  • thanks! it worked!

  • did not work on my mac, do i have to buy a pair of memory ram or what do you think

  • :( Did'nt work for me

  • @boogiebuddy01 No, as I do not have one. Getting to the RAM is usually a very, very simple procedure for laptops. You may want to hunt for it yourself on that model.

  • i dont have a mini screwdriver fackkkkkk!!! -___- now i needa go buy one. i swear i have everything but that size

  • @smydugan Good luck! I hope this simple solution solves your particular problem. :)

  • my powerbook G4 looks different the battery is in the corner...

  • I want to buy one of these, and it has the same problem (I'm guessing) and I just want to be sure that this works. I see people in the comments below saying it worked for them, but in your case I don't see the comp. turn on.

  • @Alienated29 You can hear it at the end, it turned on.

  • @Alienated29 You hear the chime

  • I didn't see yours turn on :P

  • @Alienated29 It turned on, you saw me worry for a second before I heard the chime. It booted fine after the chime.

  • @Alienated29 You hear the chime

  • probably you need new ram its weird!

  • worked but i wish i wouldve seen this before i saw the "take your powerbook apart" vid.

  • That ain't wht mines looks like

  • You are the best. seriously. Smarter than those fools at the genius bar! It worked perfectly. I am using it right now! Yay. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • @annanimal6 You're welcome :) Really glad this helped you!

  • @epheterson haha unfortunately, since that time, the trick no longer worked and i was forced to buy a new computer. sigh :(

  • @annanimal6 You're welcome :)

  • This video was only 1:40 minutes long, so i knew it was professional :D

  • Great video but can anyone help me? My powerbook went to sleep and wont turn on, when I plug in the adapter no light comes on at all. There is a white light on at the bottom where the lid popper thing is. i dont know what to do.

  • Thanks fam it worked for me now my wife can shut up..lol

  • Did you try resetting the PMU first?

    support.apple.com/kb/HT1431

  • @botvis I tried everything. This was a last-ditch effort.

  • What if I only have one memory slot?

  • @designschema I couldn't even explain why this works. It shouldn't using my in-depth understanding of computer hardware. That being said, try taking out your single stick of memory, gently running the gold contacts between your fingers to remove any dust or whathaveyou, and put it back in.

  • @designschema If you were saying you only have one STICK of memory and this computer (two slots), I'd switch the slot which the memory was in as well.

  • My 12" powerbook would turn on, but the screen was totally dark. This guy's trick worked like a charm! Thanks! Total success!

  • @MrJcrawfo4 You're welcome!

  • wow pretty stupid if u ask me

  • @TheFord17 I agree.

  • wow... this actually worked. Any idea WHY it works?

  • @crgreenwell Not really. Maybe it forces the computer to re-check some settings due to RAM parameters being modified? Maybe the contacts just need regular cleaning? Maybe there is something loose and this wiggles in place? I can't know for sure.

  • before this did the mac just keep booting up and then shut back down?

  • @jimmywiswell It's been a while, I think it just wouldn't boot up. I don't believe it was a reboot loop, if that's your question.
