Every characte was having a major meltdown during the theme. They were trying to get the song to shut up. Poor original characters. They didn't like seeing themselves all cheery and happy! XD

Takano was arrested at the end of Kai and she's still working as a nurse in Kira, so there's no way it follows the main story. Rei and Kira are simply side stories.

Regardless, I think people need to stop hating Kira for not being serious. It's just something silly and fun for the fans, to celebrate Higurashi's 10th anniversary.

@lenkagamine524 Okay, this video is for a joke. Higurashi is a pretty gory anime, it's kinda scary but it's one of the best animes I've ever seen. However, you should only watch the first two seasons. Higurashi Kira is the fourth season. Since Higurashi is known mainly for its gore, it's really...whatever for the fourth series to have such a happy song (the song you just heard on this vid). Higurashi can be cute, but it's deep and bloody. Rei and Kira aren't required watches.

I mean, they're separate story arcs that are just meant as parodies, and it is even stated in some episodes that the certain world would never "happen" (Chapter - Never- :D). I mean, if you don't take it seriosuly and take it for what it is, it can be surprisingly quite entertaining. Then again, I am able to find mostly everything hilarious. D:

That is in the story line where Rena takes over the school and fights Keichi. Despite the apparent happy ending of that Takano still manages to go through with her plan sometime later by killing Rika, and well Rena is the only one who gets away. Hope that cleared some things up.

@SonicKnuxMiku25096 After Kai? Well I haven't seen Rei or Kira myself(yet), but he is basically comatose. The only reason being is that his case of the syndrome is so severe he freaks out whenever he wakes up so they are keeping him under lock and key until a true cure is made. In other words as of Kai he is still sleeping and will continue to sleep until they are able to fix him. Not sure if that helped. I need to watch Rei and Kira and see if any holes are filled in.

I don't exactly understand everyone's problem about fanservice. I loved Kira as much as the rest of the series, although I like anything that's happy and not very serious.

Also: was this really the last Higurashi series? I hope not... Even if the story is complete as Rika found the perfect world, it would be nice to see more, even if only this kind of funny OVAs.

Kira wasn't all that bad, it had some moments where I couldn't stop laughing, sure it wasn't related to the story at all and sure it may of been just fan service but hey, overall it was a nice to see some happy episodes for once and not constant tension/death (But don't get me wrong, I loved all of the tension/death scenes throughout the story, it's what made it great).

I'm not a gore lover, but Kira did away with much of what was good about Higurashi, such as the mixing of animation styles to create more humorous or serious scenes, and instead sticking to one mediocre style, or the fact that there hasn't been a single remotely serious episode yet. The only one that had the slightest potential was 3, but it ended up just being as stupid and goofy as the others. Happy cheerfulness is good and all, but Kira was a worse maiming than anything in the show.
