This is mind blowing yes it is! did you know that avalokitesvara came from india, this reminds me of india , is this near a boreder(ish) they share? aka nepal?
As someone has pointed out, its not a Shiva Dance but its a Thousand Hand Bodhisatva Dance performed at - 2005 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Search youtube for the same.
création artistique divine, sublime de shiva! on se laisse envelopper par la dance et de la beauté! j"aime ce miracle artistique de la représentation sacré de shiva!
um.... isn't this the dance of the 1000 armed Bodhisattva? i know it cauz i have seen the live. this got nothing to do with lord shiva. they are not pretending to be shiva they are trying to pretend one of the forms of kwan yin
oh please he was from lumbini part of magadha, he later settled in gaya bihar which was part of the kingdom then. so he was born in ancient undivided india, modern day nepal. Thats like saying mahabharata was composed in pakistan.
I was just trying to find a video of someone doing the Nataraja so that I could speed it up, but this dance piece here is amazing. I have seen something like this done with a line of 6 blue people, but it was nothing in comparison to this.
Though this is not Bharatnatyam, it shares many similarities with the karanas of that dance, as well as the Indic origins and influence of Budhism, as especially seen in the costumes and mudras. However, this is now truly a creation of its own Chinese cultural context and should be seen in the proper light with respect to the Chinese artists. And Chinese viewers should also realise the debt owed to their neighbour. Art should not be about jingoism but universality.
Buddhism stems from hinduism. Bhuddha, SIDHARTHA, Gautam Bhud, was the 10th re-incarnation of lord Vishnu and he was born in india. This beautiful and magical dance is definately a form of Shiva Dance. The barat natyam, which is the main componenet of this beautifully performed dance, comes from Lord Shiva. One day he was angry and he did his tandad, one of the sage watched him and wrote the barat natyam. I hope this answers to teh confusion that this dance has created.
Buddhism stems from hinduism. Bhuddha, Gautam Bhud, was the l0th re-incarnation of Vishnu. Bhuddha was born in India. This beautiful dance definately is shiva dance, because shive is the original of barat natyam. He was angry one day and he was dancing, one of the sage watched him and wrote the step of bharat natyam.
Parabenss!! BRAVO...com td certeza...BELISSIMO!
budhha is not hindu avatar u dumbo! buddha is buddhist there's a vast difference between hinduism n buddism plus buddha is bodhisatwa meanin he doesn't reincarnate ever he achieved nirvana unlike other buddhas who're born again n again to achieve nirvana..theyre not vishnu avatar now dun say jesus is vishnu avatar too silly!
This was shown on Taiwanese television a few years ago. Though the title is not appropriate, it is nonetheless amazing, since ALL THE DANCERS ARE DEAF! They were taught to do the dance by numbers. Earlier, to the left of the screen is a woman in white who's job it is, is to see to it they keep proper count
I have to agree with some of the other comments; this does not seem like the Nataraja. I think it it would be plausible to say that it is Avalokiteshvara though with the many (thousand) hands with what looked to be eyes in the palms.
(Sitatapatra has one head, two arms, three eyes (the third eye in located between the eyebrows), her left hand holds a parasol, the right hand is in the wish-bestowing mudra, and she sits in the meditation style on a lotus).
I'm hypnotized...
thanks
