  • forgive me for being a moron, but what instrument is that? It kinda reminds me of a sitar, but i can't figure it out :D Really good job though

  • The Chapman Stick. You can find many more experienced players of it on Youtube. Just enter its name into the search bars. It's a very enjoyable instrument to learn to play.

  • Man I'd love to get my hands on one of those. The first time I ever seen one was down at the Santa Monica Promenade in California, a guy was sitting there playing one and making it sound so good, just like this. Thank you for sharing this and the good words on my cover of "Streets of Laredo" - hope the class goes well! I'll be subscribing to your channel along with an invite. Mark

  • PS! Just realized I'm already sub'd to you and friends as well. I'll be definitely checking out more of your vids now. Mark

  • Yes, we are subscribed to each other. Cheers!

  • It's a class called "Singing the American Folk Song" and we're just beginning the ballad section of it, so the song fits perfectly. Cheers!

  • I think isn't so easy to play that C-Stick, but I heard a V Good sound by you. Bravo master Bill

  • Thanks for the encouraging comment.

  • That right hand is looking awfully good, Bill. Super pickin'. The bends sound good too!

  • Thanks for the encouragement, friend.

  • What a strange yet wonderful instrument!

  • @geoff1945 It's strangeness quickly disappears, but its wonderfulness remains. It's a great pleasure to work on.

  • This instrument really suits you and shows your melodic ear off, nice. Hope you a vid on the challenges of learning and playing this instrument. Thanks

  • Wow, I like the sound. Sounds kind of Bluesy ...Very good playing! 5*s

    Lindsey

  • @BluegrassForte Yes, this instrument lends itself quickly to blues and jazz. That being said, you might enjoy some of the classical pieces of players like Bob Culbertson and others.
