i didnt even get mine fix until like 2 months later

  • YEAH! with that check engine light ON!

i didnt even get mine fix until like 2 months later

  • check my 2.0 variable timing n variable lift engine

  • I was wondering how u keep ur car in lift after each shift? I have a 2003 matrix xrs and it is impossible to keep it in lift after each shift, always drops just below 6k rpms. I know this is a problem with the matrix xrs, do you have something done to it to keep it in lift?

  • @sandtthomas1

    Power FC

    or

    Hydra EMS

    or

    the AEM that MWR has

    or the cheapest

Home made Lift Controller found in 9thgencorolla (dot) com

  • @TheCorollaXRS Dose the Home made Lift works good? My buddy say it will work but wont add any power. i just dont get it.

  • @PinkDsLiteModel001

Your friend is right. You can't just adjust LIFT anywhere you like. This can also be dangerous because you might end up having bad AFR ratio or etc and you can break your engine. You also need to tune AFR, VVT etc when you lower LIFT..

  • I have an 05 XRS with an aftermarket cold air intake.. Can my car do this? xD

  • haha i love how mad people hate on this car, I dont care what anyones says, this car is decently fast,it aint no supercar but this 4 cylinder toyota would shit on alot of people and hes got alot of videos to prove it, u got my respect man, where u from? I would love to run my 02 auto max with it, i bet it would be close.Whats it run in the 1/4 mile? looks like a 14 sec car for sure

  • i own a honda and a toyota lol there both nice haha

  • cm guys! stop fighting ! "no my honda k20 is better!" "never my corolla 2zz came first!" God!... both cars are great! 2zz and k20 are +- = ... the only thing is that the corolla weight less... and thats why it smoke Si's all day... but stock vs stock the Si can take the Xrs ... until the Xrs atleast get an intake! cmon! lets respect each other! why honda fan boys and toyota kids cant be friends?

    PD: i got 6 cousins...1 of them with a Rsx-s,2 with Si 07,and 3 of them with a corolla Xrs 05-06! xD

  • remember the good old days when a single over head cam with an intake and exhaust was the shit.

  • @muaMoney fer sure hahah

  • I 'm having trouble finding your parent's page, "TheCamryLE." I also can't seem to find your sister's page either, the one that moved away to college. I type in "TheYarisS" and nothing comes up. I did however find "TheToyotaEcho" ba ha ha

  • that was more like 105 fyi.

    just sayin :D

  • should i buy a Xrs 05-06 or a acura rsx-s ? :S help plz thx

  • the lotus elise and exige use the same 2zz.. only different tunes and tweaks. 2zz engines are beasts when it comes to potentials.

  • @kuago

And most users of these vehicle who crave more power and want to modify their vehicle dump these engines in favor of Honda's K series engine lineup.

  • @kidnkorner you're comparing a 2.0 to a 1.8... those are not of the same criteria. and i would've dropped in a supra engine instead of a K series.

  • @kuago

And you are touting the superiority of Toyota and the 2ZZ engine like all Corolla fan boys do. I'll take a LS series engine from GM before I start swinging from the nuts of a 2JZ Supra engine. FYi, when the Supra competed in road racing they yanked the 2JZ in favor a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine.

  • @kidnkorner just a question, if you like the k series so bad then why the hell are you watching a 2zz vid? intimidated? im not even gonna argue with a guy who's only modification done to his car is an aftermarket horn. im done wasting my time on you. NUFF SAID.

  • @kuago

LoL, as if the content of my YouTube library is indicative of my personal tastes or what I drive. I don't even own that vehicle anymore. It's quite clear youre Toyota fanboy and swing from the nuts of the 2ZZ. Be sure you slap a decal that says "Powered by Yamaha" on all your 2ZZ powered vehicles. And as far as watching a 2ZZ vid, YouTube posts recommendations on the splash page based on your viewing history, captain cool guy. I get a good laugh when I sift thru the comments of these.

  • @kidnkorner just like what you said "viewing history"... so you saying at one point in your visit at youtube you've been watching 2zz vids? and when you saw one you just gotta learn more so that you wont lose to a 2zz? wow! intimidated much? the feeling's mutual.. i just laugh everytime you babble nonsense... ROFLMAO! every car company gets their ideas from one another.. so are you seriously saying that hondas dont get ideas from others? well, excuse you mr. know-it-all... hahaha!

  • If you ever sell any of your XRS parts let me know. All performance parts. Also fuck hondas.

  • that is one ferocious little corolla!

  • hey men was up i have corolla s and i see on ebay they have ship for 20 dollars and sed tha car with tha ship is goin to have 75 hp i dont now if is tru if u now somthin about this send me email tru youtube

  • @jowychiky

    It's a scam.. don't buy.

Not even a TRD supercharger can give you that additional 75 hp you are talking about.

  • I love how TheCorollaXRS bombs on every hater on youtube.

  • wtf do you got in that thing man?

  • Theres the dreaded CHECK ENGINE light... i have mine but with only INJEN INTAKE and my check engine light was turning on.... I dont know what is it with these INTAKES....help?

  • go to 9thgencorolla(dot) com

  • i couldnt help but notice the cl coming on, my matrix will do that under full throttle its an xrs 05, sometimes it clears other times it dosent do know whay your comes on?

  • the 05-06 xrs sounds bad ass the v v t l- lift is sweet i perfer it way over the civic si

    k20a

  • Damn that's not bad at all, Do the S models have the same Drive train? I might get one of these next lol

  • the Corolla type S is VVTi the Corolla XRS is VVTL-i

  • wats COROLLA TYPE S, does it have v-tec?k20?

  • FUCK V-TEC AND FUCK K20s.. no Corolla Type S is VVT-i and the Corolla XRS is VVTL-i dumb ass. ohh and Corolla Type S is 5 speed XRS are 6 speed. =P

  • try read your earlier comment, you said Corolla Type S, your dumb ass, i know whats corolla xrs coz i own one

  • ders no such car,COROLLA TYPE S, lol, just COROLLA S, das it, no TYPE S, TYPE S is only for ACURAS

  • lol fuck V-TEC? someone is butthurt? lose to a civic last night? Try that shit against my S2000 with 4,77 gears I/H/E and retune. You'd be a couple days behind me

  • LOL o my god thats funny i started laughing soo fukkin hard lmfao

  • NIgga fuck you k20 all day it will smoke this shit

  • hahaha k20...

    Honda Fan Boys are duches...

    2ZZ > K20

    Sorry guys.

  • Well im saying k20 bcuz its fair New Si vs new XRS Now over the years,Corolla has nver beatin a civic si hmm d16y8 VTEC,b16 VTEC, b18 VTEC, So jus face it lol Corollas are SLOW

  • what about New Si vs the older XRS?

    LOL.

Heard about the old corollas with a chassis code called AE86?

Heard bout their 4a-ge engine? they were used in formula Atlantic ... FA edition revs over 11500 rpm producing over 240hp out from 1.6 L engine. This is using 1 cam profile. No VTEC or LIFT but still able to make that kind of power.

    Yeah corollas are slow

  • Wait but ,Are we talking about street cars or are we talking about formula cars ? I think we are talking about Street cars arnt we ?

So lets continue...If you tune a Stock si THE RIGHT WAY LETS SAY A K20 it can make up 240stock Hmm now can you do that to a corolla i dont think so Why ? bcuz their not for racing

  • You were giving me bunch of HONDA engines.. Now I gave you an engine from a very old Corolla called 4a-ge. A k20 is 2.0 Liter. A 4a-ge is 1.6 L.

A Corolla AE86 is a street car btw. But because it's engine can do so much more they were using it in Formula cars.

BTW, did you know that your k20 is a copy of 2zz?

  • Hey man , the apex PFC runs me down a whooping $1500???? someone once was going ot sell me a computer for my car an APEX for $150 i mean theres something wrong here maybe i was missing some other things and he was going to rip me off? please help... my XRS needs it!! and your videos are my inspiration that XRS can hit hard!!!

  • everything you say about the 4age its true, and i love that car, but i am an honda guy but respect each brand by their diferent technology, but a k20 is not a copy of the 2zz engine they are alike but not the same.

  • AGREED!

alot of people dont know this but Honda only copies Toyota. In addition, Toyota came up with Lift and later on, Honda came up with Vtec, but not many people knows.

  • @TheCorollaXRS

BTW, did you know the 2ZZ is actually design mostly by Yamaha? Did you also know that if Honda chose to renew their patent on their VTEC system that Yamaha and Toyota would not have been able to produce this engine under it's current architecture?

  • @TheCorollaXRS

k20 came first. the wiki page says the 2zz-ge was the first one to bring variable valve timing and 2 cam profiles to the US market, but it wasn't. It was out after the rsx, which also has both. Also the k-series engine was out first and did not copy anything from toyota. Besides, toyota let yamaha build that engine anyhow.

  • @w00t692

So tell me which came out first? the RSX-S or the 7th gen Celica GT-S?

  • @TheCorollaXRS

The celica. but if you think the k20 is a copy of the 2zz-ge, you are delusional...

  • @w00t692

    Clear me up

I know that Toyota have used VVT (cam phasing) and can be found on their old engines such as in their 4a-ge, no LIFT yet some versions made 100 hp per liter

On the other hand, Honda was using cam LIFT (2 sets of cam profile intake only) with no VVT (cam phasing). Using this, they made beast little engines.

AFAIS, Toyota is the first to combine these 2 technologies, LIFT at both Intake and Exhaust and cam phasing or VVT on the intake side

Please, tell me if I'm right.

  • @TheCorollaXRS

Yes, they had the first US market with something like you describe, but this doesn't mean the k20 is a copy my friend. Also the k20's design for dual profiles with vvt is a much more reliable design than toyotas. You don't see hondas snapping lift bolts all over the place. Either way, both engines are awesome, toyota did do it a little bigger trying to make the 1.8L and here comes Honda with a 2.0L lol.

  • @w00t692

About the Lift Bolt.. it was only a problem with the first batch that were made on 1999

About the design? Toyota did it with 1 rocker while Honda has to do it with 2 rockers. What do you think about that? More moving parts with Honda?

And think about this, there is only ONE version of 2zz-ge unlike the K20 that has so many variants like the weak k20A3 and from the the best K20??.

Some Toyota engine has variants, ex: the 1.6L 4a-ge, there was the blacktop, silvertop, redtop...etc.

  • @w00t692

BTW, Toyota owns some of Yamaha.

In my book, the Honda with the k20 ruled until Toyota released the 1LR-GUE. How could Honda even make an engine like that.

  • ummm, theres no way that a civic si would do 240 whp with stick internas. That's just stupid. Then I can say a corolla xrs can make 220 whp with stock internals, stupid 2. Get your faqs straight, your si has 20 more horpower but it will never outrun a corolla xrs or even a celica gts.

  • @tonguixrs

You are sadly mistaken about the tunability of the K series line of engines. If you mean stock internals to include the cams, the you might be right, but the K20 in the 8th gen civic can come very close to 240 WHP with all the exterior bolt on goodies and dyno tune. The vehicle you are comparing the Si to have about 200-250 weight advantage over the Civic Si and that matters a lot!

  • @TheCorollaXRS If you honestly know 5 people with a silvertop in America, I'll give you a basket of cookies . Just because the old corolla has a 240 horsepower engine doesn't mean ALL Corollas do. Yours certainly doesn't, and it competes with the Civic Si in every sense of the word.

  • @TheCorollaXRS

Any engine can be made to make high specific output NA, the benefit of VTEC allows you to run dual cam profile so the car idles normal, is drivable in low rpms and get better fuel economy. A lot of race teams actually disable and/or remove variable valve timing and cam phasing hardware. This enable the engine to maintain consistant oil pressure and what good is a system that swithces back and forth if the engine is always racing in the upper RPM range?

  • dont honda are only oil drinker!

toyota beat honda in all categorie

    corolla > civic

    soarer > s2k

    supra > nsx

  • dude those are sum bad comparisons. to say a Lexus SC is better then a S2k in any catergory your just a fanboy and dont read stats. and there wont be a time where a nsx will lose to a supra in a handling contest. respect is given where its due.

  • @Misterkoolz si and xrs are both good just a matter of taste.

  • @Misterkoolz no my friend civics are slow thats why we say ever honda is like a tampon every pussy needs one

  • @Misterkoolz Dude stop getting your ass walked.

Realize that you bought a shitty ass honda.

Gettin' more crappy as the years progress just like Toyota's.

    I don't care, I wish I had a XRS even though toyota's startin't to die out because they're so lazy. -.-

Other than that I want my fuxing miata.

  • Congrats you f*cking POS. You live in a cave since this car has been undisputedly handing modded Civic SI (including hondata flashpro IS) their a**es!!

If you do not know how to give credit where it is due, you should STFU and GTFO!! F*cking r*cist piece of trash!

  • So when ever u feel up to trying to pit ur xrs vs a real mans car peep my starion vid n gimme a hollar

  • LOL my fkin old 4 door civic Vtec d16z6 would have raped that bih! but now atleast i know for a fact with the boosted k20 hatch project...not street legal!

  • Holy crap I didn't even know they had a corolla like this, I have a 2000, but damn sounds sweet lol nothing like my puny one, but hey it runs on a thimble full of gas, unlike my 73 vette lol.

  • i agree wit sleepisyummy u shuld get dat checked out bro

  • DUDE something is screwy with your car...notice that everytime you shift, your CEL pops on then goes off...you should get that checked out.

  • Some people opt to have the CEL pop on to act as a shift light.

  • I would be scared every time I looked down and saw it go on lol...its not the best way to do it, but I guess that makes sense now.

BUT you really don't need a shift light if you're a good driver =P

  • Imagine having No shift light at all. I don't have one at all on my ride. I need one. I don't have an XRS, I have a boosted tC. It's kinda hard to shift properly when you have short gears and over 300whp. Shift light would allow me to not have to look at my tach as I'm approaching redline.

  • I understand, but what I'm saying is that if you "knew your car" so to speak, then you would be able to know what the engine sounds like just before you have to shift. I drove a Mitsubishi Mirage, those have no tach at all, so you have to memorize the car's engine tone at redline to know when to shift out.

I'm not knocking your skill or the driver in this video's skill, because a boosted Tc is very very fast, and so is the XRS. I'm just saying, an excellent driver doesnt need a shift light.

  • I would have to say yes, and no. I'm pretty sure Top Fuel dragsters, Pro funny car drag racers...etc...all know their cars. Yet they all pretty much use a large shift light. It's an aid that allows you to focus all your attention on the path your approaching imo. Not a matter of whether or not you know or don't know your car. Personally, I would say I know my car. I've been racing it for about 3-4 years now. Since I'm increasing the redline on it also, a shift light is going to be good.

  • Yeah i know. I think the pros know their cars very well. They use the shift light but don't actually look at it...they see it through their peripheral vision. I mean if i had a freaking dragster like that, of course i'd need a shift light lol. The car's power is too much for a human to react to so they need a shift light.

What are you raising your redline to?

  • Yeah, same here. That's what I need is that peripheral indicator. When I'm going through the corners for Time Attack, I don't want to have to worry about banging the limiter on corner exit to many times. The Light will help me with that. Since the head is stock, I will just increase it to around 6800rpm. Once the head is built, I will rev it out to 7800-8k rpm. Stock redline is 6250rpm.

  • Yeah, my friend drives a full bolt on Tc, so I know all the stats on it. I think you should be having a bunch of fun around corners :) The Tc isn't really built to do that however, if I had a Tc I would use it for racing purposes instead of autoX or Time Attack. The long wheelbase and weight are ultimately going to hinder it. If you've got something light, I would suggest using that for Time Attack instead.

But damn...6800rpm is nice. Should sound killer :)

  • My tC is built for it though, I've seen to that.

    - TRD LSD

    - ES Motor Mounts

Not ordered yet, but will be shortly

    - ES Master Suspension set

    - Progress rear sway

    - 18x9.5 Rota Grids

    - Toyo R1R tires 255/35/18

I have also a good addition in the aero aid department.

PS.....Guess what owns the FWD Time Attack track record for Willow Springs Raceway? Also, guess what owns the 2008 Unlimited FWD and Modified FWD class championships for Redline Time Attack? HEHE.....I'm doing street class.

  • Ah, yes well I was referring to if you had no suspension upgrades to help. Having the handling of a Ferrari in your Tc is obviously nice lol.

    When is your next meet?

  • Hheee...Yeah the Redline Time Attack will hit my area in July (I probably won't have my new turbo kit by then, so bummer). Until then though, I will be AutoX'ing it. Next AutoX is next weekend.

  • Very nice. I wish you luck. Which turbo kit are you getting?? Turbonetics?

  • Oh no, Tnetics kits are not aggressive or modular enough. PTuning's new turbo kit is where it's at. My old turbo kit was a ZPI Stage 1. It was a log manifold, 16G turbo equipped, then I switched to a 20G on it. 98% of all the vids on my page are of me racing cars with the 16G on. The Quick runs vid is with the 20G. PTuning kit is EL manifold and a GT3076R. 14lbs of boost w/ 3 inch exhaust should be good for 370-400whp stock motor. I'll run meth injection for safety.

  • Damn...you've got this all figured out dont you? Haha. Its way too much for my corolla to handle right now...I'll settle with my 125 stock hp =D I've heard about all the kits for the Tc....my buddy wants to turbo his. He was looking at the ZPI kit as well....or the Turbonetics. I'm not sure he can afford the new PTuning kit. Most people with Tc's run around 10lbs of boost, but you should be perfectly safe with 14lbs. Just be cautious lol

  • LOL....well been at it for a good minute now. Helps to have people like PTuning, and World Racing you can collabo with online every once in a while. Yeah, 10lbs is safe. I was running 12lbs last. I'm still going to run 12lbs for daily driving, and Time Attack for now. 14lbs + Meth is reserved for those like 500whp cars I come across, and the every once in a while trips to the drag strip. Looking to run high 11's on a stock motor. But I'll settle for low 12's stock motor.

  • Yeah it helps when you've got a team of people to help you out with things. High 11's on the stock motor is pretty ridiculous. You really gotta give props to Toyota for making an engine with extremely good potential when boosted.

  • Yeah, if I don't make the high 11's then I'll break something trying...lol. I will take the tow trailer just in case. Would be bad ass to have a video driving to the track, run an 11sec pass, and then show me driving home....lol.

  • Come on man we all know that Toyotas don't break hahaha.

That would be so badass though! Lmao!

  • Hehee...for sho. There is another guy trying to beat me to it. Right now he ran a 12.4 @ 111 I think it was. He is putting up the video soon. But he is stock motor as well. Running a 60-1 turbo and 2step launch at 5k rpms on slicks. I think he doesn't have the LSD yet though. He might beat me to the 11sec barrier on a stock motor, but at least I would among a rare group...lol. I think the Dual BB 3076 spools faster than that 60-1 does. Waiting on his vid to post up. Should be bad ass.

  • Nice man! I want to see his car compared to yours :)

  • Yeah, his sn is ElevationtC over on Scionlife. Boy even has a twin disc clutch in it....hehee. I think he is more of a fast street car, and I'm more along wanting to be among the "race" bred. He has a body kit and stuff like that, that's why I mentioned being more along a fast "street" car.

  • Yeah I understand what you mean. He's more for show but still wants to have the go as well, while you don't care how it looks as long as it does what you ask of it :)

  • Indeed. I still like to look good doing it though...hehee.

  • Well keep it shiny of course!

  • That and the rubber side down!

  • see im a civic si guy but i like the xrs gearing alot better than si's. wats the whp estimate of full bolt ons. for the civic si's its around 200-215 depending

  • come to PUERTO RICO and see what xrs can do 13.9 on a 1/4 ALL MOTOR :)

  • x 2

thats right baby los boricuas cn Xrs es cm Rambo con su machete xD jajajajajajaja vamo pa la pista de a~asco a corel

    :D

  • yo every time u shift up ur check engine light comes on, thats strange!?!

  • damn..i had a rsx-s and civic si..but im now on granny status with a lexus es..i want to get another car i was honestly thining about the xrs just to be diffrent...what mods does this sucker have..sounds awesome

  • intake/header/exhaust and ecu

  • fuck yeah

  • I just noticed how high this car revs...god damn

  • got to love that lift
