were 18, sold more records, written more songs, than Al Green had in his entire career.

  • WTF

  • Great performance! Serious heart & soul in his singing. Credit deserved long overdue. Bravo!

  • Dang Al singing the hell outta this song! His curl is dripping everywhere!!! He puts his heart in this song!

  • how do you break somebody's heart if you are JUST FRIENDS? IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM LIKE THAT?

  • ... turn the horns up a little bit, baby....

  • Love seeing Al Green singing this live. He still had it (1990) after many career years.

Saw Book of Eli last night and the use of this song in one of the scenes was excellent.

  • He's like a healing preacher :) But he's good :)

  • I'm not at all a Bee Gee's hater ..they're legends. But if you went to go see Al Green and the Bee Gee's at the same show you'd walk away talking about Al Green

  • this version kills the Bee Gees one. He has character and the Bee Gees sound like they've been labotomised! Their songs never seem to me to have any dynamics. This version has real feeling real highs and lows really nice little hooks and the Bee Gees original sounds like they're bored. In my opinion, of course.

  • Al Green is the best thing to ever happen to this song.

  • I love this song it reminds me of my first boyfriend he was leaving and he dedicated this song to me and I really felt bad but I learned that time can heel all wounds you have to hang on in there and if you can't call me and I'll be there

  • I love Al Green. Thanks for posting this.

  • Al Green is one of the last great soul singers. Al seemed to feel all of energy and love from the audience. This is classic Al Green. He sounds truly inspired.

  • Muito muito ótimo 5* show amo esta música.

  • He can do no wrong with me....a soul genius. Has stood the test of time..went away...came back..and then he combined his r&b tunes with his gospel and took his shows and music to another level. You cant do that, if u're lacking in REAL talent. He and Bobby Womack, are the last of their kind. God Bless 'em both. IF u're stil relevant in the UK and Europe, you know your stuff...

  • yea! been lookin for this!

  • I love al Green................

  • will you please keep it on for a long time this is just one of my favorite performances by AL Green

  • thanks for bringing this back

  • Great video! Al Green sure made this song his own. Do you have this whole apollo 1990 concert on dvd?
