  • awsome setup man i only got about just over 600watts of solar and 9 cheap daul purpose batteries and it runs what i need decent enough but i would love to get a wind mill and maybe get off my butt and put my batteries in vented box or atleast get them out of my house. but i ran into a dead end with money and haven't upgraded anything really lately. again nice setup and really organized. i'll get mine organized like that maybe around income tax season lol

  • Cool video it looks like all you need is more battery capacity. you have a ton of charging ability seems like you would want to utilize it. That part drove me nuts when my bank was charged I wanted to use the extra power thats wy I went to off grid / grid tie hybrid. Check out my videos and let me know what you think. CHEERS WINDY NC.

  • Thanks for the comments, I do utilize a dump load option on my charger/regulator that supplies 12VDC to an electrical heating pad that is located on the underside of my oil/hot water furnace in my home. This seems to work very well, I have noticed a reduction in our oil bill.

    As for the battery capacity, it's great during the summer months, but during the winter, it's actual too much capacity for the amount of total sun light available.

    The Air X & Air Breeze have integrated on board electronics that monitor the battery voltage. They are factor set at 13.5 vdc but you can adjust the voltage for your own needs. When the voltage reaches the preset, the turbine applies a reverse voltage on the stator windings of the motor, acting like a break, thus stopping the turbine from producing electricity.

  • Hey michal970, thanks for the comments. I'm glad to see that your using plywood to mount your gear. You can never be too safe when working with electrical equipment. I don't care if it is low voltage, it can still cause problems if not handled properly.

  • No, the wind turbines are a direct "hook up" to the 12 vdc batteries. This was one of the reasons that I prefer the Air X and Air Breeze turbines. They have a built in charger/regulator in them and their some what compact.

  • Hi michael970, I'm interested in knowing if you find any issues with your grid tie inverter. I'm concerned of any possible damage to sensitive electronics with a tie-in my electrical system?

    I've seen that kind that you have in your video, on eBay but I'm skeptical because they don't have a UL listing.

  • Hey very nice setup I just started last year also.I only have 215w solar and  a home made 1000w wind turbine 4 .115ah marine batteries.I just picked up a 250w grid tie inverter that seems to work great..check out my videos if you get time maybe you can let me know what I can do to improve my system
